JustKeepSwimming · 18/09/2009 06:34

Enjoy Simpson

Up early with H this morning 5.45

Wondering if we'll make it to playgroup now...(starts at 9.30, thinking he'll be well ready for bed by then)

DH off to PIL with T after lunch for tonight and tomorrow, so H & I can chill - and I can sleep hopefully....

Gingeme · 18/09/2009 12:44

Simpson.
I hope you have a restful weekend JKS.
We have been to playgroup. George was Mr Clingon though
Going to Kidz Biz this afternoon to sort out Edwards party. Found a nice bakery yesterday that will make a number 3 cake for us.
Might go swimming on Sunday as DH has that day off.
Right time for some lunch.

LaTrucha · 18/09/2009 14:06

Hi Ladies,

Just a quick one as I have my Friday ironing mountain to tackle while LO is asleep.

Had a lovely time with Madmouse yesterday (as you will know if you've met her!) Nathan was a darling; Sabela a little quiet and didn;t eat but a little love on the train there and back.

Having terrible time with her shoes! She seems to have gone from a G to a D fitting! And she needs buckles as she can remove velcro in seconds... Cue LaT in shops being told mums like velcro (not this one), that they don't stock a walking shoe under a 4, and that the don't MAKE a walking shoe with a D fitting.

Much hair pulling....

JKS's website may have saved the day. Thanks JKS

simpson · 18/09/2009 17:56

LaT - we are having a nightmare with shoes here too

Vecro ones also off in seconds and we nearly lost one on the way back from shoe shop having just bought it

So taking it back to clarks for refund as the only ones they do with buckle is patent shiny black ie not practical.

At least M is now a size 4 though....

LaTrucha · 18/09/2009 18:47

Oh, tell me about the black patent. And anyway, who wants to buy black shoes for a ababy when they'll be in school shoes soon enough.

LaTrucha · 18/09/2009 19:22

Simpson - have I posted anything on Facebook? I've tried twice, but it looks to me as if I haven't.

simpson · 18/09/2009 19:25

Luckily the is a god shoe shop near my mums (not a chain but a one off) so am hoping to get something from there on Sunday.

Meanwhile she is wearing a pair of Fifi trainers that flash everytime she walks which were given to me by a friend.

Had a battle to get them off for bed I can tell you

Will check FB for you when finished plowing

simpson · 18/09/2009 19:27

No can't see anything on FB

Lilyloo · 18/09/2009 19:42

LaT is that shoesforkids ?
Noticed some plain white ones on there when looking for M and thought of you although she has big feet 5.5!
Bought H school shoes from there , startrite, sole fell off within a week. Had to go and buy a new pair at local shoe shop , cost me 55 quid as thought i would have to return others to them. Emailed them and they said bin them and they would send me another pair next day or give full refund. Gutted as H had walked out of shop with other pair on so got refund the next day. Great customer service imo!

Simps how was Lazy Town ?

OP posts:
simpson · 18/09/2009 19:54

shoesforkids - is fab

Have used them loads of times for J but TBH I need to see the shoes for M as physiotherapist said make sure the back of the shoe is nice and thick to give her extra support.

Lilyloo - Lazy town really good but could not beleive how empty the theatre was. You could tell we are in the middle of a recession

M loved it more than J and I was totally as she sat through the whole thing mesmerized without saying "up" "down" "out" etc

Mind you, she was eating too

JustKeepSwimming · 18/09/2009 22:02

Hi from me, fallen behind again.

Good evening with H - he danced

hope for more progress tomorrow, and i will try and catch up properly.

AngeChica · 18/09/2009 22:19

just checking in... LOL at the special brew.

Got new shoes for DS last week - he is now a 7G having been an H fitting for his summer doodles.

Madmouse DS is exactly same stage as nathan re speaking. He is using his own sounds for words despite understanding us perfectly when we use the right ones. It's quite frustrating on both sides but I'm not getting too stressed about it.

DS woke at 5.20 last 3 mornings .

Where is Lucky, on holiday? She's gone from my neighbour list on FV!

simpson · 18/09/2009 22:29

Ange - are you geared up for the game next weekend??

Its on BBC I think....

Yes Lucky gone on FV here too, maybe she got bored with it

at A being a 7 shoe size M just going into a 4.

The talking front is fab here. M looked out of the window yesterday when it was raining and sang "rain rain go away, come again another day"

Ok pronounication not 100% but I knew what she meant iyswim.

But TBH am still really worried about her walking She went through a couple of days where she was better but has got worse again.

