lol aubergenie... thank god for that!! ha!

Honeymoonmummy · 30/06/2009 20:39

Ooh I love Wagamama. Haven't had one since I went off on maternity leave.

Hello all! I've baked bread today! For those of you who haven't yet realised how rarely I step into a kitchen, this is some achievement! I haven't tried it yet but apparently DH says it tastes "nice but buttery" I may need to buy some new scales...

DH has been slaving away in the kitchen all afternoon making meat purees for Poppy. Bless 'im.

I'm 35 on Friday [depressed old hag emoticon] Not sure what we're doing yet, maybe take Poppy to the zoo.

I went to physio this morning and she reckons I'm ready to do my Davina DVD again yay!! And she wants me to find and aquarobics class [scared of being in swimming costume in front of normal people emoticon]

Poppy's got a new trick - if we say "Ta" to her, she passes the doidy cup back to us

I'm going to get some tea now, laters!

star6 · 30/06/2009 20:44

wagamama is yummy!
Q and I went to gymboree today. It was so fun!
myjob and I are meeting up on Monday 6th July to go to the natural history and science museums in South Kensington in London. Anyone fancy to join us? Should be a fun day out!! Both museums are great for kids, which I' sure you all know already

Honeymoonmummy · 30/06/2009 20:45

There's a science museum in Manchester I think...I could meet you there?

star6 · 30/06/2009 20:52

I think I've used "fancy" incorrectly there... not a word I usually use - just trying to be a bit British

aubergenie · 30/06/2009 20:53

Gah - I'll be back at work on Monday!

star6 · 30/06/2009 20:55

We could text each other from the different locations and tell each other how it is

Marthasmama · 30/06/2009 20:59

Mmmm I live Wagamama too, so does DS! There is one in Canterbury so when we visit my mum at work she always takes us there for lunch. We had Leon's for lunch today, double yum!

Star - I would love to join you but I have arranged to see a friend with a boy the same age as M and then some local MNers on Monday. If it goes well, I'll be up for another meet up in London in Autumn or when you next have some school holiday time Star.

Hmm - 35 eh? That rounds up to 40 you know. [evil] Excellent news (I think) that you're up to exercise again! Impressive that P knows what 'ta' means! M was saying 'hello' to lots of boys on the bus today. She is such a little tart!

M managed to take her nappy off tonight! She was wearing a Bumgenius and nothing else, next thing I knew the nappy was off and M was rolling around giggling! She was very impressed with herself. Gap sale has started so I have been getting some 12-18 month bargains. However, I have a feeling that she might be in those 12-18 month clothes before long! Gap clothes appear to be on the small side.....

Marthasmama · 30/06/2009 21:03

Live? I mean love! That'll teach me to concentrate on my typing rather than having one eye on the telly!!!

Awww Aubergenie, that's bad timing. Hope you're enjoying your last week of mat leave.

jenwa · 30/06/2009 21:17

loulou men are no good at dong two things at once anyway, cooking is a distraction on its own

mm sorry M been a monkey for you, its hard to handle when youa re tired and they are tired and teething. Nice DH took her out for you though to give you a break. IS gap sael online?

I feel like a shouty parent today too DD been pushing it again and shouting "hey" at me every time I tell her off! Thats me saying it to often to her when she is being mean to P!

star I am seeing my sis on the weekend in London and go back the sunday otherwise would have hung around to the mon to meet up although only taking dd1 as dh looking after dd2 the weekend (that is also why I need to come back!)

Feel stuffed after dinner, need to go wash my hair but I may leave til the morning as too tired to bother now.

star Fancy was a good word, I like that word

Alas Jenwa, Gap don't do on-line shopping in the UK. I would be absolutely broke if they did!

Aww Myjob - Did you mention anything about the date earlier? If so, I am very naughty but if not then damn, I only made plans this afternoon! I could see about re-arranging...........

Marthasmama · 30/06/2009 21:30

Bugger! I don't know what to do..... I feel bad because I would have to cancel two things, but at the same time, I really want to meet you ladies. Eeeeek!

I am a bit scared of taking M on the tube though........

aubergenie · 30/06/2009 21:34

Ooh I might pop to Canary Wharf tomorrow and look in Baby Gap. Also need to try some dresses in in Monsoon so I can snap them up as soon as they announce the sale as I've got 2 weddings coming up. I've bought a back-up outfit from the Debenhams Sale in case the Monsoon Sale doesn't start in time, but if it does I'll send it back. Very complicated....

I liked your quirky use of fancy Star - it made you sound French or something.

CantSleepWontSleep · 30/06/2009 21:37

I'm sure I read that they are going to come to the UK online soon MM! Their girls' clothes are miniscule! Dd outgrew her age 3-4 roll neck tops from there before she even turned 3!

I may be able to make 6th, but will have to check with dh if he can sort dd for the day. It's consultation evening at her school that night though, so I wouldn't be able to be late back. What sort of time are you thinking of meeting? And on a practical note, will you be using pushchairs or just carriers?

Eek at you going back to work on Monday Aubergenie! I had clean forgotten that that was imminent. Can you survive on the amount of sleep that you're getting now for a working day?

MM, I know which county you're in, but which town?

OP posts:
Marthasmama · 30/06/2009 21:38

Aubergenie - With you in mind, I asked in Monsoon today if they knew when the sale started but they were very cagey and said 'In July'. They wouldn't tell me even when I said that it wouldn't stop me buying stuff full price.

Marthasmama · 30/06/2009 21:42

I am in Gillingham CSWS. Tis a boring scummy little town in the middle of Kent! Why, pray tell?! And, oh dear about Gap online!!! The boy's stuff seems to fit DS ok, but then he is skinny and small, whereas M seems to be big and tall. Wrong way round really!

CantSleepWontSleep · 30/06/2009 21:46

I wondered the other day, and even checked our fb thread, but couldn't work it out. I like to know how far away folk are!

OP posts:
CantSleepWontSleep · 30/06/2009 21:48

Just looked on map - is that coastal? Would a child think of it as the seaside?

OP posts:
Marthasmama · 30/06/2009 21:53

I was just thinking....costal?! But I see what you mean..... It's on the River Medway so it's not the coast, but there are lovely riverside walks to go on. Whitstable is the nearest proper bit of seaside to us. We actually live about 2 miles away from the river, the area around the river is Lower Gillingham and is not a very nice place to live. A few years ago there was a documentary about alcoholism and it focused on that part of the town. It is very run down, but the other side of the park (where I am) is very middle class with bog old Edwardian houses. I'll put a picture of my house on my profile to show you what I mean....

Marthasmama · 30/06/2009 21:56

Argh it won't upload. Oh well, I'll put one on FB instead.

Dd is at school in the afternoon myjob. Dh says that's fine though. I don't remember the date being mentioned before either, but I may not have been paying enough attention!
