Sorry to hear about M's walking problems. Don't feel badly about it though. I'm sure I need reminding to be my best for Sabela sometimes. Maybe every day! It must be so hard to put her in bare feet if she seems inhibited when she's barefoot.

Gingeme · 13/09/2009 18:51

Afternoon ladies.
Simpson so pleased the party went well and the weather held for you. Very unusual about M's walking. I thought she would have been better in bare feet tbh.
JKS it all sounds realy positive doesn't it? I am very pleased for you
lillyloo. What can you do for her excema? Do you know what brins it on?
Well we had the best time at South End yesterday All the boys were on their bestest behaviour and we had delicious fish and chips for lunch. Walked along the beach in the sunshine. Went to the rides and all went on plenty of rides and had great fun. Left about 9pm.
Today went shopping. Just DH and I which is a very rare accurance as ds1 and ds2 looked after ds3 while ds4 and ds5 had their nap Then when they woke we went to our community fete where I met my cousin who I haven't seen in yonks and caught up.
DH making boiled eggs and soldiers now then bath time and bed time

LaTrucha · 14/09/2009 15:49

Hi all !

Lily - did you have any luck with the doctor?

Simpson - how's it going today?

Gingeme - that sounds gorgeous. And I see that teenagers can be useful to have!

JKS - how are the new meds going?

We're having a nice day here. Playground with a friend this morning and a trip to the hprses this afternoon.

Sabela seems to be branching out in her speaking finally. We've had things like mama, dada, anana etc but her first real word that she had to make a new sound to say it was .....

Peepo! - as in, 'read me the book'. Super cute.

JustKeepSwimming · 14/09/2009 20:46

Evening all

Simps - glad the party went well So to hear about M's walking - is it due to her hypermobility (sp?) Don't feel bad - you are her best mum ever!!

Lilyloo - poor M any help today from docs?

Gingeme - you came here!! and i was away! tell me next time you're coming and all our boys can meet up! (and your big ones can look after all the little ones, while we go and have a glass of chilled white, lol!)

LaT - Sabela is so cute!

Well the new meds seem to be kicking in properly now. He had some nods today but not many and was awake for loads of the day 6-11 & 2-7
made it to the supermarket & round the corner (T was at nursery - his last day there as i've given up work).

been a bit emotional about the changes - another step H's epilepsy has forced us to take that we weren't planning to.

hey ho. let's see what tomorrow brings....

hope everyone's well

Gingeme · 14/09/2009 21:12

JKS I know just typical eh? We will definately be visiting South End again soon though Great news about H
Lillyloo how is dd's excema ? Any better over the weekend?
LaTrucha it sounds like Sabela is realy starting to chat now. Georges new word is 'again' usualy said after Ive blown raspberries on his belly
Edward went to pre school today. He is there 5 days now instead of 3. Hes just loving it. David and Edward are in the bunk beds now so for his nap we tried putting George into Edwards toddler bed. Oh no he wasn't interested. H e just got straight out and played back in his cot he went
He thought it was highly hilarious though.......

Lilyloo · 14/09/2009 21:31

Well dp tried metanium nappy cream on it and it has really dried up the weeping so am now using oilatum to moisturise and it seems to be working (fingers crossed) so didn't bother with docs.

LaT M saying a few more things now , Sabela sounds like a real cutie now

Gingeme at the big boys sitting the lo's! Think we going to have the same with M she still in our room and would love to put her in bunks with L but i know our incredible climbing girl would have other ideas!

JKS sounds really good on the 'nods' front ? Shame about work , could you always return if things settle down with H ?

Am finding M is really getting into everything today. She starts by dragging chair to fish bowl and putting half tub fish food in tank , whilst i am looking for net to scoop it out she then pours a drink L had left on table all over the floor , am now looking for mop and net whilst she get's new tube of toothpaste and luckily it has silver seal on it or would have been another disaster!

Simps don't feel bad!

LaTrucha · 15/09/2009 09:02

So, Sabela can't start off saying normal things like 'dog' ....

