Hello fairysparkles. My DS also born 29 Jan. We might have a list somewhere that someone clever can dig out!

Anyone else the wrong side of 35 on this thread and getting a bit freaked about all these threads and stories about fertility post 35?

Your family in Suffolk Simps?

Mine are coming up this week. I am bridesmaiding at cousin's wedding up here on Weds. My Dad is retiring at the end of June. He has been agonising about it for ages (because my mum has been unable to work for 25 years his is the only pension that they will need to live on) but finally decided to go at 61. So hope to see a bit more of them from now on.

simpson · 20/06/2009 11:11

My dad's side of the family is from Suffolk but now live in Norfolk so technically should support the Scum

My dad is retiring next yr at the age of 61 too.

Yep am over 35.

But doesn't look like I'll be having any more Dcs

LaTrucha · 20/06/2009 16:43

I'll be over 35 (ie. 36) in July! I do get freaked out about it. If I do the right things to get pregnant, I kind of expect to get pg but it's not that simple it seems . I have talked to GP and as I conceived DD after 5 months and had mc after 3 months this time she thinks there's no need to worry. I still do. I just wish I had all the babes I wanted and could just get on with it!

Hi Farysparkles - so what's your LO up to today then?

Well, I think Sabela has been reading my recent postings on MN because she has started deliberatley leaving furniture to walk to the next piece today and also SAT UP while on the bed this morning. So, to all of those you who told me she would do it in her own time, a big shiny rosette with a picture of a very happy LaTrucha pinned to it for you!

LaTrucha · 20/06/2009 17:10

BTW Ange - GP also said there's very little difference between 36 and 37 as ages to conceive

Lilyloo · 20/06/2009 21:27

Hi all

Just got back from staying at my mum's overnight.

The Dcs shared a room and were quite shocking

J woke up sobbing at 1am but did quieten down after me going in about 3 times then he woke M up and she was awake for at least 3 hrs

So whole family was very bleary eyed today!!

Good news is my mum has offered to have them overnight on Sat next weekend and give me a night off!!

And a lie in!!

Gingeme · 21/06/2009 20:16

Hi fairysparkles how are you ? Good luck with dc number2
Well apart from the 4.30 start on Saturday we have had a fab weekend
Yesterday afternoon we all went to Lee Valley farm. Had a great time and had a pic nic. Then after we came home the big boys went to see Transporters 2. It was brilliant
This morning I did my Race For Life. Wow what a buzz. Great atmosphere. This afternoon we went to my sil for a BBQ. Just great.
Not looking forward to tomm though Iam going to my GP in the morning to find out my results of my ECG and blood tests.
Wish me luck x

AngeChica · 21/06/2009 20:23

well done Gingeme

here's hoping your test results will be fine.

stayed out at friends' last night, took food and drink round to another friend who has a newborn and DH kept my friend's husband company. DS was very unsettled despite sleeping really well all night in travel cot previous weekend. He was just being silly and attention seeking half the night, hoying dummy and blanket out of cot etc. Something in the aire eh Simps?

We have had a lovely day today, Sunday lunch at pub, car boot and lots of playing out and fresh air to hopefully wear DS out. Fingers crossed, cos I have to drive to Carlisle for a work meeting tomorrow and need to catch up on some sleep.

simpson · 21/06/2009 20:49

Gingeme - well done on race for life

Fingers X tomorrow goes well for you

Ange - hope long drive ok tom and you get sleep tonight!!

M went to bed at 5.30 and as soon as she was in her room (still in my arms) she kept saying "bye bye" so I think she wanted me to go and leave her to sleep!!

LaTrucha · 21/06/2009 21:07

Fingers crossed it's good news tomorrow Gingeme. Sounds like a fab weekend.

Ange - hope LO doesn't keep up the antics tonight and have a good drive tomorrow.

Simpson - cute. Sabela often waves night night to me when I put her in her cot. If you'd told me that was possible 8 months ago, I never would have believed you!

Lilyloo- hope you mad eit up with your dad!

