I am very tempted Simpson - they have a keyboard and a table and chairs. ALthough the chairs are plastic and maybe she would slide off all the time? Anyway, with 20 discount I could get the lot for £50.

simpson · 28/07/2009 17:45

yes the chairs that we have have got arms iyswim to stop them sliding down. Although they are not as good quality as the ELC ones.

You can always buy the table there and get chairs from wilkinsons or somewhere.

Which keyboard are you going for?

LaTrucha · 28/07/2009 17:58

probably the one not on a stand. More adaptable. will have another hunt tonight.

simpson · 28/07/2009 18:00

I have found a small cheap keyboard (only small though) in Argos for only £10!! I might get it for J....

They are now stocking all the chad valley toys that woolies used to do

Gingeme · 28/07/2009 18:09

sorry LaTrucha .
We have plastic chairs from Wilkos too. Bit dodgy on a wood floor though
If I remember rightly we bought ds3 a keyboard from ToysRUs which came with a little stall and a microphone. It had tunes built in that you could play along with. He really loved it and it was about the right size for a 2 year old
of your afternoon Simpson could I do with an afternoon like that?
We picked up our tickets and euros well excited now. Will look for cases tomorrow as we didn't have time today.

LuckySalem · 28/07/2009 18:41

Simps - Sorry to hear about the nosebless. You ARE doing a great job though and don't you dare think otherwise.

LaT - Sorry to hear about the swine flu worry.

Table and chairs are ace here and DD will now not sit at her highchair. She prefers the table and chairs so thats something else to go int he attic for a few months.

All ok here still - mega bad heartburn (which didnt come this early or this bad with DD so DP is thinking this one is a boy)
No MS though so shouldnt really complain I spose.
My jeans wont fit already and I'm only about 7 weeks pregnant.
Finding myself becoming forgetful again - have burnt loads of meals cos I forgot they were cooking. I do remember becoming a terrible cook when preg with DD but I only had to feed myself then so this is not good.

Am upto my eyeballs at the mo as we have a charity fundraiser on Saturday to sort out. Finally starting to come together now.
Unfortunately DP put petrol in our DIESEL car yesterday and I REALLY need the car for Saturday as I've gotta run around like a loony.
Take Aaliyah to my nans for 9am, pick up my nains dog (its a dog show and I need to borrow a dog) then go set stuff up, pick ali and nan up again at 11am and at some point that morning pick up my cousin from bus station.
Not to mention that I have to pack a BBQ, kids table & chairs, pasting table and bits for dog into car to take there!!

I HAVE TO HAVE MY CAR!! lol

Hope your all ok

LaTrucha · 28/07/2009 18:50

Simpson - that Keyboard is on the 2 for £15 at Argos. Loads of other ace stuff in it too.

Hi Lucky!

simpson · 28/07/2009 19:10

what is it about my kids and nose bleeds??

M just started screaming in her room and she had tried to stand up in sleeping bag and bumped nose on cot rail....lots of blood.

Lucky - am just tired myself reading about your busy day!! yes had more heartburn with J than M.

LaT - may go and look myself...2 toys for £15 bargain!!

Gingeme - did I mention I was of your holiday!!

Housemum · 28/07/2009 19:21

Hi there - long time since posted so no chance of catching up properly. I'll post what we're up to, and catch up with the rest as we go along...

DD1 has finished GCSEs and we are waiting for results end August. She had fab leavers' ball and looked stunning in her dress. (have added a pic to my profile)

DDs 2 & 3 have been busy with the modelling. DD2 is in the Tesco back-to-school brochure, might also be on some in-store posters, and Amelie will be on the new SMA toddler milk packaging (pics on profile) - she has had her first haircut too, a really cute bob, the lady cut over an inch off at the back (which I have kept, used one of those little hairclips to keep it together and put it in a little plastic box we had)

What DD3 is doing:
walking lots, climbing on things, pointing to what she wants. She isn't saying much (she says look, mummy, ello, bye - sometimes will attempt daddy and ta). She loves dolls and walks round kissing them, also cars (lots of dribble as she goes brrrrm). Appetite up and down, starting to try feeding herself (messy). Has her own "biscuit dance" - she runs to the kitchen cupboard then runs on the spot grinning and pointing like a loony! (Gets very disappointed when the tin is empty though, much like myself)

Talk later - best get DD2 to bed...

