I always need sympathy if I ever have a hangover, but it's been so long and seems like a distant memory...

We had really hot sun, then thunder and lightning, then rain and then hail. Massive hailstones. Really painful.

ronshar · 27/06/2009 22:56

Oh dear the clouds are coming over. DD1 school fayre tomorrow afternoon. 5 years and no rain, fingers crossed.

Aubergenie, I bet your path looks great. I am in awe of your abilities.
I did a bit of gardening and got bored after 15mins.

Honeymoonmummy · 27/06/2009 23:18

Hi all, Poppy still snuffly but got some Snufflebabe from pharmacy. Not taken temp since. Am going to bed as I only got about 3-4 hours last night, cue another sleep while DH looked after Poppy this morning!

Oh how often where you giving your LO's breast milk by 8 months? I'm on 3/4 times a day now, does that seem right?

Night all!

Honeymoonmummy · 27/06/2009 23:19

Were, not where. OMG, shoot me now

Honeymoonmummy · 27/06/2009 23:19

Oh and just found out on sky news that the lethal dose of drug they all on about Jackson taking is actually pethidene!!!

ronshar · 27/06/2009 23:29

Pethidene is an opiate so entirely possible. Very addictive.
W only wants milk maybe 3 times a day. Morning, afternoon and bedtime.

I hope poopy feels better. Have you tried vicks/vapour rub. Rub on front, back and soles of feet. Dont know why but it works

Night everyone.

ronshar · 27/06/2009 23:30

Bugger bugger bugger. I really need to check my post.
Poppy.
Poppy.
Poppy.

Marthasmama · 27/06/2009 23:43

Hm - I think M has about 7 feeds in 24 hour period sometimes that's 4 in the day sometimes 5. Then two or three in the night. I've heard the vapour rub on the feet thing too. Didn't work for M, but it did work for my friend's dd.

RachieW · 28/06/2009 08:30

Sorry I've not been on- very busy but lovely weekend.

HMM- Hope Poppy feels better soon and had a good nights sleep. I've used snufflebabe with J and it seemed to help.

J is still having 5 bottles a day, he doesn't seem ready to reduce it yet so I'm going to carry on. I think because he is blw he still isn't always eating that much. Other friends who have puree weened babies seem to have reduced feeds to 3-4 a day so P sounds like she's doing fine. J will probably be on bird portions and 5 bottles for ever

Ronshar- It's sunny here this morning so hopefully is everywhere else too. Hope the Fair goes well

Star- I think Horton (sp?) farm is linked to Godstone. We might check that one out too If Godstone isn't practical for us to meet up we can go elsewhere.. MM shall we come to you with tea and cakes?

Aubergenie- well done with the building work!

We went to a friend's ds 1st b'day yesterday. Was a lovely day, J enjoyed the bouncy castle. Today I'm off out shopping with some work colleagues to buy baby shower presents for another colleague, then have my brothers over for a BBQ. All very action packed but fun.

Noticed a teeny tiny part of J's first front tooth is making an appearance Am preparing myself for a rough week but hoping it won't be too bad. We're off to my Mum's again tomorrow as I have a teaching course in Birmingham on Weds. Fingers crossed J will be a happy boy for Nanny on Weds.

Marthasmama · 28/06/2009 10:48

CSWS - If you're around you might be able to help here. It sounds like something you'd be able to give advice about......

Honeymoonmummy · 28/06/2009 13:30

Jesus MM, how awful is that!

Just a quick one, I've told DH I'm going for a shower

Not a good night again here.

Ronshar - ha ha! I forgive you!

Re feeds, ds prob has 4 daytime feeds most days, and one or two night feeds (only 1 the last 2 nights - have been doing a touch more sleep training, which has helped enormously I think).

Pistachio - recommend moving in to a soft play centre. Ds had a lovely time pulling himself up and cruising along slowly in there today, whilst focusing on watching the older children, and I didn't have to worry about him bumping himself.

Both dc in bed for 6:45 tonight, but as I've been typing this ds has woken screaming, which he hasn't done at all the last two nights. Poor mite has hardly had any day sleep tonight and was utterly knackered. Might have to go and administer a cuddle .

CantSleepWontSleep · 28/06/2009 19:48

No cuddle required - he has self settled.

star6 · 28/06/2009 20:33

csws what have you been doing exactly with the "sleep training"?

CantSleepWontSleep · 28/06/2009 21:40

Leaving to rant and rave for 5 mins at a time, then giving big cuddle, then putting down and leaving (cries as soon as put down). Did it the other night and it took nearly 25 mins (might have been quicker but dd came in and talked whilst I was cuddling him, which set us back a bit), but then he had best sleep in ages. Then last night was doing same again, but he did one 5 min stint, had a cuddle and then lasted less than 2 mins before going to sleep. Tonight was 5 mins then 1 min.

CantSleepWontSleep · 28/06/2009 21:41

Oh and apart from tonight he's had nurofen and teething gel first so that I didn't have to worry that he was actually in pain (or at least no pain that I could actually do anything about).

aubergenie · 28/06/2009 21:43

Those hourly feeds sound like hard work Pistachio. Are you co-sleeping? We're back co-sleeping again as we've had a few too many nights like that recently. I can't remember when S last spent a whole night in his cot.

Well I finished my path today, and I'm feeling pretty pleased with myself. Even dp said it was nice.

CantSleepWontSleep · 28/06/2009 21:48

for path.

star6 · 28/06/2009 21:54

Thanks csws. So, when do you decide to feed? I find myself wondering is he hungry? and then feeling badly that he's crying

CantSleepWontSleep · 28/06/2009 21:59

Well he hasn't actually woken for a feed (or for anything else) the last 2 nights until 4:30am and 3:30am, so I fed then. I will still feed in the night if he wakes and doesn't resettle within a few minutes by himself.

Just a quick hello as shattered. busy weekend and girls tired. DD1 slept at my mums last night as we were at the party there and she did not go to bed til 10 ish and up at 4:45 but at her not being here. She slept in the room with my sis so prob got disturbed and excited to see her! She fell asleep in the car this afty for about 20 mins but would NOT sleep when we got home! DD2 was shattered too as she was being passed around lots last night and never slept much until we got home and put her to bed.

DD2 is really dropping her milk feeds, only really wanting her afternoon one and eve one but still not taking it all.

rofl at foam party ronshar I have never been to one of those!

Well off to bed now as sleepy.

Honeymoonmummy · 28/06/2009 22:39

Poppy still awake... DH currently having a go.

Marthasmama · 28/06/2009 23:02

Bloody internet not beening working all night grrrr. Now I'm tired after watching Blur at Glasto. AM now offended by Black Eyed Peas singing 'Let's get Retarded' instead of 'Let's get it Started'