We've had a lovely day too. Went up for a chin wag with a friend this morning and then this sfternoon another friend and her husband came wound with their toddler to take Sabela off my hands so I could get on with something I wanted to do. Complete surprise and very useful as I really need to saftey proof now. Unfortunately, discovered that the stair gates I bought months ago are too narrow and that I'm missing some screws. The shop is now closed and the owner now a new friend. Bit perplexed about what to do there I did wield the drill and fit the cupboard locks though

simpson · 21/06/2009 22:27

have just had row chat with the not so lovely people at sky

And found out I may lose broadband for up to 3wks while its switched from H's name to mine

So if I disappear for a bit thats why!!

They said it should go in the next 2 days

nicky6 · 21/06/2009 22:30

been nice having dh home, blackout blinds seem to be doing trick last night went down without a peep at 7 through til 7.30 hoorah, however tonight playing up for 30 mins or so when went down, maybe she knows daddy off for another week - q to cross legs for one more week.

just ordered double buggy the new o baby - exactly as per phil and ted but £200 cheaper - bonus.

ANyway if you suddenly dont hear from me for a bit its probably because labour has reared its ugly head. I read some of our labour posts - particularly some people posting whilst in early stages - made me smile.

Anyway must go

simpson · 22/06/2009 11:17

Hi all

still online

But it could go at any moment

have already lost most of my sky channels

This is all because H stopped direct debit to sky and gave no notice

Thank God he is in ireland ATM as I would be up on a murder charge

Also just had row with idiots people at council tax office too complicated to explain!!!

Good news is my mum has offered to pay for me to have a cleaner as its impossible to keep house clean by myself with 2 littleys. Cleaner will come once a week for 3hrs and do the horrid jobs

Will sort that out when I am back from holiday.

Nicky - sounds like you got a good bargain on the double buggy front

Gingeme · 22/06/2009 14:04

Afternoon ladies.
I went to my gp today. All is well. It would seem I have indegestion I have been given tablets to take one a day and then back to my gp to see how I am. Phew!
Sounds like your close then Nicky6. Glad the blinds are working of sorts. I never found them to make much difference tbh. The boys seem to sleep better with navy blue curtains. Plus you dont get a gap round the sides where the light comes through.Great bargain on the buggy front though.
at the Council Tax and Sky simpon. about the cleaner. Lucky you.
Lucky you LaTrucha on your short spell of childlessness. Mind you my sil took David back to hers after our race so we were one less child to deal with.
Well thats about it from me.
Did FairySparkles return?

LaTrucha · 22/06/2009 22:34

Gingeme - glad all is well. Phew!

She didn't yet. How's it going FairySparkles?

Well, I managed to snap one of my new door latches. I toyed with the idea of getting magnalocks but think I'll just buy a box of palstic latches and replace them when necessary.

On the good side, I posted here about my stairgates and the lady who used to run the shop identified me and is going to help me out tomorow. We're going baby swimiing together tomorrow!

It's odd. I feel like a whole other phase of her life is starting and it's so exciting!

Am going to look sat nurseries in the next few days. DH wants to put her in one so I can brush up my Spanish and get some transaltion work. It was only when I was ringing them I realised I don't want to put her in nursery. She's MY baby and I look after her!

Simpson - are you still there? Will it really be weeks before you're back on?

madmouse · 22/06/2009 22:45

Hi all

Hope you are ok - Nicky6 good luck - hope baby waits until dh comes home and then appears pronto.

Gingeme glad it is indigestion not heart - but glad they drew that conclusion after proper examinations.

MIL's funeral is tomorrow. And because in Holland funerals have to take place within 5 days all arrangements have to be done very quickly - exhausting. All done now - except the paperwork that will come after.

We are coming home on Wednesday and I can't wait. Poor Nathan is getting more and more unsettled. Has been everywhere with us, was in the room when his nana died, was there when we cleared the room, tonight had to come to funeral home for last goodbyes, daddy is upset all the time, mummy is stressed and shouts poor lad does not get it anymore?

madmouse · 22/06/2009 22:55

oh and Nathan is getting more and more mobile on his tummy! Caught him picky ivy (eeeek) leaves out of step-mum's plant put this morning, how did he get there? We keep forgetting he can push himself around now. Makes me really happy though!

simpson · 23/06/2009 09:47

Am still here

madmouse - go Nathan, will be thinking of you today....

