broccoli cheese soup
potato soup
chicken soup
chicken noddle soup
chicken enchilada soup
tomato soup
vegetable soup
vegetable beef soup
beef stew
i'd probably like a good onion soup.

that about covers me.

Sazz I can't get your links to open [harumph]

Miamla · 24/08/2009 21:56

sazz you reckon i'm the disorientated one? you're the girl that lives in an upside down house!

TwilightSurfer · 24/08/2009 21:57

Dizzy how about a chair like this?

OP posts:
LoveBuckets · 24/08/2009 21:57

Dizzy - Think Sarah Beany and 'replaceable instant shine' rather than 'expensive but tatty and dingey.' The Ikea Tullsta ones with removeable washable covers for less than £100 each with a Family card discount. They are also surprisingly light which you need if the room is to be flexible for evening use Oh just go Ikea all the way.

You could have a policy of vegan soups so you can advertise it as a USP. They are also cheaper to make and in a fridgespace emergency they won't kill anyone. Give the option of a swirl of yoghurt or cream for nothing.
Pumpkin and nutmeg
Butterbean and Butternut
Minestrone
Watercress
Pea and mint (Zap a pack of frozen peas and whizz)
Carrot and coriander

oopsacoconut · 24/08/2009 21:57

Miamla - the style was only what I like I would have it in lime green if it was me

dizzydixies · 24/08/2009 21:58

TS Ikea have a very similar one in white which I did consider but I've picked the dining chairs - its the easy/arm chairs I'm needing now

this one pleeeeeeeease

LoveBuckets · 24/08/2009 22:00

I hate brown leather too, went to someone's house once and had to bite my tongue because their new sofa looked exactly like a gigantic turd!

Miamla · 24/08/2009 22:00

oops you're forgiven then!

dizz, the one Buckets has found is perfect! but only if you have a bright cover on it
i like her soup choices too! esp the option of a swirl in it

TwilightSurfer · 24/08/2009 22:01

Leave it to me to be a little "slow". Nice choice then Dizzy. Yes when are you opening?

OP posts:
Miamla · 24/08/2009 22:01

buckets how you feeling now?

LoveBuckets · 24/08/2009 22:02

Oops that's not a sofa that's a luuuurve platform!

oopsacoconut · 24/08/2009 22:03

or this for a bit of vavavoom

dizzydixies · 24/08/2009 22:06

buckets we have a large corner jobby couch but if I'm honest was because we had to take the DFS free for a year option

Sazz have been to a cafe with those chairs in it and they are surprisingly comfortable and take my lardy arse no problems

buckets the soup options are great thanks - am compiling the menu for this meeting tomorrow night however as the baking & soup will be 'donated' I can't really dictate what we serve, I can only put forward ideas of what we might get and (obviously) make some of the more unusual ones myself

oops am not sure how to get the more amarous grannies out of that one lol

the opening is all dependant on the funding and refurb however May 1st is being banded about a bit

Miamla · 24/08/2009 22:06

right, i've got school work in the morning so i need to sort out what i'm wearing and go to bed, night all

oopsacoconut · 24/08/2009 22:06

Fine then all run away at the thought of huge lip sofas in Dizzy's cafe.

oopsacoconut · 24/08/2009 22:08

Dizzy - I read that as a large jobby couch I thought you lived in a civilized society!

dizzydixies · 24/08/2009 22:08

night miamla - hope you're not doing too much too soon, please be kind to yourself

oops - am loving the lips

Miamla · 24/08/2009 22:08

May 1st? looks like i'll be planning a second trip up your way next year then! (first is looking likely to be Oct sometime so now's your chance to make sure you haven't got any free time in october!)

oops - it is a large jobby coloured couch ask Sazz, she's been on it!!!

although am very quick to point out she is not the reason for the colour of the couch

LoveBuckets · 24/08/2009 22:10

Miamla Fine thanks, tiny bit queasy today but it really seems to have been a 24hr thing (12hrs for the kids.)

Lady on Ebay makes alternative covers for Ikea furniture. So you could have a whole new look everytime things start to get worn out.

Ikea stacking chairs are cheap and cheerful too. It's like having disposable furniture only it's not wasteful because you'll always have a sparkly cafe and the old stuff will always find a good home somewhere.

Miamla · 24/08/2009 22:10

thanks dizz, i am. if its all too much tomorrow i'm going straight home again. i've managed to eat a meal today without any stomach cramps so its looking good

right, really really am going now

oh ps.. dp just came and asked what i was typing about, when i replied soup and armchairs, i got a
