Daisy, does he flap his arms and legs for about 5 seconds then rest and repeat that about 20 times?
Can def feel pre AF pains - bugger

daisydora · 18/07/2009 08:29

lol pmk you've got it in one! When he stops he looks up and smiles with this 'check out how clever I am mum' kind of expession.

Have just realised its my wedding anniversary tomorrow Had completely forgot so I am sure DH has, oh bugger!!! Can everyone tell I am not what you'd call a romantic!!

pmk1 · 18/07/2009 08:39

Yes!! That's exactly what ds does too!! Thinks he's so clever then when he gets tired sometimes his head bangs down quite hard on the floor when he's too tired!
His latest though is not wanting to lie flat - always tries to sit forward (even though shaky) and it's very hard to put him in his carseat at the moment - puts his elbows out and prevents me putting him back to do up the harness!!

tillyfernackerpants · 18/07/2009 09:22

trace good luck to Lucy for her ballet exam, am sure she will do brilliantly . Did you get the presentation finished?

spot hope you get lots of rest over the weekend

Lal hope you have a good time

katie glad you got a -ve result! September isn't too far away at least

pmk ds2 does the skydiving position as well, always gives a grin as he looks up!

kayz glad ds2 is ok after your fall, is your ankle better?

Trying to decide what to do today, not sure whether to go to Kew Gardens, Battersea Park or Museum of Childhood!

Veggiemummy · 18/07/2009 10:47

Trace popping in very quickly not sure what time the ballet exam is but I'm from a ballet family (the only one who kept at it was my brother who actually made a career out of it) pull her hair back use some bobby pins for the stragglers then go into a large room cover her eyes open the windows and unleash a can of hairspray on her noggin. That should to the trick for the old battle axes examining her. Right now to catch up.

OP posts:
Veggiemummy · 18/07/2009 11:10

Oh I love the museum of childhood that dress up bit up top is great. I did love living in the east end.

Kayz I'm so sorry about your ankle, you'll be off the bike for a bit then.

Daisy hooray for one more nights sleep. LOL at the forgotten wedding anniversay. DH & I always cone over all romantic when people ask about our wedding and we talk about it lovingly, then we ruin all that romance when ask what the date of our wedding was and the 2 of us have to have a good think about it. We are usually able to narrow it down to two days in April. Funny thing is we always remember the day we met, maybe because it cost less money.

DS2 has finally worked out that there is an interesting world around him and not just above him. He has started looking around at stuff at crawling height level. He still enjoys getting up to stand at the couch but is now just a entertained with his toys and things within crawling reach. I watch him spend 15 mins just now pottering around playing with things on the floor (in particular a water bottle costing £1 rather than a developmental toy which cost some stupid amount). It is nice to see him entertain himself and be happy that I'm just near, rather than pulling himself up all the time and hitting his head poor thing.

PMK sorry about the house. Where you going to do another trip home?

Daisy I hear Dulwich esp East Dulwich is a great place to live, very trendy. People always get funny about anything sarf of the river and I've never understood why.

OP posts:
Veggiemummy · 18/07/2009 11:22

Sorry the dulwich thing was for arti not daisy, I think I need another coffee. I went for a long swim last night I think I have used all my brain sugar better have cake too.

OP posts:
sybilfaulty · 18/07/2009 11:23

Just looking in quickly to say, Arti, move toDulwich, it's great! We live in the less trendy but slighly cheaper side of west Dul and it is lovely. Train to Vic every 15 mins and takes 10 mins. Lots of buses, parks, restaurants, activites. And chock full of people with children so lots of people to hang out with. You do have to be a bit careful with state school as many of them are very oversubscribed and you need to live v v close to stand a chance of getting in. If you go private then lots of choice.

Come and live here - it's great!

Hope everyone else is good. Will try to get half an hour to read and post properly later on.

EffiePerine · 18/07/2009 13:06

Quick wave from me - cross DS2 and still-not-toilet-trained DS1, plus DH working like a maniac as he's on jury service next week. Just saw Daisy's news - glad it turned out as you wished . Hopefully will be able to catch up a little soon, but now need to get on with the housework, so have lovely weekends all

daisydora · 18/07/2009 14:48

I have just rung DH at work tyo ask if he has remembered our anniversary and 'fess up that I had completely forgotten. He was horrified he had forgotten too!

