LOL SImpson. I often used to find when Sabela was still on pureea and not eating well that I would have washed up after lunch was 'over' only to remember I hadn't had any myself.

simpson · 19/08/2009 17:35

Oh yes that still happens quite a lot here

LaTrucha · 19/08/2009 19:41

Any tips on how to stop Sabela playing with her poo when I change a dirty nappy. She's getting worse and worse. I lost my rag with her tonight, which clearly baffled her. There has to be a better way than that.

madmouse · 19/08/2009 19:47

LaT I would lose my rag over that too!! I do anyway as my slither eel won't remotely lie still for long enough.

I assume you tried her holding a favourite toy?

Outside trick that I use with Nathan when he has a bad one - change him on his tummy, only turn him over for clean nappy - better access for cleaning too.

Lilyloo · 19/08/2009 20:00

If I give her something to hold it gets used to wipe herself [wretch emoticon]

Hi Lily [waves frantically]

Have posted a thread on the nappy problem. Willlet you know if I get any answers that might help with your eel Madmouse. BTW. what about 10th September? Probably not great to do before that as DH going to take a few more days working at home becasue he's off with DB AGAIN in hospital and he may not be impressed if I go galivanting of fby myself.

LuckySalem · 19/08/2009 21:04

I'vé got MN for a little min so I'm posing in the hope that it shows up [fingers crossed]

I'll start with the "me" things then move onto what I can remember reading.

I'm now 9 weeks pregnant and already had a row with a MW! I've been told I can't have a HB (which was a long shot I'll admit) and that in order to have a VBAC i'll need to be in the hospital at 4cms and be monitored continuously! ERMM No?! lol. Got another appt on 7th Sept and then apparently I'll see a consultant after that so I'll speak to him instead of this woman (who incidently was the woman who said I shouldnt HB with Ali as "oh the pain, yo've never felt such pain" [tongues out]

DD is an angel although now that she's learnt "no" she's turning more devilish. I told her No today and I got told back NO and she just carried on with what she was doing. [sigh]

I've been passed to be a foster carer for dogs so we may have a calm, relaxed, child, cat, housetrained dog for a cople of months soon. I'm looking forward to it.

LaT - DD has the same problem with hands in poopy nappy. I just give her a wipe and let her get on with it. I know its not much help but I find it easier than throwing up when her hands are covered in it.

JKS - I'm so sorry to hear abot H. I thought things were getting better. I do hope this surgery is a cure for him.

Simps - Hope your sunburn not too bad.

simpson · 19/08/2009 21:09

LaT - we have the same thing here to re poo in nappy

What I have found thats helps is a firm "no" everytime she touches it, may not stop her but she will learn what she is doing wrong iyswim.

Also I get M to clean face with wet wipe while I do bum.

Or she holds a spare nappy sack or the nappy for me while I clean her.

Not saying these will work miracles but they work best for M

madmouse · 19/08/2009 21:49

LaT we are on hols that week - how about a week later?

simpson · 19/08/2009 22:02

Lucky - 9wks already nearly a quarter of the way there

Grrr Midwife

going into town tom to do some shopping. I want get M a toy doll so she will be taking clothes on and off it a la Sabela

J also needs some sandals.

lilyloo - how is the camping going/ What is happening re Oz??

LaTrucha · 19/08/2009 22:06

Well, I'm glad I'm not the only one frantically throwing wipes in all directions while nappy changing.

Hi Lucky! Grr midwife. Hoep doc is better.

Simpson - you HAVE been warned. Maybe you should train J to do it? And literally anything in her hands she will use to wipe herself with. Even grapes, which someone said worked with their dd. Grim, grim, grim.

Madmouse - The week after is fine. The Thursday?

LaTrucha · 19/08/2009 22:07

Simpson - get a doll whose eyes open and close. Sabela's doesn't but she thinks it's totally amazing when she gets hold of a friend's that does.

simpson · 19/08/2009 22:15

laT

M would not waste food in that way She is constantly stuffing her face is the only way to get 5mins peace TBH.

Think I am in for a bad day tom as M ate a cheesy wotsit crisp on picnic today

very good idea re the eyes on doll!!

madmouse · 19/08/2009 22:42

oh no simps not a cheesy wotsit - groan

LaT yes let's pencil that one in - will depend on therapy dates and how i cope with it

LaTrucha · 20/08/2009 07:29

No problem Madmouse.

How did the wotsit go down - or out?

Lilyloo · 20/08/2009 11:15

Simps the Oz thing has now taken on a whole new set of issues , sil has now said she will pay for dp , H and L so mil said she will pay for me and M so looks like we are all going but v nervous of doing that flight with a 2 year old
We went to Lay Town last week , was really good for the price , H and L loved it we got evacuated half way through and the fire brigade had to come and give all clear. Worked out a good day for a bit of eye candy esp Sportacus

'Lazy town'

OP posts:
LaTrucha · 20/08/2009 11:48

My friend just flew to Mauritius with her very active, walking one year old and it was fine. Glad it's working out.

simpson · 20/08/2009 17:30

Lilyloo - sounds fab re Oz

Glad lazy Town was a hit, we go on 18th Sept. Talking of Lazy Town, spent most of today trying to get Sporticus Tshirt for J as he has out grown his, but could not find one

LaT/Madmouse - wotsit situation seems fine

So I have either been very brave or very stupid and have given M something with milk in for tea

TBH the food cooking thing is getting me down and M has sore bum from all the fruit puddings she has

Bought M's toy doll which is a big hit and she especially likes giving it a bottle and open and shut eyes big hit!! (cheers LaT)

JKS - hope you are ok hun??? Thinking of you, you know where I am if you need to talk/rant etc.

JustKeepSwimming · 20/08/2009 20:50

I'm around Simps, been reading just not feeling too cheerful and will bring everyone down.

going to LazyTown with T on saturday

LaTrucha · 20/08/2009 20:52

WQe'll see how the milk goes down! Hope it's well.

Just popping in to say I'm totally in love with this website. It's got such great things for kiddies bedrooms.

I am sorely tempted by the jungle clock for Sabela but it's madness.

And the jungle interactive picture

Tell me it's ridiculous to spend money on stuff like this.

Although just won this on ebay

LaTrucha · 20/08/2009 20:55

Sorry for the missed apostrophe there.

And can I please have one little rant because I'm not allowed to say it anywhere else but

EVERYONE I KNOW IS PREGNANT OR HAS JUST HAD A BABY AND I'M UPSET BECAUSE I WANT ONE TOO AND AM HAVING NO LUCK! And yes I do mean EVERYONE! ARGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Well, maybe not everyone, but lots and lots.

JustKeepSwimming · 20/08/2009 21:03

LaT - i'm not even ttcing and i'm like that!!!

That website is lovely. the clock is good but that picture is way over-priced. but lovely! if you have the pennies, go for it!
(i saw a similar Christmas one that's about the same price and i held back, may have to get it this year if i can find it)

LaTrucha · 20/08/2009 21:07

HATE TTC.

I think it probably is overpriced but I like the idea of a picture you can take down and play with.

JustKeepSwimming · 20/08/2009 21:26

The irony with ttc is it should be fun but end up being stressful

this is what i fancy for Christmas. 25quid though. may just get it, one day.