Her new trick is a singsong 'rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr' like Tigger's 'grr'. It's had us in stitches. We didn't teach her it at all. We've been trying to get her to say, 'Papa'.

LaTrucha · 15/09/2009 09:42

Would this outfit suit anybody? I have a very strong sentimental attachment to it. It was my Mum's. She wore it to my wedding and that might be the only time she wore it. It's from Hobbs and is in perfect condition. It's special because she was too ill to go for shopping for clothes so I bought it for her and it was miraculous because she liked everything and it fitted. It doesn't suit me. It doesn't feel right ebaying it but it's too nice sit in my wardrobe doing nothing.

It is

Hobbs dress in chocolate brown with a cream polka dot. 14

Hobbs cream short fitted jacket. 12

Hobbs size 6 brown sandals. Flat, front bar, peep toe and ankle strap.

I don't want anything for it from a friend RL or virtual!

I would post a pic of Mum wearing it but it might be a bit freaky. I will if you want me to.

It is very smart and nice. Not old ladyish.I've been umming and ahing over what to do with it. It would be fab if one of youcould use it.

Gingeme · 15/09/2009 13:06

Afternoon ladies. A real wet one here today
The outfit sounds lovely Lat but its been some time since Ive been a size 14
Lillyloo that is why Edward has an Anyway up cup and David has a sports bottle otherwise I would be forever with the mop out. Mum always mentions Davids 'bottle' and said he should be drinking from a 'proper' cup now. He can Mum its just I don't want my floor awash with juice
I had a terrible migrane last night not sure why exactly. Luckily I slept well but still feel fuzzy headed today Ah well better fet some lunch then try to have a snooze while the boys are seeping

Gingeme · 15/09/2009 13:07

How many typos in that last post ?

LaTrucha · 15/09/2009 15:12

Ugh Just had the most frustrating lunchtime!

Sabela is mad on going out at the moment and is usually standing by the door with her shoes in her hand at 6.55am. So, this morning, I thought, 'Ok. I slept alright - let's go out and stay out until swimmin 1-2. So we went out a about 9.45, to the beach, the playground, the museum, then swimming.

You would think she would be ready for lunch, no?

Actually she was overtired, wouldn't eat and screamed all the way home. We're supposed to go out again, NOW, to an appointment but she's just gone to sleep and there is no way I'm waking her. I'm exhausted!

I won't be making that mistake again!

Lilyloo · 15/09/2009 21:12

LaT you can't win sometimes can you
your mums outfit sounds lovely , too big for me i'm afraid , i hope someone else can use it!
How's your dad doing ?

Gingeme been lovely here today but can feel the cold coming in even with the sun shining! I know M does have sippy cups but she always wants and sometimes get's L and H!

Notyhing much done here today , took dp car for MOT which failed so spent a couple of hours walking around town whilst they did it. Not much fun shopping with no money!!!

How's MM anyone spoken to her on Fb ?
Quiet on here ....

LaTrucha · 15/09/2009 21:30

Seeing MM on Thursday.

madmouse · 16/09/2009 11:31

Hi all

Hi Lily, sorry for unfaithfulness and thanks for asking! Still reading this thread but just find it difficult to post on here for some reason. I do chat to JKS, Simpson and some others on fb.

Am struggling pretty badly with my mental health tbh, really needing lots of support from Peter/friends. Therapy starting properly on Friday and am now at least of work for 3 months to begin with so less stress.

Nathan doing fab though apart from refusal to speak words. Talks a lot, uses different vowels and consonants, intonation, conversation, volume, great understanding of what we say to him, gives meaning to his own words...but nothing bar 'daddy'. He is commando crawling fast now and physio yesterday excited about his walking holding her hands.

Lovely to hear all little ones doing so well

LaTrucha · 16/09/2009 13:17

I told DH I fancied a beer with dinner last night (we very rarely drink) and he came home with Special Brew.

He thought it would be 'Special' for me.

These things happen when you have a DH from a different country.