I have just got a bottle of champagne from Tesco, a DVD and will order a takeaway. DH has asked 'Do we have to eat at the table, otherwise the DVD will be on late and we will be late getting to bed'.

Other news...DS has joined the Commando's, well not really but instead of crawling he is dragging himself around with his elbows!

Indith · 18/07/2009 18:15

It isn't swine flu that kills you, it is the fact that after a few days cooped up together you want to kill each other.

Dd still not well, ds perking up a fair bit then crashing. Currently tuggin at my arm so see you later!

Veggiemummy · 18/07/2009 19:04

Oh Indith poor you, sounds like you need a sun lounged swimming pool and a jug of pimms.

Daisy, LOL at your DH's concerns of a late night, so very rocknroll.

Have had a lovely day, one ds1's friends lives in a big posh house in a village near here and put on a big family fun day thing, family fun being bouncy castles and fun races and ice cream for the kids, pimms and cream teas for the mums and beer and food for the dads. Of course events, beverages and foods could be interchanged. It was a really lovely day. All the parents watched each others kids and it as so relaxing. They had a little area set up for the babies so DS2 got to have a little play around and it was just brilliant. DH only got to come for the end of it because we have a friend up for the weekend and he met him at the train station and then bought him out for the party. I'm just putting DS2 off to sleep now and DS1 is downstairs with DH and our friend. They are having men time, playing with DH's DS1's remote control dumptruck thing, and talking boy stuff.

Trace how was the ballet exam????

Turniphead1 · 18/07/2009 20:32

hi lovely ladies. I am the worst poster ever. YOu know what I would love - its a list of the RL names of those on FB (as I get onto that much more than MN) but then get confused betweenm who I have met, RL names etc etc...Does anyone have such a list? If you do please send it to me on FB!!

Arti I HATE it when DHs do that about an idea. My DH has a habit of doing that (ie refusing to consider a very logical idea...) He did that when he was insisting about 3 years ago that our next move be to the Hertfordshire burbs, despite the fact I really didn't want to go there and like you, I was the one going to be there more. In the end, a friend of mine talking him round to staying in Norf London - bizarre - but might you get one of your Dulwich chums ob board? Best of luck with househunt and well done on first week back at work.

OK - have only done one catch up and now have to cook supper - but just wanted to try and pop in. Am fascinated with the TTC!!! Ooooh - I can do it vicariously.

kayz hope your ankle better you poor thing.

Veggiemummy · 18/07/2009 20:41

Turnip we have that separate group thing where we all gave our MN names however I've no idea how to get to it so I also can't remember who everyone is. If it helps I'll do a status update now which subtly gives away my MN name.

Veggiemummy · 18/07/2009 20:45

Tilly I just watched that video freaky but funny, how do they do it, technology eh!

OP posts:
Turniphead1 · 18/07/2009 20:47

Veggie know who you are !!! (how ominous and stalkery does that sound...). I am sure some people can't remember my username too...I think since childbirth my brain can't retain info.

traceface · 18/07/2009 21:11

turnip - if it helps, I'm not on FB!
Veggie - I did a bun in Lucy's hair with a bun net, lots of grips and a fair bit of hairspray! She really looked the part and so very cute! We weren't allowed to watch and when we asked her how it was and what she had to do she said she couldn't remember! Oh well - I guess we'll hear how she did at some point!
Indith poor you Hope you all recover soon - for your sanity!
Phoebe took nearly 2oz water today and yesterday and is seeming much happier about the bottle of water, so this evening I expressed some milk and asked dh to try her with it before bed. Not good. Much screaming and coughing and absolute refusal I went in after 20 mins and she gave me a big gummy grin and held her arms towards me, so I picked her up, tried her with the bottle myself - same reaction - so I BF her instead. DH got a bit cross with me because I'd asked him to do it and be the 'bad guy', then I come along and feel sorry for her and give her the boob. I see his point, but I just couldn't bear it. I'm very rubbish. She actually went all day without a BF today. She'd fed at 2.30 am then had breakfast at 7 but refused boob, rice cake at 10.30, lunch at 11.30, refused boob snack at 2, cheese straw at 3.30, tea at 5 then boob at 7pm. SO her only fluid since 2am has been her 1.5oz water and her bedtime BF. My right boob has a sore red bit again so I expressed a few times, but I'm worried that my supply will dwindle as she loses interest but all she will replace it with is water. I feel like it's all a big maze again and I can't see where I'm aiming with the whole milk/water/bottle/cup thing. doh.
I still feel a bit odd. My head keeps going fuzzy and seems to vibrate and I get a headrush every time stand up. Maybe I'll try and get a bp check.
daisy happy anniversary Hope the DVD is short so you can get your early night!

