JKS - hugs hun - re: seeing other kids that are younger and can do more. I know how that one feels!!!You need to allow yourself to feel down about it and then you will find you pick up again all by yourself - stiff upper lip not helpful. Not sure i am happy with a third drug prescribed over the phone with little evidence of them listening to you, but it may be worth giving it a try because what you have now is not working either.

LaT - for you

Hi Ginge - hope the inhalers work well. Great that the whole family supports David - will make it easier for him

Hi to everyone else

Lilyloo · 21/07/2009 20:13

Hey all

LaT sorry the test was a neg and your feeling down great tonic metting bf tom , you will be fine with trains i am sure!

MM how are you and Nathan doing ?

JKS maybe put bit more pressure for explanation why they won't do combo and want to try another if your not happy ? Maybe this little girl is just doing more for her age ?? H seemed just fine when we saw him ?

Simps that's the buggar of a hol. They get out of routine and lot's of attention impossible to carry on at home. She will get back to normal am sure this week. Lol at her new shoes , her talking is great isn't it! Still nothing here from M just lot's of moaning , whining and pulling you to what she wants!

Gingeme well done on the potty training How long to your hols now ? It seems to be flying!

We had good time , weather atrocius on Fri but we managed to get tent up. Was fine and sunny Sat and Sun. Dc's loved it and it suited M 's grubby nature to the ground! However her sleep was atrocious! She was all over the air bed with me , rolling down the side of it , out of sleeping bag and crying on and off all night! Thank god the site was quiet!
So now looking for a decent travel cot that is v small as car packed already!
Hasn't stopped us booking couple days next week though

Anything else from Nicky ? about lo ?

Is lucky chatting to you all on fb ? Miss her on here

I'm here. Things not good . Long story but have had a bit of a meltdown & have been put on AD's and on sick leave, though supposed to be going on holiday on Thurs. Am very with myself for not getting help sooner. I'm sorry but don't want to bore people with self indulgent woes at the moment. So I'll check in again in a few weeks.

Lilyloo · 21/07/2009 20:44

Ange hope you can still get away.
Please feel free to offload here if it helps , we all have x

OP posts:
simpson · 21/07/2009 20:48

We have all off loaded here so please do if it will help you.

Thinking of you hun ((hugs))

And more ((hugs)) for you JKS

madmouse · 21/07/2009 20:55

Ange - this lot has been putting up with my moaning for a good few months now - would love to repeat the favour - find me on facebook if you want to chat too

JustKeepSwimming · 21/07/2009 21:20

Ange - can only echo what others are saying hope the ADs kick in pronto for you!

Lily - not sure.
things she was doing that H doesn't:

  • spoonfeeding herself
  • 'wiping' her mouth with a wipe (sound stupid i know)
  • general babbling that sounds more like words than most things he says.

am feeling more cheerful on 2nd glass of red and after some yummy chocolate cake

Lilyloo · 21/07/2009 21:34

JKS M has always been strong willed so can spoon feed of a fashion (ds didn't spoon feed until he had to (when i refused) at 2 +
but she couldn't wipe her face and says no words other than the 3 she could say 12 mths ago!
Maybe you are just more sensitive to this since his diagnosis ?
Glad the wine and chocs helps!

OP posts:
simpson · 21/07/2009 21:37

JKS - M can't/won't feed herself with spoon (prefers hands!!)

She does clean with wet wipe (well I say clean } but literally in the last wk certainly not at 11mths

Was in cafe today having lunch and an old dear asked me when M was going to be one!!

TBH most people think she is a lot younger than she is. My friends at toddler group all thought she was about 13mths. Don't know if it was the lack of walking as she is not tiny

Hopefully new drug regime will kick in soon for H

Lilyloo · 21/07/2009 21:37

On that note forgot to mention to Simps did you see the newbie starters in Sept thread ?
I was on it r/e L until they started listing all the things their lo could do before starting school

OP posts:
JustKeepSwimming · 21/07/2009 21:42

Oh OK, maybe i was being sensitive, maybe this little girl is advanced, lol!

Lily - that all sounds competitive, yuk!

have wine, candles and choc cake - would have added hot bath but am too warm!

simpson · 21/07/2009 21:43

yes am on it

Although J can't do much

TBH I do know some of the MN people as they are inn my book club

But yes some of their LOs are writing/reading/spelling

J just about knows his name

How is L about starting school?

Lilyloo · 21/07/2009 22:48

L is fine about starting i think , she just said to her pre school teacher on last day , bye i am never coming back again !!!
However her behaviour at home begs to differ!
I just thought it was great talking uniforms , practical and behavioural stuff until the my ds/dd can do x,y,z!!!
How is that helpful to anyone whose lo is starting school in few weeks!
How is J about going ?

OP posts:
simpson · 22/07/2009 08:52

He seems ok about it. Luckily all his friends at nursery are starting too.

