Hi oops ooh fancy. Mine is a wooden blocks one so she can build it. It has hollow blocks for the animals. The man kindly wrapped it for me so I can't play appraise it for safety before sunday.

steaknife · 25/08/2009 16:03

this one

oopsacoconut · 25/08/2009 16:13

Steaky - I have to say I prefer yours, DD's is a bit too pink but the IL's bought it and it was better than the plastic one they were thinking of before I planted the wooden toy seed.

dizzydixies · 25/08/2009 16:38

god I feel SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOo guilty now that poor Dylan got feck all for her birthday those farms look great ladies

steaky all sounding lovely and positive was having a think about your talents and the one thing I turn to over and over again for presents for newborn is personalised blankets - they're just fleece with the names embroidered on them so imagine what you could do with your talents!

buckets fire in the gravy

oops we need advance notice of when DH is on these programmes please!!

been a busy day here. DH and DD2 tackled the garden this morning whilst I did some cafe work then we nipped to local cafe before Dr's apt. Dylan had some jabs today, didn't flinch, didn't shout, didn't cry once - just looked at the woman as if to say I had to ask her if she'd done it yet all looks good for next months MMR!!! However I was also told that DD2 will be getting her letter about her pre-school jabs within the next few months - that is NOT going to go so smoothly!

very lovely sensible Dr took one look at the girls ears and laughed at ridiclious notion that the locum had - thank goodness for sensible Drs and for over reaction

Dh at park with all 3. Apple/sultana/oat muffins made and apple cake in the oven too - can you tell we have an abundance of cooking apples at the moment

right, have to go and get on with cafe stuff before meeting tonight - hope you all had a lovely sunny day too!

LoveBuckets · 25/08/2009 16:57

Or fleece-backed polycotton patchwork quilts just big enough to perch decoratively on top of a single bed or wrapped around a poorly child in front of the tv. Everybody likes an 'ill blanket' don't they? Could have some funky bright coloured patchwork going on, esp for boys, but must be washable.

Sazzles He did suggest going back to Malta but seeing as it was only 3 weeks since we arrived in France then I wasn't very receptive to the idea. Can't imagine why? Here is what I thought at the time.

Your shopping sounds loverly. I introduced mum to TKMaxx last weekend. I only went in to get the stairgate they had in there. Mum came out with a berghaus coat and a cookbook. I think she might be converted.

steaknife · 25/08/2009 18:39

blimey I just looked at the safety gates in mothercare as I liked your sideways-rollerblined one. Please tell me you didn't pay 90 quid for it and if not where I can find one for a better price.

Hi! Yes I am here but only briefly.

Steaky you are doing GREAT!

About to leave now for pick-up run. DD1 doesn't get out until 2:50pm and we only live 3 miles from the school BUT if you don't get in line by 2:15pm your in the biggest traffic snarl on the planet. ARGH! So out we go to play in the truck for an hour. FUN!

Thank goodness for FACEBOOK!

Well, the only thing that hasn't been hard work about today is DS, who has been nothing but pure pleasure and cheekiness Everything else = ghastly. Rushed into town after counselling for a tiny bit of retail therapy and found it wall to wall with - and I really am sorry for being such a judgey cow, but fuck it - the dregs of the dregs of humanity. Before I'd even got onto the main road near our house I'd seen some kind of barney erupting out of a house, woman effing and blinding and wigging out while other woman holding toddler tried to swearily reassure her and loads of kids ran in and out of the house. Town centre was FOUL, nothing but ugly, aggy, sweary folk smoking fags and shouting at each other in pointy-finger fashion. Eventually got home with my boy and came over all faint and wobbly. I had to lie on the floor for 10 minutes ffs, while Joe clambered happily about on my head.

So I guess the counselling is having an effect Tonight is a write-off, I'm going to eat my favourite food, drink wine, have a bath, call my best friend and go to bed.

Very sad about all that I have lost.

steaknife · 25/08/2009 19:20

cyteen sounds like an horrendous day to venture out, no wonder you felt faint. tsk tsk to shouty folk
I hope your evening restores you a little bit.

I have washed the floor but am ignoring the washing up and supping a cold beer. And thinking about applying for this receptionist job. second one down.

Actually a bit of me quite fancies being a flight attendant - I told you I still believed in the glamourous age of travel. I am so misguided.

steaknife · 25/08/2009 19:26

Sazzles I have actually been daydreaming about Malta quite a lot. I s'pose it is the when-we-were-loved-up syndrome. I wouldn't mind that much if he went and I would completely understand because he has to dive. Really, he physically has to dive otherwise he turns into a grumpy bastard - I told you moving to the Alps was a bad idea!

And yep Izzy and I could have nice holidays and I will get to go diving again. So it wouldn't be so bad and he might actually stop being so angry at me.

Evening all.
Big hugs cyteen no wonder you felt like that.

steaky & oops the farms look gorgeous.

Had a lovely day riding today. Boy can that horse shift.
Found a huge field (with permission) and just let the reins slack and sge just flew.
wow certainly blew the cobwebs away.

I also did a bit of shopping, some bargain MOLO rompers and t shirts in TK Maxx for ds and I have just ordered loads more for him from Boden.
Lol at dd1 sazzles not liking the purchases though.
I think ds has high instep, as his shoes feel and look weird, women in clarks said he probably as a high instep well shouldnt she actualy know???
so he is in shoo shoos atm.

Looking forward to buying his first pair of converse.

Well done Dylan on her jabs, hope she has no side effects.

On a different note. I was out today for 4 hours first time away from dcs in months.
Got home and dh looked suicidal. He once again said he could not cope as ds cried/moaned for 2 hours. He felt useless as everything he tried didn't work, and dd kept hitting him and .... well you know the rest.
He said no way am I allowed to go back to work until they are in school. He loves them but just cannot 'do' both of them.
To be fair they are both cutting teeth, so are a bit off anyway.

(I was going to do the odd day in mums shop when he was off work)