Anyone want one? It's sitting in my fridge looking shameful.

reallywoundup · 16/09/2009 18:07

LaT- bless him! [snurk] get thee down to barclays corner and sit with the tramps

LaTrucha · 16/09/2009 19:09

I haven't TOLD him why I won't drink> I just said something about it being, 'A bit strong.'

reallywoundup · 16/09/2009 19:18

i can just imagine you with Aber's finest specimen's of humanity enjoying a can of special brew under the pier did DH have any?

Lilyloo · 16/09/2009 20:12

LaT lovely gift !!! Have nice day with MM tom!

MM lovely to hear from you , sorry things still not good but N sounds like he is doing great. Have nice day tom with LaT and fingers crossed Friday is the start of things getting better for you x

M loving In the night garden at the minute so thinking xmas pressies may have that theme , oh and anything dog related!!
Anyone made a start yet ? (Except Simps who is prob finished )

OP posts:
LaTrucha · 16/09/2009 20:47

I have a Duplo house set for Christmas and

  1. Farm animal set
  2. Play Doh set
  3. Maybe cooking thingies

for her birthday.

And maybe some 'Hello Kitty' pyjamas, but I think it's me that wants them!

I did have a trike until DH gave it to her . The way she sits on it she looks like a mini hell's angel!

Gingeme · 17/09/2009 14:21

Christmas? and Ithought Iwas organised getting ds4's birthday sorted for next month. Thoug Iwould like to start my Christmas shopping but DH would probably think I'm mad
Not much to report here realy. George has a funny quirk of when we ask him something like does he want a dring he says yeahhhhhhhhhhh in along whispery voice

simpson · 17/09/2009 14:30

God I am having one of those days today

DD being very high maintenance

Yes Xmas shopping sort of done

DS has got a bike and I have asked my mum to get the helmet and DD has got a toy kitchen.

I do need to get maybe 3 smaller pressies per child and do stockings.

ELC do some fab glow in the dark stars BTW great for stocking fillers I bought 2 yesterday

simpson · 17/09/2009 14:34

Just wondered where Madmouse was on FB then realised she is meeting LaT today. Hope you have a grest day guys

Is it just me or is every post in this thread gone bold??

simpson · 17/09/2009 14:57

M has just totally cracked me up

Went to take her upstairs for nappy change and she insisted on saying bye bye to everything!!

"Bye bye chair" "bye bye window" "bye bye phone" etc...

JustKeepSwimming · 17/09/2009 16:20

Hello all

Gingeme - def tell me next time you are coming, we could take over the beach with all our boys

Lilyloo - i could return to work in theory but prob won't for quite a while, when they're both in school maybe !
M is brilliant at creating havoc isn't she!

LaT - outfit sounds nice but too big for me, hope you can find a good home for it. But the main thing is you have the photo & memories of your mum wearing it
Hope you & MM having a good day
(photos?)
Oh and I PMSL at your DH & the special brew, what does he think you are like?!!?! did you ever get a nice beer?

Simpson - yes this has gone bold, weird, only thread i'm on that is has happened to, who broke it?????
M is hysterical!

Re Christmas:

  • massive bundle of cars/vehicles from eBay (cost £10, I've made my money back selling the ones we already had!!) = free
  • some odd bits from the Factory Shop the other day
  • some stacking cups for H (we've lost one from our current set, drives me crackers), not that he's up to building the tower or anything yet but have very few ideas for him right now and they were cheap in Asda

think that's it. I still have the Happyland castle from T's birthday as my parents haven't been up to give it to him x lots
and his balance bike which i meant to give him for his birthday but didn't get round to.

T I have loads of ideas, esp when i flip through the ELC catalogues, lol
but not so many ideas for H, thinking of asking PIL & P for £ for his account instead, unless i get inspired.

Oh and i do have some Christmassy pjs for H that i bought last year

H doing ok-ish, awake more than he was, but not as much as the few days last week when he got up to 11 hours awake in total. not too many nods atm which is nice. speech trying to come i think but really early days.
plus GOSH have called us back for more tests next week - to rule out Tuberous Sclerosis which we thought they had ruled out with his ct scan
