LaT - don't worry, i was being a misery guts yesterday! i refuse to be one today

Simpson - any broadband will do
It's such a relief when all the groups restart isn't it?!

Lily - thanks to you too

So, H was up for 2 hours this morning & had a cluster of spasms = no improvement
then:
woke at 10ish = a change

so we popped out to my old bf group and caught up with people there & had a cup of tea

Then collected T, home for lunch, he had a play, then went to bed about 1ish.

So 3 hours up = improvement ....

will see what comes next. today is first day on target dose of new drugs. we should know in the next couple of days (before Fri appt) if it's working so i just need to find some patience from somewhere

Gingeme · 08/09/2009 16:10

Good afternoon ladies.
I am glad to see your looking at things in a more positive light today JKS
Simpson we started back at Tuesday playgroup today. It was mighty quiet as alot of the children went up into nursery so only the little ones there now. Edwrad starts pre school tomorrow. He can't wait. Every time we go past it he says 'go to Dees school now?'. Dee being the lovely lady who runs it
I bought David some school trousers size 6-7 thinking hes done a whole lot of growing in the summer hols but you could pull them up under his chin and he didn't have to wear socks iyswim
So we went to Asda to get him some 5-6. They didn't have any. Rushed to Tesco and got him 4 pairs. Put a pair on him this morning and their still miles too long. I'm going to buy some Wonder Web tomorrow and have a go at turning them up
Right off to make the boys their shakey shakes then off to Farmville

simpson · 08/09/2009 17:27

Gingeme - bless Edward for being excited, hope he is ok tom.

Yes toddler group here pretty quiet too. One of the mums brought her 7wk old baby for the first time. Made me want another, not that that is going to happen obviously

Am off to seaside tomorrow, am most excited. I think I am more excited than J

A few of my RL friends who I met through J's pre school (their kids are all 4 and starting f/t school in the next wk or so depending on birth day) are all going together.

We have hired a mini bus. Just got to get J's car seat down from loft

simpson · 08/09/2009 20:24

Ok have just been the better person and texted both of H's sisters thanking them for pressies for J (even though one of them was a gun )

Better not hold my breath for a reply

But am well chuffed as a friend has just found us a trampoline (8 ft) for only eighty quid!! Brand new too...

JustKeepSwimming · 09/09/2009 11:07

Morning all

Gingeme - did Edward go into pre-sch happily today? Good luck with the trousers! I'm so not capable of doing stuff like that - sewing buttons back on is my limit!

Simps - well done you. maintain the higher moral ground at all times
Hope you are having a good day at the seaside (not near me by any chance?)
The boys love our trampoline, a great investment.

Well things are possibly, maybe creeping towards being ever-so-slightly more positive....!
H was awake in the night crying & having a few nods - that's not the positive bit btw.
then was up for nearly 3hrs this morning without too much grumpiness. if i wake him at 12 (to get T from pre-sch) and he stays up till 3, then a quick nap before tea, he should make it to nearly 8 hours awake - yesterday was 7.75 - as compared to his previous normal of 6.

No major signs of development but fingers still crossed!

Gingeme · 09/09/2009 12:43

Yes thankyou JKS Edward was very pleased to be back at 'Dees school'
As for sewing etc I am rubbish at it too. I have bought this wonder web stuff, well its Wilkos own make, and you put it in between the turn up and melt it with an iron. Thats the hteory anyway. Weather or not I'll be able to do it that easily will be seen.
of your trampoline Simpson. I would love a garden to put one in even
JKS we are coming to South End on Saturday if the weather is nice. Might see you there

Lilyloo · 09/09/2009 20:17

Def reccomend the trampoline well worth the money. Glad you got one Simps.

Tentative fingers crossed here JKS.

Gingeme weather suppose to be good for next few days fingers crossed you can get to tge seaside.

LaT M saying more words now too and they are even making sense

Well back to toddler group today , was very busy and M looks so much bigger now the older ones have gone!

OP posts:
simpson · 09/09/2009 21:47

yes am well chuffed with trampoline deal

Just got to persuade my brother to assemble it now

Got back from seaside (bournemouth) about an hr ago. Am allowing myself a glass of red

Was a good day though, although M totally refused to sleep all day was v v grumpy at the end.

Am totally panicking about J's birthday party on Sat and just hope weather will be nice

JKS - fab news on H staying awake longer

Right, off to do some plowing!!

Housemum · 09/09/2009 21:59

Just popping on to keep the thread active in "threads I'm On"!

No new words here ... almost had a "Daddy" this morning, but "look", "uh-oh" and "mummy" seem to get her most things. And anything that moves goes brrm-brrm. Including the toy tiger she was brrm-brrm-ing round the floor earlier, and the horse, and the train...