Think it will be me sobbing at school gate

He went to the nursery within the school so still going to the same building iyswim

Cannot believe I have got him at home for nearly 10wks though till he starts on 24th Sept

LuckySalem · 22/07/2009 17:58

Hey all,

MN is kinda working for me but I can't read the damn thread so I'm soo sorry if I've missed anything.

Just gonna give a quick update on here and hopefully it'll work properly soon so I can try to catch up with you all.

Aaliyah is a little monster but ever so cute so i'll allow it We have so many words now that its making it easier to look after her as she can explain what she wants better. Even as far as demanding spongebob (spunbob) on the TV!!
There is no stopping her walking anywhere and she had her 18month check which apparently has put her at the top of everything an 18mnth should do and that she has a 24mnth olds social skills. Well is it any wonder when she won't shut up? lol

I'm doing good here too have found out that i'm expecting no2. (FB users please don't post there as I've not really told anyone) Only about 7 weeks past so still keeping fingers crossed that this one sticks.

So thats all the news from this side of the world. Hope your all ok.

simpson · 22/07/2009 18:50

Lucky

Big congrats!!

madmouse · 22/07/2009 19:32

Wish i could too very broody

But soooo chuffed Lucky praying this one sticks as far as any ever deserves these things you do

JustKeepSwimming · 22/07/2009 20:09

Yay Lucky!!! Congrats and lots of sticky glue for you

Lilyloo · 22/07/2009 20:16

Great news Lucky and hope you can stick around to keep us up to date

OP posts:
LuckySalem · 22/07/2009 20:21

MN has worked for a couple of days but I only popped on yesterday cos Aaliyah is at mums for 3 nights and we was having "us" time.

So I'm hoping that it stays working now as I could do with all the MN help to get me through this next one too!! lol

JustKeepSwimming · 23/07/2009 17:21

Lucky - hope you are enjoying your adult time

DH has come home with lots of clothes shopping, some of which i'm a bit about. anyway my face must have said enough as he's taking one thing back....

I did have to say that all i could think was i'm at home with the 2 kids, not able to go anywhere most of the time, trying to deal with H and all the phone calls & decisions about his meds and watching him fall over, and being really tired and he's out spending money, clothes shopping, etc. when i thought he was working. (plus he must have spent loads while i'm tight with my own clothes shopping, grr)

not nice of me and he said he only spent 20mins 'power-shopping' - which explains some of the purchases i guess

anyway all ok now, i think. though i am due some decent clothes shopping too (esp as nothing fits anymore !)

simpson · 23/07/2009 18:31

Grrr had st day today and H has just rung and been a total wanker (sorry to swear!!)

M's walking getting much better and she now tries to walking everywhere rather than crawl.

She does resort to crawling when tired or excited about getting something as its quicker

Lots of new words today "oops" "sore" "horsie"

Went to party at my mum's house yesterday and think someone fed her some strawberries from their bowl which had cream on as we have had 5 poos today and M very sore bum

Lilyloo · 23/07/2009 19:04

Lucky what's 'me' time ?
Closest i got was dp taking H and M to a party this aft and me and L got to visit a friend for couple of hours. How the goalposts change!

JKS well turn tables and tell him you need a power shop too , but will obviously need some lunch etc He can't say no now can he

Simps sorry to hear about M. Even more sorry to hear h is being an arse. Any wine in ??

Nothing much doing here. Going to a dance and drama thing at M toddler group tom. M in creche and L and H joinging in. £1 per child for 10-2 i have to stay though , but you can't have everything

OP posts:
JustKeepSwimming · 23/07/2009 19:35

Simps - grr re H and someone giving M something that's upset her system again.
Hope you have a relaxing evening and tomorrow is a better day.

Lily - lol at new 'me' time! Oh he'd agree no probs, he has no issue with me spending money on proper stuff like decent clothes. it's just i don't, i hold back and shop at primark. it's me being silly not him being unreasonable
even bought some stuff off ebay then it was too big! (i'm now a Boden size 8 & ).

Managed to get out to a bouncy castle fun day for an hour after lunch with the boys - T loved it

Weekend plans:

Dh got a half day tomorrow, i'm going to try and join friends for a birthday picnic lunch in the park, may have to wake H, throw him in the car and go, and leave early but still worth doing. i think.
also need to chase the local docs re changing H's drugs, no phone call from them today.

Not sure about sat & sun, sure Dh will have some work to do, will also send him out with T as much as poss while H and I catch up on sleep. Then can face next week refreshed, hopefully.

What's everyone else up to?

LuckySalem · 23/07/2009 19:48

Well so far all the weekend plans we have are poker night at my mums tomorrow. Normally have loads planned but nothing on.

Me and Oh disagreed on Aaliyah spending 3 nights with My mum. My answer? TOUGH! was lovely but am so glad to have her back :D

Simps - Sorry DH is being a pain and poor M's bum.
