Madmouse - she can't do these two

'she can stand herself up in her cot if she wants to, she can work herself into a sitting position from pushing up'

She onbly gets to a sort of kneeling position int he cot (hard to tell with the grobag on - and yes I have tried leaving it off. She didn't play ball!)

I am trying to leave her to it. THen I feel like I'm not playing with her. THen we both get frustrated!

She will play with things around her for a while, especially if I am not there but I don't know how much of this is acceptable and when it starts going to neglect! If something is out of reach she'll try to reach it for a few seconds - and then she'll give up and play with something she can reach - like her hands . She's never fallen for the 'leave a favourite toy just out of reach' trick.

I feel it is more psychological - a matter of confidence but I don't know how to improve her confidence. I give her a hundred cuddles and kisses butif I'm suppsoed to be leaving her more to it, then what? I do try and help her with moving but more often than not she doesn't like it. She really doesn't seem to see the point of pulling herself up.

all fine here. DH under quite a lot of pressure, I think he is worried about me over doing it whilst he is working away. 2.5 weeks to go.......

charlie gorgeous.

charlie into new room and seems to be going down ok but is waking up much earlier ....... I know i shouldnt complain but i am not used to her waking at 6.15 - i think its cos her room is so much lighter so have just ordered some velcro blackout blinds - what do you think will it make a difference?

anyway switching her clothes to new room, packing hospital bag and putting baby clothes away and getting everything ready is the plan for the week.
be back soon - unless i go into labour early

madmouse · 14/06/2009 20:24

Sorry LaT obviously have not been paying enough attention - thought she had been standing in her cot sorry. So she can only sit when you plonk her on her bottom? I would expect her to be able to find a way into sitting now, otherwise she would be at the same sitting stage as Nathan. although hopefully with less wobbling. Wish we lived closer, I can show you how to teach a child to get into sitting - although Nathan has not mastered it yet.

I must say there are probably several hours a day when Nathan rolls around on his mat with his multitude of toys and I just sit nearby and do my own thing. Personally I think it is healthy. We often have a conversation going (arreh wabbewab - oh really, why?-eh dadda bahada - I see..etc) but I don't play with him all the time.

Still don't think there is any serious concern - have a hunch she is one sharp little lady who will when she is ready just get up and get on with it. But you can ask hv/gp to refer you to paediatric physio to have a look at her. They have a real eye for these things.

Afternoon ladies.
How are you feeling Simpson? How is M? On the mend I hope.
David has an awful cough too. Been waking him up at night . Not realy alot to you can do for a cough though.
Nicky sounds like your nesting to me
Lillyloo busy busy busy. The joys of motherhood eh?
Not alot happening here today. Just pottering about washing and stuff.
Thinking of getting my legs waxed. Anyone had experience? They do arm pits too. One thing I realy hate is itchy pits after shaving them

simpson · 15/06/2009 16:20

Hi all

Feeling a bit better this afternoon

M still not good has very chesty cough. Sounds like she smokes 100 a day

Managed to get my neighbour to listen out for her (they were in front garden)and just gave them spare key when I got J from pre school as I thought she really needed the sleep.

She would have been a bit shocked I think to have someone she doesn't know in her room, but luckily she stayed asleep...

Madmouse - hope you are ok hun?

Gingeme - sorry to hear David got cough too

Lilyloo - Hope you feel better soon. Nice weather here so we will probably get the pants weather tom.

Nicky - cannot beleive you only have 2wks to go Glad Charlie doing well

LaT - did you make appt with doc? Sounds like sabela got a mind of her own!!

Lucky - where are you??

JKS - well done on fixing computer yourself!! Good luck with the shopping.

Hi to anyone I have missed...must dash M wants out of highchair...

madmouse · 15/06/2009 16:35

Hi all well doctor has rung from Holland they have stopped treatment for MIL, she will die in the next week or so - we are leaving first thing wednesday and stay til after funeral dh so sad.

LaTrucha · 15/06/2009 18:14

That's really rough Madmouse. I'm so sorry for your DH. Yet, she will be peaceful and in no pain and have her family with her. I hope DH can find some peace in her going well if she has to go.

Gingeme · 15/06/2009 19:31

So sorry to hear this madmouse

simpson · 16/06/2009 09:06

have woken Molly this morning and she is really quite ill

She has temp of 39.2 and is very chesty.

She has worried me slightly as she seems to be panting

Luckily we are at doc's at 10.30 (existing appt re M's poo problems)

M is still tucking into her breakfast and ATM is counting her malties

JustKeepSwimming · 16/06/2009 09:45

Calpol & hope for the best at the docs?

if she's eating it can't be too bad surely?

Madmouse - sorry to hear about MIL, thoughts for you all

um, fallen behind with everyone else, hello and will see if there's anything i should have said in a mo!

JustKeepSwimming · 16/06/2009 09:49

LaT - if H (& T) are ever happy playing by themselves i seize the moment and MN do something else! lol. they come and find me whenever they've had enough or obv i go and find them if i hear screams

Nicky - not long now, yey! don't overdo things, esp with dh away, hope he comes back soon. blackout blinds would prob help, but might not, T has gone through phases or early waking and nothing we do seems to interfere...

Lily - we will have to get our tent up in the garden soon i think!

G - how's D? Had my legs waxed once and it bloody hurt!! i'm maybe a wuss but honestly i haven't braved it again. maybe if you take some neurofen, rescue remedy & a stiff gin beforehand it might be ok....maybe...!

right, T at pre-sch, H sleeping, i should be getting on with jobs.
PIL here later, and Dh & I off to Bermuda tomorrow!!!!! x100000000000!

madmouse · 16/06/2009 09:50

poor M Simpson hope it is nothing to worry about - breakfast must be a good sign surely. Let me know how you got on at docs.

Gingeme · 16/06/2009 12:16

How did M get on Simpson ?
Lol JKS I have made my appt for next Weds. Having half my legs done and my under arms. If it hurts too bad I'll carry on shaving
How are you today madmouse? Silly question I know.
I was cheeky this morning and asked my hairdresser and pharmacist for sponsors for Sunday. A client even sponsored me too
George woke at 5am today. Gave him a bottle in hope he would return to sleep but he didn't so DH got up with him and they are both asleep now.
Hey Lucky where are you? All ok with you I hope
We might go for a pic nic later. Not sure what with we have no food in the cupboards

simpson · 16/06/2009 12:17

Just back from docs.

She has chest & throat infection

GP also says if she does that panting thing again rush her straight to A & E

Have to take her back to docs on thursday.

Just hope J doesn't get it...

JKS - very of your trip!!

madmouse · 16/06/2009 13:38

simpson Molly so poorly. Panting probably just fever

simpson · 16/06/2009 14:29

yes panting is deffo due to fever but doc said to take her to A & E if it happens again as she had had maximum about of meds I could give her and still hot.

Also she said breathing very quickly or panting tires them out quicker so may need to be seen.

She seems ok in herself a bit lethargic maybe but still eating, talking etc.

LaTrucha · 16/06/2009 16:55

Hope Molly is ok.

Sabela very woke at 5.15, cried a bit, and then went back to sleep until 7am! It's a pity I couldn't sleep last night

I thikn she may be sickening for something too as she's very tired this afternoon too. Or maybe it was all the swimming she did this morning!
