JKS - thanks for aquadraw pen. It arrived today Had totally forgotten about it

M is currently clutching it while she eats her lunch.

Have discovered she can eat crumpets as no soya in them

LaTrucha · 01/07/2009 12:53

SO so tired these last few days. I've had a virus ever since DH left - not very bad but just enough to tire me out and I'm really struggling now. DH may be coming home tomorrow. He was going to book his ticket last night. I'm getting irrationally irritated byt he fact he's not emailed me to let me know. Every time I check my email I get more wound up. Not fair, but ugh.

Sabela, of course, being super clingy. Every time get up to do something - even things she normally plays happily while I'm doing - I feel a little tug at my skirt.

Got to be a bit better than this.

JustKeepSwimming · 01/07/2009 13:32

Simps - that's fine, forgot to tell you i'd posted it! hope it helps

No call from GOSH yet.

Am organising some events coming up in a few weeks and have got lots sorted this morning - lots of people for an afternoon 'garden party' with Pints & Pimms - have ordered the beer barrels (DH's request!).
And a smaller evening do - have ordered some posh canapes from M&S.
And have chased everyone who hasn't replied, or at least left messages - honestly what does RSVP mean?!?!

Have to have a final food & drink list to do nearer the time, and most importantly need to get the Pimms - everywhere has it on special offer atm, so may order online as i never seem to have time to get out of the house.

LaT - ((hugs)) hope dh gets home soon and gives you a rest from the clingon!

Hi everyone else - lots i should be doing before some friends come round in a bit, best get on!

Gingeme · 01/07/2009 14:34

JKS it means Responde vous sil vous plait- please respond

madmouse · 01/07/2009 15:30

LAT you sound a bit down hun - big hug

Simpson yay for crumpets - anything that widens the menu is

Good French Ginge

JKS gettin g tired listening to your organising that all

Right, dh will be ordained priest Saturday so we had lunch at the bishop with all the other candidates and now he has gone off on retreat (after full dress rehearsal in the cathedral - in his cassock ie full length heavy black dress! Poor him - plus press conference) should be arriving at the retreat centre soon. It is a beautiful old vicarage - have been there many times myself - so it should be cool.

He really did not want to go and I did not want him to go so we were both upset and depressed this morning -while he played computer games and I packed his bag (don't ask - better that way honest)both in a foul temper.

So it is me and little man until Saturday - but have lovely friends and tonight is the only night Nathan and I are having tea alone so with support I will cope. Just hope retreat is interesting so dh copes.

Aaaargh too much rambling from me

Gingeme · 01/07/2009 16:17

Merci madmouse

nicky6 · 01/07/2009 16:23

Not caught up but to let you all know little boy Noah James born 29th June 7lb11oz labour 4hrs 40 mins in total completely mad - no pain relief so different to 26hr ordeal last time. back home within 3 hours all a bit surreal. Back to 3 hour feeds cracked nipples etc etc, seems only yesterday was charlie - she seems like enormous lilliput baby by comparison.

madmouse · 01/07/2009 17:29

Nicky you are excused from catching up!

Welcome to Noah James and well done you. Hope you are feeling ok, I know fast labours are not always as great as us slow labourers think they are. Hope you are enjoying your little man and your extended family.

simpson · 01/07/2009 17:38

Nicky - well done and welcome to the world Noah James.

JustKeepSwimming · 01/07/2009 18:36

Nicky - CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
lovely name, is Charlie impressed?
hope the feeds & nipples calm down - at least the second time round you know it's not forever, even when it feels like it.

Gingeme - I KNOW!! but some of these people even said on the phone, 'oh, i thought if i didn't reply you'd know i wasn't coming' ! &

Madmouse - at least you have lots of people on hand, hope DH enjoys (if that's the right word) his retreat. may be good timing in a way, take him away from home and thinking about his mum too much? maybe.

had friends round this afternoon and it was lovely and chilled, the toddlers all played nicely, H slept (of course), the other baby is chilled too and easily entertained.
a jug of Pimms would have topped it off perfectly

right, bathtime in a minute - then ironing mountain to tackle - oh the exciting life i lead!