JustKeepSwimming · 28/07/2009 20:37

Housemum - hi!!!
Love the pics esp of dds, gorgeous
and well done to your dd1 already, sure her results will be good!
sounds like dd3 is keeping you busy, lol!

Simps - hope nose bleeds stop right now! what are you reading for book club? have never joined one of them but sometimes they seem to read good stuff.
You only don't need the code as your loft is full of J's birthday pressies already lol
Your afternoon sounds lovely!

LaT - will look at Argos too, thanks for the tip!
Hope SF stays well away from your dad.
friend of mine's little girl supposedly had it - had tamiflu but her mum is really not convinced she had it. and i though ti was v contagious but younger sister nor parents got it. so maybe not as bad as the press are making us believe....
the duplo house looks fab so don't take that back.

other ideas....the Little Tikes Peak set is fun - trying to get a set for Christmas! - anything Little Tikes tbh.
anything house/make-believe works too.
and as Simps says anything noisy, lol!

I'm looking out for the LT peak thing and a train table for Christmas, and a playhouse for the garden for now, sod waiting for Christmas! T loves playing in hes friends ones, though i'm not planning on getting a wooden one - too much maintenance, a nice plastic LT one will do me nicely!

H prefers to climb on the sofa, T always preferred/prefers his own chair - we got a folding camping style Lion one, got a Dog one for H but he's not bothered.

Oh and everyone who has it raves about the Ikea storage stuff.

G - it's reassuring to me to hear that you're a little nervous about holiday - you always seem so unflappable re your 5 (7) boys, makes me feel i should be more so with my 2
But of course i hope it's all fab and goes smoothly. what are you doing for accom?

Well had a lovely afternoon out with old NCT friends from being pg with T 2 new babies too, awww. (actually one is cute, the other is HUUUUGE! but still gorgeous!)

No plans for tomorrow as h-sitter cancelled, must try to do something with T to stop him watching tv allll day....
new drugs, one dose in, not expecting much but will let you know if anything changes....

Gingeme · 28/07/2009 21:22

Evening ladies
Wow housemum your girls are just beautiful. Glad you are well.
Sympathy re heartburn Lucky I only had one pregnancy without (tell your DH I have 5 boys so heartburn or not its not an indication) sorry Gggrrr about your car. Lots of luck for Saturday. I'm sure it will all go smoothly on the day .
LOL JKS I am always nervous before I go away with any amount of my boys but going on a plane and being so far away does scare me a bit. I know I won't sleep the night before. I remember when we went in 2002 with DS1 and DS2 and DH's DS1 and DS2 I was pretty ill the few days leading up to it with stress of course it was lovely so I worried for nothing. We are all inclusive. Hotel looks a bit sky scraperish but its only base camp really. DH said the Euros look like Monopoly money
Well I am actually on my own now. DS1 and DS2 are spending the night at their friends and DH at the pub
Watching Harry Potter on Sky1 Movies .
Night all xx

Housemum · 28/07/2009 22:33

Hi - Lucky, how far along are you? Don't know what you've been told re heartburn, everyone told me it meant baby had lots of hair, but 2 of my 3 were baldy-babes and I had heartburn every time!

Gingeme - where are you off to? I can't imagine taking more than my 3, and I have big age gaps so really only 2 young ones! We're going UK this year, off to Wales in a couple of weeks.

Train tables are great, DDs 2 & 3 love it, and can shove a couple of big toy boxes underneath (but we were v lucky and got one in a closing down sale, were at right place at the right time)

Playhouses - depends how long you want it for - plastic ones are good but get outgrown quickly. We bought DD2 a "summerhouse" - same price as a middle-size playhouse from (I think) Homebase but it's got doors big enough for an adult to go in. We painted it cream and blue with garden paint. DD1 had a small one, the £99 ones, but putting stuff away meant stooping over and it used to really fag me off! We painted it cream and blue with garden paint.

What's with the present talk, surely not planning for Xmas already?

Lilyloo · 29/07/2009 13:35

Gingeme · 29/07/2009 13:36

Housemum we are off to Tenerife. We bought some matching luggage today from Wilkinsons. Black and White Polka dots we will certainly spot those on the luggage carousel !
Bought some sticky stuff for later and some paint and paper. Thought we'd have an arty crafty afternoon
Well thats about it from me xx

LuckySalem · 29/07/2009 13:59

we think 7 weeks now.
DP not gonna be happy to hear that it doesn't necisarily mean that we're havin a boy!! lol ahhh won't hurt him.