She was so bad yesterday that she fell badly and landed on the side of my wooden desk and split her head open

Breaks my heart TBH seeing her struggling to walk and she gets very frustrated

Think a phonecall to her physio is in order I think....

AngeChica · 18/09/2009 23:25

yes hopeful emoticon) that we win otherwise there will be stick up here.

hope you can get more physio quick. Has she a dx of anything? DH and various in his family have this hypermobility thing but it's quite mild.

simpson · 19/09/2009 18:47

Ange - she has just been diagnosed with severe hyper mobility especially in knees and hips.

TBH that is one of the reasons for buying the 8ft trampoline to strengthen the muscles in her legs which will make her walk better.

Also got a 2nd hand zebra bouncy thing (is that what A is on in your pic?) for her legs too.

Ok soooo excited

Am off clubbing with the girls

Am going to go wild!!!

Well, ok not too wild but to have a good time

Lilyloo · 19/09/2009 20:50

Simps hope you spinning round a pole or similair now

Took M to docs yesterday after terrible week with her eczema , back to steroids again given her skin is bleeding and like tissue paper not sure that is going to help!!!

OP posts:
simpson · 20/09/2009 10:44

Actually not too bad really considering I did not get in till 2am

Lilyloo - sorry to hear of M's ecxema Did you get any oilatum for the bath??

JKS - been thinking of you hun. Keep us posted on H. Wish I could do more to help ((hugs))

JustKeepSwimming · 20/09/2009 14:37

Hi all - sorry way behind, can't catch up easily!

Drama yesterday with H, his breathing went funny, got an out-of-hours appt, ended up staying in overnight - his breathing was really not great. Had 2-hrly nebuliser through the night - dh came home last night as planned, then came into hosp so he stayed last night & I got a relatively decent night's sleep.
They suspected swine flu but think we talked them out of that - though we will hear results on Tues. Didn't want him to have tamiflu for no good reason.
He's on ABs for a throat infection.
On Ventalin for a viral chest infection.
with open pass back into children's ward if needed.

Will have to see what GOSH say tomorrow re our Wed appt & tests

Anyway he & DH are sleeping.
DS1 & I are in the 'cinema' - popcorn made, curtains shut, film on, me MNing

Hope you are all ok, no more dramas please!

Gingeme · 20/09/2009 20:27

OMG JKS poor all of you. xxxx
Glad you had a good night out Simpson and your not too hungover
We went to see what our new houses are going to be like this afternoon. We are currently in 4 story flats which are subsiding quite badly. The council are building 2 and 3 bedroom maisonettes and houses nearby and moving us into them They reckon it will start next May but then again this is Enfield council so we won't hold our breaths Oh but my dream will come true as we will be getting our very own garden. I can just see the washing blowing in the breeze now Doesn't take much to make me happy

Lilyloo · 20/09/2009 20:30

JKS hope he is on the mend now!!!!

Simps glad you had a good night and not suffering too much. I already had oilatum for the bath and cream which she says keep using!

Gingeme sounds lovely , i bet the boys will love having a garden

OP posts:
JustKeepSwimming · 20/09/2009 20:34

Oh Gingeme - i would be soooo so pleased for you to get one of those houses!!!

You were talking about it when we met up at yours and I can picture the view out the window - have they cleared the ground yet?

Will take ages i'm sure but will be so exciting to see progress out the window!

H's breathing wasn't great again after his nap, DH gave him his nebuliser and said it made a massive difference so we may try again in the night even if he's asleep. DH actually said H often falls asleep during it.
I have to get him to show me tomorrow morning before he goes to work

and he's returned to grumpiness, grr.
hope the ab's kick in soon too and he can get back to progressing. can't believe fri was the first seizure-free day in months, then we got all this!!!

Q:
T stayed with PIL a few weeks ago when we were in GOSH. He met some friends of PIL. The guy has written us a letter saying how fab T is, 'gifted' etc. Not really sure how to take it but that a stranger thinks my DC is fab!!
(pretty sure he's not btw, think this guy has limited exposure to kids)

JustKeepSwimming · 20/09/2009 20:35

Lily - x-post.
How is her skin looking now?

Lilyloo · 20/09/2009 20:45

JKS that is a lovely thing to do what a nice man , take it as a great complement and something to smile about missed that H had first seizure free day typical that he then get's poorly!!

Thinner but she stopped scratching as much and slept better last night so mustn't be irritating her as much, but think she is getting it on her face now Not sure why it all seems to be erupting now as she has been mostly clear of it for 6months now!!
Am lathering oilatum on so hopefully that will help , if not back on Friday to try something else!!

OP posts:
Lilyloo · 21/09/2009 12:30
