I also popped on earlier but it was very quiet so I went into the garden

Ds crawled off the bed today I was in the shower and Dh had him, he turned around for a split second and off ds went. I heard a thud and a man-arrrrgh-scream so rushed in sopping wet with a bloody hand towel trying to cover me (first thing I could grab). Ds was fine, cried and then laughed when I did peebo, poor dh was shaking! I was secretly quite proud of myself as instead of doing my usual screeching at dh I gave him a hug. Really though it could have been me as I also put ds on the bed, no more though. Although maybe now J will have learnt about edges and height

Glad you had a good trip Jenwa- am off to nose at your fb photos now.

jenwa · 05/07/2009 21:08

ekka glad you enjoyed your hols. I am sure your Dc will settle again but no doubt had a fab time away too and just need to re adjust.

csws so cant make tomorrow but will be up for a meet up at warwick castle. Hope you have a lovely day though with star and myjob pistachio Yeh, people say she is very like me although I think she has DH's cheeks although she is also like my sis who Phoebe also looks like too! She def has big eyes like my sis. Not at all looking forward to work, really dont want to go but maybe it is worse than I think, I am scared about being out the house at 7:30 am and being organised also being away from kids after 9 months off! Have enjoyed my time off and although will be a nice break from DD1 I will miss them both! Agree though that I am looking forward to some time away from them even if it is just so I can sit and eat my lunch in peace Sorry you are also feeling tired, it is awful and its horrible trying to cope when you feel shattered!

RachieW · 05/07/2009 21:08

Ooh enjoy your meet up tomo too!

Honeymoonmummy · 05/07/2009 21:20

Sooo jealous of the meet-up

Rachie, scary! I've already started "training" Poppy to get herself off the bed safely, she thinks she's it when she realises she's standing on the floor! She pulled herself up to standing 1st time yesterday and nearly pushed herself up to sitting.

Pistachio, exactly right, I feel sooo much worse when I've not slept. Poppy decided she wanted a feed at 4.30 am this morning so, once again, I've spent most of the day in bed I think these AD's are making me more tired than usual. Altho the heat always knocks me out. Right, smells like my garlic bread is done yum (sorry Ekka! )

aubergenie · 05/07/2009 22:06

It has been quiet on here today. I've been busy getting ready for work and fretting about leaving enough food/milk for S. I'm sure it'll be fine, but I'm a bit anxious about finding a space to express at lunchtime as our school is VERY overcrowded.

Spent ages doing an Asda online shop (Sshhh, don't tell Pepper. But I do like their eco nappies, and have found that lots of their own brand stuff is quite low in salt.), then had to pop into the bedroom to give S his bedtime feed and settle him. Went back about half an hour later and they'd loggoed me off and emptied my trolley due to inactivity. Arrrghhhh! I've got to start all over again. Tescos in protest though, this time.

Rachie - scary about the bed. It's only a matter of time before ds does the same, I reckon.

Right off to bed. Have fun at your meet-up tomorrow! Very

CantSleepWontSleep · 05/07/2009 22:31

Right, 2 episodes watched, so now I'm off to bed.

What's happened to MM? Did she say she was going away, or is she awol?

Good luck for first day back aubergenie.

Internet has not been working and I am too tired to catch up tonight!

Just wanted to say good luck for tomorrow Aubergenie. And to everyone else in London tomorrow, have fun! Hope it's a nice day for you.

RachieW · 05/07/2009 22:33

Good luck Aubergenie!

Honeymoonmummy · 05/07/2009 23:25

Good luck for work Aubergenie! Night all!

loulou33 · 06/07/2009 10:02

Hope work is going ok Aubergenie. Shopping online is a pig when it crashes and loses everything.

Jewa - good luck for weds.
Hopethe meet-up goes well in London and the weather is ok.

DH and i went out on sat to a barbecue with friends and staggered home at gone midnight ....suffice to say both boys were up at 6am so we were both a little fragile yesterday. Luckily MIL was helping out and took boys to local fun day (very loud, bright and full of children - not great with a hangover).

