wow steaky, how lovely. i especially like

Every day there is an egg to catch. But my one great hope is that my daughter will always trust me enough to throw it ? and that in her growing heart she will see the world as a place where more eggs are caught than broken.

sazz he already has
i asked him if he was doing anything on thursday, he was, drinks with friends so i said, not to worry. he pushed to find out why i wanted to know (its a party thing at work) and he said its more important i go! not 100% i want to but i can decide as late as an hour before i'm due to be there if i like! where has my grumpy DP gone?! i sure as whatsit don't miss him!

cyteen · 25/08/2009 21:52

lol at 'baggy' I had one posthumously named 'sugar', after he committed hara kiri by leaping into the sugar bowl

Spoke to best friend earlier and discovered another mate is pregnant with twins! Very pleased for her. Also spoke to my lovely SIL and she said yes to being my bridesmaid

steaknife · 25/08/2009 21:52

TS It does make sense. I think you are right, it is major surgery, but if you are well informed and have a good relationship with the surgeon then it needn't be a bad surgery. If that makes sense.

COOKS HELP!
my roast is at the medium temp of 150. if i take it out now and put the lid on the roasting pot (left it off to cook), will it continue to cook for a while? i want it medium well but don't want to over cook it.

all replies/ideas may be stolen for my wedding!

Miamla · 25/08/2009 21:56

TS yes it will and anyway, meat should always be rested after a good roasting

oopsacoconut · 25/08/2009 21:57

TS - the retained heat will cook it for a little while but it will also let the meat relax and it will be more juicy and tender.

Will someone make a new thread please - my brain is too cheesy to think of an appropriate title!

Miamla · 25/08/2009 22:00

sazz your boobs are fab! should i be blushing for noticing and now commenting? sod it! they ARE fab!

oopsacoconut · 25/08/2009 22:00

rest under a cloth or uncovered

cyteen · 25/08/2009 22:03

Miamla I'm having two bridesmaids, my best friend and my SIL. They have exactly the same colouring (long v dark hair, dark eyes, pale skin) and similar shape (slim) but best friend is v tall and SIL is tiny. So they should make quite a nice pair!

Atm I'm thinking of going to a local dress/corset maker for my outfit...something like this but in really deep midnight blue.

Not sure about anything else yet - we're off to look at some venues for ceremony tomorrow. Will all be happening in Leicester but that's as far as we've got!

Thanks everyone for listening to me today.

Hey, we need a new thread.

TwilightSurfer · 25/08/2009 22:04

how did it get to be 11pm here? I only just put DD to bed, well obv not as that was at 7.30.

oops the thing I found with DD when I have been away and we have had to co-sleep or share a room is that the more she comes in with me the worse she sleeps. In that she gets used to coming into bed with me so she then wakes up more and is harder to settle until I give in. This is why I ended up sleeping on my mums sitting room floor rather than in the spare room where DD's cot was.
So I guess it is a case of either leave it and hope it passes, which it probably will in time or try to help it to pass by using a putting back to bed strategy of some sort.
As you say she cries when she wakes because she went to sleep with you there and wakes up with you gone. Could you try to leave before she fully goes to sleep and then when you go in to shush her leave again before she goes to sleep fully. That way she knows you are around but doesn't rely on you to need to go to sleep.

Disclaimer - I might be talking a load of old twaddle.