Have fun on your hols G & HM!!

Present wise. If I had £50 now I'd buy either a trampoline I'd seen or a sandbox - both from ELC

simpson · 29/07/2009 17:18

Hi all

Been a busy day today. Did music class with Dcs this morning then to a friends house for lunch.

M was an absolute nightmare though to the point where I did not enjoy it too much.

TBH M has been bad since we came back from holiday and has started screeching again when I leave room, head banging floor and demanding things when I am busy ie a drink, food etc which she does not want but just wants my attention iyswim.

She also fell out of the patio doors and is now sporting golf ball sized lump on forehead.

Both kids have refused tea and are going to bed on empty tummies although M now having bottle.

JKS - book club really good Currently reading The Observations by jane Harris which is not a book I would have chosen but it seems good

How is H getting on with new meds??

Lilyloo - happy camping, hope weather perks up!!

LaT - what toys did you decide in the end??

Gingeme - of the new luggage. How did art & craft go??

Housemum - good to "see" you!! Love the pics!!

Lucky - wow 7 wks. Have you had any appts yet?

Ok M about to draw on wall had better dash!!

Gingeme · 29/07/2009 20:41

Evening ladies.
Simpson I have put pics on of our busy arty afternoon. Fun was had by all and George discovered that paint really doesn't taste very nice

JustKeepSwimming · 29/07/2009 20:52

G - love the painting pics!! well done on new luggage too. always a good idea not to buy plain black - must remember when i next buy luggage!!
I hope you don't get too nervous about holiday - not worth losing sleep over!!

Housemum - the present talk is because LaT has £50 to spend on Sabela and wanted ideas. but...i have started thinking about Christmas! not done anything yet though
Will look at Homebase thanks

Lily - hey there, hope the rain stops for you all soon!!! glad M is sleeping well, when you come home you'll have to leave her in the travel cot in the tent in the garden

Lucky - i had no real heartburn with either boy sorry!

Simps - sorry to hear about M at the mo H isn't really doing any different yet. only managed an hour awake at lunch-time but was happy enough for a couple of hours, as usual at tea/bed time.
Must finish my current library book before starting anything else - i've had it for ages and renewed it loads!

Not a lot happened here today and off to bed soon - sorry v boring!

Gingeme · 29/07/2009 21:41

Have put a few more pics on FB x

Housemum · 29/07/2009 23:18

Gingeme you have far more patience than me!

LaTrucha · 30/07/2009 16:48

Just popping in a sI didn't want to seem rude about your suggestions.... No decisions made. We're all down with swine flu. Not very nice but I've had worse flu.

madmouse · 31/07/2009 17:47

Oh poor LaT and Sabela and DH - hope you are all on the medn real soon! Missing you - hope to talk soon.

JustKeepSwimming · 31/07/2009 18:43

LaT - wishing you all a swift recovery. Does S have it too? How is she coping?

Madmouse - hi there

G - love all the pics, well done you mad crazy brave woman!

Was looking through some pics of T at this age and realised we don't do loads of stuff with H that we did with T. So, am determined to get him messy with paint this weekend!
Plus: time with wooden puzzles, time on the beach and try and get to the swimming pool - though it's a half hour drive so that last one isn't likely anytime soon....something to aim for.

Had a busy (extra) day at work, knackered now, H already in bed, T & DH in the garden for a pre-bed play

simpson · 31/07/2009 21:05

Hi all

Hope all with the dreaded swine flu get well soon.

JKS - how is H getting on with new meds??

Gingeme - when are you going again?? Started packing yet?

Had bit of a nightmare day TBH My dad flooded my garden by breaking outside tap then wet grass all around house. Grrr

Also filed for divorce today which I am happy about but know it will upset H which I don't want to do despite everything....

Also spoke to HV about M's temper tantrums which I can't cope with anymore and she said basically M is exceptionally bright (was sat at table counting lego ) and she is frustrated and does not know words to communicate her advanced thoughts iyswim and suggests time out in play pen or bean bag.

Will give it a go

J was also grounded for the first time ever for throwing a stone at another little boy

All in all glad today is over But going to RL friend's tomorrow, just hope M behaves herself

madmouse · 31/07/2009 21:17

Simpson - just what I said about M xx