Gingeme - thats fab news on results

LaT - what are you going to do re nursery??

yes once broadband gone will be a while before I am back on but am thinking of just getting dial up for a few weeks depends on how annoying slow I find it!!

Otherwise I will use computers in library maybe twice a week to keep an eye on things

nicky6 · 23/06/2009 11:29

hi all thinking of you madmouse.

Nursery not bad as long as clean, structured and great staff. I felt the same when i went back to work and boo hooed but actually charlie loves it there and I often just stay around for half an hour and play too but she just goes off. She tells me the names of all the other children that are there and I can honestly say that I dont feel the same way about it as I did. BUT the staff are absolutely lovely and very clued up and not young girls in their teens.

Went to midwife this morning head down 2-3/5 engaged so birth imminent she says (well she doesnt think i will go too much overdue - good news. Says baby is long her prediction is 8lb2oz and another girl. We will see I still think its a boy but doubting now.

anyway must go - lots to do.

Gingeme · 23/06/2009 11:43

Thinking of you today madmouse
Wow Nicky6 its all so exciting. I loved the last few days when its all so iminenent
Yey Nathan. Good lad keeping Mummy on her toes
We have just got in from playgroup. George wasn't his usual social self today. Lots of falling over and crying There was a lady there selling books today so I bought a 'My First French word book' for ds3 as he will be learning French in year 1 so I thought I'd give him a head start
Just collected a bit more sponsor money from my hair dresser. Thats £130 I raised altogether. Will ring them this afternoon and pay it in on my card.
Well off to get some lunch now.
Hope your all enjoying the sunshine x

LaTrucha · 23/06/2009 15:12

Well, we went to look at the nursery and it's great. They have loads of stuff to do, lots of kiddies she knows there blah blah blah. My hesart is seriously not in it. DH will have a fit if I don't do it. He needs to know that at some point in the future I'm going to start bearing the financial burden in a job I enjoy and which means I can still spend most of the time with Sabela. Also, if I get hyperemesis again everything will be far easier if she's already in nursery. It's just the idea of not being her full-time carer makes my heart sink. Pretty selfish of me.

Sabela thought it was just abou the best thing on earth Apart from me!

simpson · 23/06/2009 17:33

Hi all

LaT - what are you going to do re nursery?

Nicky - when is your due date again?

Gingeme - well done on raising all that money

Cannot believe how bad it is not having sky

All the channels were gone this morning and broadband normally goes 24hrs later so the bloke said

J been moaning all day that he can't watch lazy town. Of course his DVDs just won't do

M's eating getting a bit bad

Unfortunately now she can talk she asks for things ie biscuits, rice cake (new word) fruit etc.

So plan of action is for Dcs to eat tea together at table (have been lax and let J eat in front of TV

J has reward chart stuck on fridge as he won't be happy but hopefully M will start eating more if she is with him.

JustKeepSwimming · 23/06/2009 17:38

Lily. Live with my ears permanemently clogged due to chronic ear infections as a kid. If you have an infection you'll need antibiotics. Hot water bottle wrapped in towel on the ear. The most hardcore painkillers you can get your hands on (any co-codamols etc.) might not kill the pain completely but might help you sleep a bit.

I hope the day went OK Madmouse .

at the Bermuda shorts JKS.

Lucky? Looks like trip to zoo was fun.

at LOs talking. A is still just babbling . It's quite odd, it's as if he is mimicking real words and conversation, but what is coming out just sounds like gobbledigook. Not unduly concerned though...

He slept 7-6 yesterday without even the brief wakenings he's still been doing. Let's hope for a repeat, we have a VERY busy day tomorrow with the wedding. Venue (my aunt & uncle have a cafe and art gallery) is extremely un-child-friendly (3 floors, lots of stairs).