On the plus side she is v active - we went to Lego on Sun and she loved the slide in the little house in Duplo Land, the one that her middle sister didn't like going down until she was 3!

Housemum · 09/09/2009 22:00

Proud mum boast time - pics of DD2 on New Look website:

New Look

she's in the pink hat on "new in kids 2-10" and black hat on "older girls 7-10" (not bad when she's only 6!)

simpson · 10/09/2009 11:31

Just had to come on and say the mortgage is getting paid

Housing Benefit will kick in from 14th Sept to cover it!!!

JustKeepSwimming · 10/09/2009 11:58

YEY Simps
(phew as well!)

Housemum - love those photos! does she love modelling? she looks like she's enjoying herself anyway.

Well...H up from 6.30 -11 today Dh put him down at 8.30 when he looked tired and i thought, only 2hrs, no improvement after all.
but he wouldn't settle and did not want to be in bed so went in the garden for a bit, walked round the corner for bits for lunch and so on. until 11 when i thought he really ought to have some sleep before lunch....

Will have to wake him in a mo for some lunch then we are driving to london.
GOSH appt tomorrow to review how these drugs are working out & results from CT scan hopefully, then onto PIL to say bye to BIL, SIL & their 2 DC (they are off to Oz on the 21st - emigrating).

Not sure how much i'll be on over the weekend, so have a good one everyone

Lilyloo · 10/09/2009 12:06

Great news Simps

Housemum she is abs gorgeous her hair is lovely!!!

JKS good luck with hospital visit , M usually ready for a sleep at 11 too so fingers crossed.

Having a bit of a nightmare here. Dp has had a run in with the head of H football club. Basically dp coaches ds and his team alongside another coach. They had some problems this week when they had a game. Kit not ready , not enough equipment etc Dp emails head admitedly afterwards realised it could have been worded better.
Head of football then replies to his email , totally slating dp, complete over reaction, and tells dp he won't allow him to coach the team for the forseeable future.
Yesterday angry emails go back and forth. But my issue is the head copied all the other coaches in on this so now has left H open to gossip. Me and dp unsure how to broach it with H as dp will no longer be coaching etc
I am furious with head for compromising H like this any ideas on how to broach this with H and the head from a parents perspective ?

OP posts:
Gingeme · 10/09/2009 12:50

Brilliant news Simpson. I bet thats a load of your mind
Good luck tomorrow JKS. I realy hope they can find a little improvement for H .
Lillyloo sorry how old is ds again? Why didn't dp ring the head instead of emailing him? It might have been explained better personaly . Sorry just my opinion............
Just got back from my Dads. DH helped him move a big cupboard into his place and also sorted his pc out for him. He had tonnes of spam and adverts etc. George had great fun running up and down the balcony. All Dads friends popped out their flats to see him
Edward had another brill morning at his pre school so all is well here today x

Lilyloo · 10/09/2009 12:54

ds is 7 Gingeme , completely agree about ringing as i think head took the original email as a slight on him which wasn't how dp intended it to be. Reason why emails , texts can be lost in translation.
Now head won't speak to him on the phone despite dp trying to ring him.

OP posts:
simpson · 10/09/2009 13:03

Housemum - she looks lovely fab pics.

JKS - fingers X for H and hope tomorrow goes well

Lilyloo - can situation be salvaged with grovelling phone call? Will H be really upset if he (DP) does not coach him?

Yes total weight of my mind TBH.

Have just spoken to H and hinted that I think he should sign house over to me....won't hold my breathe on that one!!

Am supposed to be tidying house for party on sat but feeling lazy and have yet to start!!

Lilyloo · 10/09/2009 13:10

Simps i feeling lazy today too

Think dp has dug his heels in now after the slating he got plus the issues it raises for H making it public
My issue now is H and all the other parents/kids gossiping at training
Don't know how to broach it with him as it really boils down to silly argument between two grown men.
Don't know whether he would be upset r/e dp coaching him as other coach still there.
Men eh!!
Guess will just have to tell him they have had disagreement and hope the other kids haven't been told anymore by their parents!

LaTrucha · 10/09/2009 13:47

Hi all,

Simpson - so happy for you about the mortgage. The weather isn't thie only thing looking sunny today (and BTW I've heard the good weather should hold for J's party)

Lilyloo- Ugh. It's one of those things that's so hard to stop once it's started. Any chance of persuading DH to a man-to-man meeting?

Housemum - she looks very pretty. Congratulations.

JKS - looks really positive re the sleep this morning. Best of luck for tomorrow.

