Marthasmama · 01/07/2009 22:42

Ok. I'll put one on if it will let me.....

CantSleepWontSleep · 01/07/2009 22:44

I will be 36 a month today, and I'm NOT old!

Thanks for info re South Ken on District Line. Very useful if it weren't for the fact that I will be arriving on the Picadilly . I have a McClaren that was bought for trips like this.

I want to see the baby naming pictures too MM.

Ds can cruise a little, when he can be bothered. He was so funny the other day, because he tipped his walker so that the handle was on the floor, along with one set of wheels, and the other wheels were in the air, and he gripped the top and sort of slid/wheeled it along the floor whilst walking to keep up with it until it stopped against the sofa!

I would be very quiet on a conference call as I hate talking on the phone.

MM, DD has uneven leg creases which the HV has told me to take her to the docs about, She crawls and stands. She will also take a couple of steps holding my hand but her left foot is very turned out. When she twists herself around crawling it's always her left that looks a bit different.

DD is only about 21/22lbs but she is huge, I couldn't squeeze her into the 9-12s anymore! DS is big though, he has just gone into 3-4y and is only 2.9, a few months ago he was 35lb.

ronshar · 01/07/2009 22:51

Me to CSWS. I have been trying to watch House at the same time. Keep missing stuff and having to rewind!!! Taking ages to get through Sundays episode! OOO House has gone to Cuttys house.

purpleflower · 01/07/2009 22:55

I watched it on Sunday Ronshar, very good ending

CantSleepWontSleep · 01/07/2009 22:57

Don't tell me ANYTHING about the plot of House. I am only half way through the first series, but am getting through several a week at the moment!

OP posts:
ronshar · 01/07/2009 22:57

I wanted him to go in.
Why did the HV recommend you go to doc? What exactly do you mean by leg creases?

purpleflower · 01/07/2009 23:00

The fat lines on her legs don't line up and under her bum too. It can show problems with hips.

ronshar · 01/07/2009 23:00

Come on MM. I want to go to bed.
CSWS have you sky+ House? I love him, even with the limp

Marthasmama · 01/07/2009 23:01

Sorry ladies, the picture won't load because I'm it's too big. Ah well.

ronshar · 01/07/2009 23:01

I see. Did DD have probs with hips when she was born?

purpleflower · 01/07/2009 23:03

No no problems at all, I just mentioned it as MM mentioned it earlier. I did have a twisted thigh bone when I was born that has corrected itself over the years so I will definitely get her checked out

Marthasmama · 01/07/2009 23:05

Purple - The ones under her bum are even but the ones further down don't line up. She does turns her foot in a bit when she's standing but it's hard to see if anything is wrong as she whirls & twists around loads. Have you been to the dr yet? I am wondering whether to bypass my HV and just go to the GP.

Marthasmama · 01/07/2009 23:07

X-post. I am sur DS had twisted thigh bones, can't remember what it was called. DH did as a child and was very pigeoned toed, until his dad literally beat it out of him. DS used to look like his legs were doing windmill actions when he ran, it was really funny bless him. His legs are much better now, it is something that corrects itself.

purpleflower · 01/07/2009 23:08

Both of DD's are out which is why the HV said to go, she said not to worry as she is moving around ok. Her leg goes out rather than in. I'm going to make her an appointment for next week

ronshar · 01/07/2009 23:09

Go to GP, first as you may need ortho referal.

I am sure your pics are lovely. Try tomorrow. I will not forget.

W has woken so off to bed. He sounds like an air raid siren. Wwwwwwwwwwwaaaaaaaaaaa

purpleflower · 01/07/2009 23:11

I can remember going to see a specialist when I was around four. I can't remember exactly what was said though and there isn't anyone I can ask. I kicked my feet in very slightly and still do and when I walked my little toes kind of turned under themselves so my feet were flat but my little toes were on the side. I didn't realise it was common though, I've never heard of anyone else having it TBH.

CantSleepWontSleep · 01/07/2009 23:13

in bed now so my last post for tonight.
Friend had series 1-4 I think digitally, so dh has copied onto his ipod.

Q had feotal tallipes (SP????? no clue how that's spelled actually, shamefully) - his feet were pointing IN at birth because of how he was squished up inside of me. He was scheduled a paed appt to ultra sound and check his hips for 9 weeks age (they scheduled this the day after he was born in the hospital). We went along, had the ultrasound and paed said he was fine. His fat lines line up.

He pulls himself to standing on anything - even a flat wall . We're scared as we dont want him to walk yet . He's a proficient crawler and can get from place to place that way well and I know that the leg/hand coordination and spatial awareness gained from crawling is very important, so we're happy he's been doing it for about a month now. I just don't want him to walk as it will be a whole new world.... can't imagine it! I don't think he will, though. He's quite sturdy and can cruise and sit from a stand, but doesn't look sturdy enough to actually walk.

He will take steps if you hold his hands with your fingers.... but he RUNS - quick steps.... it's strange. His toes are always curled, too, so I just think it can't be good for him. The OT at my school told me NOT to hold his hands and walk with him like that too much at this age because it's not great for him. Sometimes she said is ok, but not a lot. Who knows if she's right

jenwa · 02/07/2009 08:28

right, I am not on here for one night and come back to me being a clean freak and a serial ranter

I promise I dont moan that much re in laws, gosh, I feel bad now was having afew bad days! No one will want to meet me now you will all think I am a moaner

did pmsl at your cleaning comments, I dont mind a bit of cleaning, keeps me quiet too although would not want you to think my house was perfect because I live with a man and I go to bed and come down in the morning to madness again!!!!! I wish everything was in its place but I have to except it wont be

So hot and sticky again this am. One way of sweating of the jelly belly may have a hoover in a mo!

We going next door today to a princess party, I am not dressing as a princess though

mm I would have liked ot see pics of you at M's naming day. I think you are funky looking at your pics and I dont know why you worry

As for age I am 33 and actually keep forgetting this! Told my sis off for putting it in my b'day card as she was wrong then realised whe was right!!!

P hates standing, well only just doing it but want push down, she normally pulls her feet up under her, think dd1 did like to try though.
Gotto go and sort the little monkeys now

jenwa · 02/07/2009 08:29

oh and def up for warwick castle meet up too.

Told Dh about the trip on monday and he said I should go but I said I would not be able to take P and that would be a shame so wont be coming unless my train gets cancelled on sun and I am stuck in london overnight!

Marthasmama · 02/07/2009 08:53

Awww Jenwa. You know I was only teasing about the in-laws. I do my fair share of moaning about mine too!

Honeymoonmummy · 02/07/2009 10:02

Poppy now has 3 teeth!!! They're coming thick and fast now! We brushed her teeth for the first time last night, so cute

Jenwa I need you to moan about PIL's so my moaning about aching/ PND/ everything doesn't sound so bad

Leg crease thing is a revelation! I had no idea, I'm off to check Poppy's creases - not that she has many, she's so long and thin. Altho she's getting such a big belly now, she eats loads! I wouldn't be surprised if we have a big weight gain today, going shortly, last went 2 weeks ago and she'd put on 10oz in a week then!

Did I tell you we tried Poppy in a paddling pool with water for the first time yesterday, she loved it
