Yes recipe please!

calprofen is right next to calpol. It has ibuprofen in it instead of paracetamol (sp sorry). But you can only give 2.5ml of calprofen. You can give 5ml of calpol... but not both I don't think. But it works... Q is so much more comfortable with it. He was just crying every time he was set down earlier - I think whenever he could think about it but once given calprofen... he was FINE. amazing.

I need an injection to stop allergic rxn if I have asprin or ibuprofen so i was SO worried this would happen to Q. That's why we sat in A&E car park. I even bought a ticket for parking so we could wait about a half hour to make sure nothing went wrong. I think I'll go back for the next possible allergy. Makes teh whole thing so much less stressful

star6 · 15/07/2009 20:55

Hooray pistachio Keep "studying"

the calprofen isn't pink! I don't like the colour in calpol either - but we had bought it before knowing about store brands. DH and I never take meds - all I can take is paracetamol so we have some of that, and I have imigran for migraines (not while bf of course)... but now we have all sorts!! lol.

aubergenie · 15/07/2009 21:04

Here you go.

Sugar free banana cake

  • 1 lb ripe bananas
  • 6oz Raisins
  • 8oz Self raising flour
  • 4oz butter
  • 2 egg
  • 1 tsp mixed spice or cinammon

Mix the flour and spice together in a large bowl. Rub in the butter with your fingertips. Then add the raisins.
In a different bowl whisk the egg, then mash in the banana.
Using a spoon, fold the egg-banana mix into the dry mix. Bake at 175 degrees for about an hour.

aubergenie · 15/07/2009 21:12

I hate the colour in the paracetamol too. I bought an own brand one and it was still bright pink. Will look out for some Calprofen tomorrow!

nurofen too... not sure which is better... callprofen is cream coloured. It's a godsend.

Will make banana recipe tomorrow (minus raisins so DH will eat it too) Thanks!!

I made lentil, carrot, courgette, egg, cheese and wholemeal breadcrumb patty for Q tonight and he loved it!! He's not liking eating plain lentils off of a spoon anymore . He does love beans though.
DH asked about "baked beans"... can Q have those? Q usually eats aduki beans or kidney beans...

star6 · 15/07/2009 21:23

where is heather?

CantSleepWontSleep · 15/07/2009 22:02

He can have baked beans star, but they are very salty, so watch the portion size. I did try making home made baked beans when dd was little, but I wasn't too keen on them tbh.

I think the cake might not be sweet enough without the raisins star.
Is it Franny's recipe aubergenie? I made that several times when dd was little.

I must re-find your butternut squash muffin recipe and try that when I get a chance - next week I expect.

for Martha not being happy. Hope that she is better tonight.

I just buy nurofen and calpol. Dd won't take any medicine so the colour doesn't really matter, although she'd actually be more likely to take a pink one! Ds had both tonight, only about 20 mins apart probably, but the poor lamb was screeching even when being held and cuddled after just the calpol. Not a peep out of him for the last 3 hours, so he'll prob go and wake just after I go to bed in a few minutes!

Evening all! Great to hear from you MM. I'm glad everything has gone well and that your recovery will be quicker than you thought. When will you be allowed home?

Poor ds CSWS- I hope he gets a good nights sleep, it sounds as if the meds are working so far.

I have just spent the last two hours trying to get my Next sale order to go through. Got an invite to do it early as a directory customer and found loads for ds. However it has been the most frustrating thing I've done for a long while. Dh also pointed out I've probably spent all the money we would have saved on the phone to the Next helpline...he's probably right. The thing is once I start something I'm like a dog with a bone

I think it might be going through now...I'll probably still be here in 2 hours. I must get a life.

RachieW · 15/07/2009 22:32

Yay it has gone through. Must go to bed now and talk to dh as all he has heard me say all night is things like "it's crashed again", "oooh it's working" "bugger it's crashed again"

Star- Meant to post earlier that I think you were very brave to give Q calprol given your allergies. I would have sat in the A&E car park too, actually probably the waiting room!

Ekka · 15/07/2009 22:41

MM I'm glad you are feeling ok after your op, sorry about the ovary, but here's hoping you have a really speedy recovery. I hope that M is calmer tonight...

Star, that allergy sounds frightening, I can see why you'd be worried about giving Q anything. Actually we gave dd far more medicine than we've had to give ds so far, though he is showing no signs of teething yet

CSWS, poor D with his teeth. I'm glad that they are coming through now.

Myjob, I hope you find something you like on Tuesday.

We didn't have the best day today, as both dd and ds didn't really nap so were really grumpy. Then this afternoon I was putting something into the car, dd opened the front door to watch me (I hadn't shut it properly) and ds promptly got a bit excited, crawled really fast out of the front door and fell down the step . Its not a high step, only about 2-3 inches, but he was really upset and now has a red bump on his nose poor chap....

aubergenie · 16/07/2009 07:38

I agree with CSWS that you need the raisins, or some alternative, to make the cake sweet, Star.

CSWS - I'm not sure whether the recipe originally came from. It was posted on a BLW blog site I'm on with some friends but the poster didn't say where it came from.

star6 · 16/07/2009 07:54

aww poor ds ekka probably scary for him.

oh will try to make home made baked beans - didn't think of that!

DH won't eat raisins and neither will Q so far, so might just have to have an unsweet cake

purpleflower · 16/07/2009 10:33

Grr, my nasty neighbours are at it again! I've had a call from the letting agents that they have had another complaint about the hedge so I run around like a blue arse fly tidying up and then they phone back that actually they can't make it today but they will come tomorrow. It's an inch over the path FFS. They complained about 3 months ago and it's been cut twice since then

I'm glad you are doing ok MM and that you are better than expected.

I'll try that banana cake when I get off my fat arse get a chance.

maybe try dates or dried apricots star? If you aren't using raisins make sure the bananas are really ripe (almost too ripe is best!)

Hi all

mm glad all went well, sorry that poor M is not taking bottle and they never had a good night, hope they sort your meds! I never saw your DH's post so assuming he announced all yours and his details!!! SO they did takt the ovary out?

hm hows the christening gown shopping going? Thought of you again in sainsburys today as saw a pretty white dress there only £10 and not long but I presume you want something maybe different?

myjob yeh for sofas, what they like? did you have to wait long for them?

pf glad you feeling a bit betterm men can be difficult although I do think maybe someone needs to talk to your DH about how you feel so he can understand. Would he see a Dr with you? Would that help him understand how you feel etc? Sorry about your hedge too! Is it over their path or the main path?

rachie soooooooooooooo jealous, I want an invite for next sale, always spend shed loads there and have not had an invite for yonks

ekka poor DS, they do have bumps and bruises now, and also to you and your ds csws
DD1 got a beer bottle land on her head today and fell over outside sainsburys!

Flet so rotten yesterday and headache today, think its because I had such a stressy day at work with my crappy hearing, really struggle to hear patients or lots of people talking together and it made me feel , I came home and wanted to go to bed and ended up balling my eyes out instead, DH was great and the nicer he was the more I cried , he thinks I should just do 12 weeks and then finish and not work as its upsetting me too much. Can deal with people I know and being at home but work is hard as lots of people with personality disorders and depressed who speak so quiet! Anyway, whinge over but I am feeling pretty poo about it but know there are stacks worse off!

Gotto go and give P her bottle, she had her 8 month check tues and passed, HV was really pleased with her and how she is doing and what she eats!
18lbs 8 and 76 cm long!

jenwa · 16/07/2009 13:26

sorry myjob, not sure the answer, can you use butter icing?