Gingeme - glad you've had such a nice morning and that preschool is going well.

Had a nice morning too. Went to play group and got given some free reusable nappies from someone who got the free council ones but didn't use them. They're quite small but very much appreciated. I must say reusables has been really fine to do. The only problem is getting enough as they are really expensive to buy.

Sabela loves them and will often asked to be changed into one if she's wearing a disposable (we still use them at night and if she needs a change when she's out).

Then lunch, then sleep. Perfect morning.

simpson · 10/09/2009 15:05

LaT - on good weather for Sat

Well, have finally got myself motivated and have weeded in front garden all ready for party and am now MNing, plowing on farmville and cooking Dcs tea at same time

Lilyloo - hopefully parents won't tell their kids what is going on, I know I wouldn't

simpson · 11/09/2009 10:50

Morning

I asked M what she wanted for breakfast this morning, not really expecting an answer though and she said "crisps"

Also have got her walking in house without shoes on for physio and she is falling over every 30 seconds

Lilyloo · 11/09/2009 12:30

LaT cute with Sabela asking ro a reusable

Simps at M breakfast choice. You ready for tom ? What have you got J ?

Well i told H last night a basic version of events , he burst out crying i didn't expect it. He then asked to go in the other team of that age group as he would miss his dad coaching his team
At least he prepared if any kids say anything.
Dp spoke to head over the phone he adamant he sticking to his decision and dp decided can do without the hassle for a voluntary job so hey ho!!
May be for the best as it had meant dp had to look after all the kids rather than concentrate on H and it gives H option of moving to better teams if he can.

Just been to a new toddler group today , couple of mums from school were there. Funnily all our dc's will be in the same class when they start school. Learnt a lot about school politics and was grateful i don't get involved with all that!!

Can't beleive this weather , am devestated i can't go camping this weekend

OP posts:
JustKeepSwimming · 12/09/2009 17:25

Hi all

am a bit behind but will try and catch up.

Hosp appt went well.
his CT scan was clear (checking for something nasty called tuberous sclerosis) so that's a relief
He can increase the new drug (vigabatrin) as it's sort of working and we can go back in 2weeks to review it.
we could try steroids after that - though i hope not
they are discussing his case on tues (15th) so we might hear a timescale/date for surgery after that.

Meanwhile, he is just so awake it's fab & freaky at the same time
about 11 hours a day instead of 6 - major shock to our systems!!!

Even went out this afternoon to some woods & he wanted out of the buggy and walked loads (holding one hand though as was quite uneven ground).

Is feeling pretty positive right now, need him to start (re-)doing stuff now!
He has def signed drink a few times & is generally much more alert and 'with us' than before.

Lily - re the football thing. hope H is ok with it all. why can't you camp this weekend? last minute somewhere? (maybe a bit too last minute now i guess!)

G - how is it just having G at home lots then? almost freedom, lol!

Simps - how has it all gone? fab weather here so hope you had it too. And good luck sorting house issues with H....
How is M's walking today?
oh and i'd like a tube of pringles for breakfast

LaT - free reusables, v good! We used them lots with T, less with H, and not at all at the mo

right, enough from me, bbq this evening at PIL, then home tomorrow.
H up in the night crying & nodding last night, hope for better tonight!

simpson · 12/09/2009 19:18

JKS - that is great news re H Hopefully things will get better as meds increased....

Lilyloo - J's birthday was a couple of wks ago but RL friends were away and J wanted their Dcs at party so we delayed it till this weekend.

Party went v well. Although had panic as bouncy castle has got a hole in but a neighbour saved the day and leant us hers and TBH its a much better/bigger one anyway

Kids had a fab time and J looked most chuffed when he blew his candles out

Only down side to the day is M's walking which is getting worse TBH

She is fine with shoes on but with shoes off she falls over a lot even on flat surface. Think she is worse than she was a month or so ago...will have to wait and see what physio sais in Oct.

Lilyloo · 12/09/2009 20:12

JKS

Simps glad you had good day Not good news r/e M walking though

Had lovely day ta the park today with neighbour and her dc's.
M eczema is reappearing again the back of her knees are red raw and bleeding Not sure why it's so bad , haven't seen it like this since she was a little baby! Has woken her from naps and nightime sleep the last couple of days cue v tired toddler.
Guess trip to docs on Mon.

OP posts:
simpson · 12/09/2009 21:31

TBH feeling very bad about M's walking

physio had said have M in shoes/barefoot 50% each iyswim and I don't think I have done that

But her walking in shoes is getting better, just barefoot is bad

Lilyloo - hope M's skin clears up. Has she had anything new on her skin? Or new washing powder etc?