LaTrucha · 01/07/2009 18:44

Congratulations Nicky6! Welcome to the world, Noah James!

morning all

This heat is zapping my energy

Supposed to do food shop today but the thought of walk to shop and pushing heavy buggy back in this heat is not filling me with joy

Am going on holiday on 11th July am telling myself its a good idea to run supplies in cupboard/freezer down

Have even cooked the kids tea while i still have the energy

LaTrucha · 02/07/2009 13:01

It is a good idea Simpson.

Sorry if TMI but Very odd this morning. I'm around ovulation time in my cycle and occasionally get a spot but this time it's like a full-on AF. HAs anyone else had this? Knackered too.

Gingeme · 02/07/2009 13:06

Its all true Simpson you can't leave a full fridge Where are you going? (nosey emoticon)
George had a bit better night but he hasn't had a pooh yet Downed nearly a packet of rice cakes going round Tesco though
We have decided to try to toilet train Edward next week. Just been talking to his pre school teacher and she says he is ready.Let him go without a nappy on Saturday and he went for about an hour till he weed on the floor.Watch this space
Sorted through Davids books yesterday to take to his fete on Saturday. Took 2 Tesco bags for life Mind you we had read them over and over.
How are you today LaT? Feeling better I hope.
Madmouse?
I hope your all enjoying the good weather. x

Gingeme · 02/07/2009 13:07

X post Lat xx

JustKeepSwimming · 02/07/2009 13:23

Good luck Gingeme! We are still getting no signs from T - so am going to get a proper sticker chart with just sitting on the toilet as a starter.
was hoping to let him go naked lots but he's not happy without a nappy/swim nappy on

Well GOSH called, nice lady

She recommends we increase the Keppra first so we will do that on Saturday.
Then we still have room for one more increase 2 weeks later.
If things don't improve we may come back down a little on the Keppra and re-introduce Epilim.
They are happier with keeping him on one drug if at all possible.

Chatted about other stuff:

  • the area of the brain the dodgy bit's in is not related to sleep so it's not that that causing all the extra sleep (thanks to MM for that q)
  • we do need to address the sleep thing from a quality of life issue
  • surgery is a definite possibility
  • his dysplasia is big but not huge, she said about average for the kids they see (that bizarrely makes me feel better!)
  • they do like to prepare for surgery sooner rather than later, tests, etc.
  • she will arrange an appt for August sometime to follow-up/discuss/see how Keppra is doing by then.

all helpful.

LaT - i do get spotting around OV, sometimes lots. meant to be a sign of extra fertility

Simps - no i wouldn't go big shopping either!

simpson · 02/07/2009 13:48

LaT - fingers X its what JKS says, better get busy

JKS - glad GOSH were helpful. Am confused does it mean that the extra sleep is caused by another reason?

Using sticker chart to improve J's behaviour when he comes in from pre school and it seems to be working so far

Gingeme - good luck with potty/toilet training

Am going to the Isle of Wight on 11th July for a wk.

Unfortunately going to miss meeting at J's school about him going full time but his teacher says she will talk to me next wk

LaTrucha · 02/07/2009 14:43

DH isn't here! Oh no!

LaTrucha · 02/07/2009 14:46

He's coming back tomoorow night. Probably too late

JustKeepSwimming · 02/07/2009 17:21

LaT - might not be, worth a try surely

Simps - not sure i explained properly.
Madmouse was wondering if the damage is in the area that controls sleep which is why his sleep is all over the place, but they said no. it's possibly a side effect of the drugs but unlikely with the drug he's on.
she agreed the main cause of his sleepiness is abnormal brain activity tiring him out.

DH home, boys eating tea, i'm drinking wine

simpson · 02/07/2009 18:21

JKS - sorry now I get it!!

I would not have thought it would be side effect from drugs either as wasn't he sleeping lots before he went on meds?

Am having glass of wine in approx 20mins when J goes to bed. M already in the land of nod She wentvto bed at 5.30 but has not had a daytime nap for 3 days

LaT - give tomorrow night a go

Ginge - how is potty/toilet training going?