Kimberly1979 · 18/07/2009 21:12

Hello lovely ladies!!!

It's been ages since I've posted. There is no way to catch up on all I've missed. I hope that you are all doing well and getting some sleep.

We have swine flu here... or at least I do. Praying that DH and J don't get it. J has been coughing but I can't tell if he's actually coughing or trying to imitate me. Poor DH has been on his own with the baby the last few days as I couldn't get out of bed! He's been really fantastic!

Was it arti talking about moving to the Dulwich area? We have been looking in that area! Maybe if you can talk your DH into it we'll be near each other!

Well off to take some more medicine to knock myself out.

traceface · 18/07/2009 21:17

veggie I've uploaded a couple of pics of my little ballet dancer on to my profile

Veggiemummy · 18/07/2009 21:26

Oh Kimberley you poor thing look after yourself.

Off to have a look now T, and Turnip I thought you probably did as I'm usually chiming in with comments on your status, I do find the quite amusing.

Kayzr · 19/07/2009 06:52

Morning,

Ankle seems to be ok now. Not as bad as orginally thought but I have an appointment tomorrow just so they can check it again.

We had a lovely time on the diner train last night. The food was gorgeous, did get a bit worried when they served the soup but there were no spillages.

Sleep has gone seriously down hill here. Friday night DS2 woke up at half 3 and only went back to sleep at 5 after I bought him into our bed. I haven't had to do that since he was about 8 weeks old. I am very tempted to get the GF book from the library and give it a go.

Hope everyone is well.

tillyfernackerpants · 19/07/2009 07:21

kayz glad your ankle is better & that you had a lovely time last night.

trace how cute , lol at not being able to remember what she did!

arti how did the house viewings go? Did any of them change dh's mind?

turnip nice to see you! There is a page on our FB group where a few of us have posted our MN names, think it might be under the discussion bit

veggie sounds like a lovely day, we have a few of those family days on round here & they're always lots of fun. The video is very freaky isn't it?!

indith agree with veggie that you need the sun, swimming pool & pimms. Hope you're all better soon

katie sorry to hear you've been ill, glad you're up and about again

Exciting news here for me - dh has agreed I can do my postnatal doula training! I'm going to do it in October & then hopefully will get some clients & work as a postnatal doula. When the boys are in school then I'll do the other day & become a birth doula!

notjustanumber · 19/07/2009 07:35

Trace Lucy looked lovely - why werent you allowed to watch ? Seems a shame.

I also had a funny turn yesterday and almost fainted. And Snap, I have a formula milk refusnik too. I dont know what to do about that, its a bit frustrating. I've tried all the brands, he doesnt like any of them. This means I am commited to going to the nursery at lunch to feed him then. I've never expressed before, (since DS1). Do you think its worth trying now ?

Tilly, congratulations, hope it goes well ! How do you train to be a doula ? Might be something I am interested in in the future. For various reasons I had no mum figure at all to help me during, pregnancy, birth, and the postnatal bits. I really missed it and would like the chance to fill the gap for someone else. I need to keep my current job for the moment now.

Hope those with swine flu are feeling a bit better today.

daisydora · 19/07/2009 09:15

Ahh Trace L looks gorgeous! And well done you with the hair

In for a rainy ole day here I'm afraid. DH at work, and we are supposed to be going to a picnic at church later Think it might be moved inside!

DS up to his usual tricks in the night, ah well it was fun while it lasted!!

Tilly, how exciting, good for you.