Better do some work i suppose

RachieW · 06/07/2009 10:24

What a crap start to the day. Ds and I slept in a bit late which was lovely. Then had a call from ds nursery for sept checking that we were coming in at 10am today for our initial visit. Unfortunately though no one at the nursery had told us about this appt . Anyway said we'd come in so rushed round feeding ds, cleaning up as bloody dh had gone to jury service and not even bothered to load the dishwasher. Despite not needing to leave until 9.15 and having been up since 7.30 Got ds in the car seat, bag packed, opened the front door and realised that dh has the car as he is on jury service. Ahhhhhhh

Had to phone the Nursery and explain...must sound like a complete idiot.

pepperrabbit · 06/07/2009 10:59

Rachie - poor thing! I'm sure they don't think you're an idiot - it's a bit much when they hadn't even told you about the appt!
aubergenie & jenwa - good luck with going back to work this week, I've got 2 months left and I'm already worried about it - haven't dared try o any work clothes as tummy def not at all the same size and shape as before. and please don't feel you have to apologise for shopping at Asda!!!!!! It's just our local one here that's terrifying! (and I know this obviously cos I do actually go there.....)
Raining here, and DS2 has completely lost the ability to amuse himself indoors and is driving me up the wall. DD planning escape from her cot I suspect - she soooo wants to crawl, but just wiggles her bottom in the air and growls at the moment. Either that or she wants to be a puppy .

CantSleepWontSleep · 06/07/2009 17:50

Quiet on here today .

Thanks for a lovely day ladies. Made it home on the fast train, and just finishing tea before bath and bedtime and then out for dd's consultation evening at school.

Sorry rachie, but at your story of today.

Marthasmama · 06/07/2009 20:18

Just looked at the video on FB. I am soooooo ! In the end I had to cancel everything I was doing today as M has a virus and is very unhappy. She has been boiling hot all day and very sleepy. DH took her to the dr and she has an inflamed throat & ears. Poor thing. She kept trying t spit food out rather than swallowing it!

Rachie - I don't drive so I haven't the exact same problem, but if I had a pound for every time I got ready to go out, only to remember at the last minute that the pushchair was in the car I wouldn't need to go back to work! What a PITA for you.

Pepper - M is still doing dog impressions. What is it with our girls?

Aubergenie - Hope your first day back went well. I bet you're knackered!!!

RachieW · 06/07/2009 20:21

Thanks Peppa and CSWS- actually am seeing the funny side now! Especially as a letter from the nursery was delivered about 12pm asking us to come in today at 10am. It was addressed to Rachel & Michael??? Have no idea who Michael is... it's def not dh Does this bode well for Sept

Glad you had a good day CSWS.

Peppa hope the rain stopped and you got out with the dcs

star6 · 06/07/2009 20:41

Aubergenie - I hope first day went ok... email or fb message me for some tips on expressing...etc for S while you're at work.

Rachie - lol that you call pepperrabbit 'peppa'! I think that's so funny!

Had a great day with csws and myjob. Both lovely ladies with beautiful babies Quinlan went to sleep at 8.15 perfect summer bedtime after a busy day. Going to try to not let him out of his cot in the night, though... and limit feeds....

I was thinking again today, MM about your dh hanging your ds from the washing line... omg that's just TOO funny!! It's such man thinking. And hilarious! EVEN MORE FUNNY is that I mentioned it to myjob and her dh and myjob's dh said "was he being naughty?" HA!!! he thought he was hanging him up for punishment. This keeps getting funnier... sorry ladies... sometimes I get something in my head that makes me giggle and I just can't let it go

RachieW · 06/07/2009 20:46

Oops sorry Pepper! Not Peppa , I am clearly putting Milkshake on to much for ds of a morning and becoming a bit obsessed with Peppa Pig!

star6 · 06/07/2009 20:54

Rachie - I thought it was accent!
It's funny!

Marthasmama · 06/07/2009 20:56

Star - We were talking about that at the weekend as we were saying that we really need to get a new one sorted out.

jenwa · 06/07/2009 21:04

So jealous of you ladies today but glad you all had a lovely time
csws D looks like he will be a big chap his trousers were full of nappy they all look sooo cute. Oh and csws what does D have round his neck?
rachie at your day but can see how annoying it would have been! Yes wonder who the mystery Michael is??

star you make me laugh, that happens to me when I think of something, so embarrasing when you in public and get the giggles about something and when you tell someone it never seems so funny to them hehe though!

Phoebe is waving now, so exciting as she waved when I came back from London, sooo sweet. She missed DH today as he has been looking after her the weekend and I think she was not impressed he was not here!

mm poor M hope she is ok?

Marthasmama · 06/07/2009 21:07

Jenwa - She's ok really. She has been trying to be herself, but she really hasn't been. Poor little monkey. I wanted to ask, is The Foo, P's nickname? If so, very funny as we call M the Moo and DS the Poo!!! Ha ha ha. We're so mature!

RachieW · 06/07/2009 21:13

Star- see what you mean now! I've still got a bit of a midlands twang to my accent otherwise I guess I would say 'Peppa' being a londoner

MM- didn't see your post before but it is a PITA! I'm sure I lost half my brain when ds was born. Hope M get's better soon, it's horrible being ill but even worse in the heat.

RachieW · 06/07/2009 21:17

MM we call ds Doodles...makes him sound like a puppy or a scribble
