X-posted again!

Hi everyone. Am happy to report that Sebastian slept through for me last night. I however, did no such thing. I woke up every 1-2 hours Maybe I'm just too used to being woken in the night.
I'm having some real problems with BF at the moment, and it's getting really unbearable. His latch has gone all to hell and it's driving me nuts.
Oh he's demanding attention now. Better go make him some breakfast.

cyteen · 02/06/2009 10:01

Morning all A much better night here too, just needing settling at 8.30, then woke up crying at 2am and wouldn't be comforted so I fed him back to sleep. Have stopped giving him the antibiotics as I'm not convinced he needs them and they seem to really upset his tummy - every time he's had them he's had episodes of farting and crying, and grotty poos (sorry lwfh).

Otherwise am happy to report that he is back to his usual delightful cheery self So relieved. He is also getting more mobile by the second, it seems, constantly crawling backwards and turning himself over in my lap. Need to do some proper babyproofing/stairgating etc. very soon I think

Happy birthday pf, great to have you back if only briefly and good to hear that your DH has been putting some time in.

ataraxis hope your DD's cough is on the mend

Can't believe I am going back to work tomorrow Have suggested to DP that we meet up for lunch to get a bit of time just the two of us.

Ann re. the latch, is it possible he's starting to self-wean?

AnnVan · 02/06/2009 12:10

cyteen self wean!! that hadn't ocurred to me. Although he seems to want the feed as much as ever, so I'll hold out some hope that he's not ready to stop yet. Glad to hear that Joe is feeling better.

Morning TS, what are you up to today?

Ann if he still wants the milk then perhaps he's just got a tooth coming and can't get used to his mouth iyswim. I too would be very sad to find DS self-weaning, although at least it takes the decision out of one's hands.

VG I have France jealousy although at least we have a week in Devon at the start of August to look forward to. Off to Cardiff this weekend, not the same I know but still a break

AnnVan · 02/06/2009 17:14

No holiday here. At least DP has next week off, which I'm really looking forward to, even if we're not going anywhere. He's so tired all the time, and he's gone all withdrawn and quiet lately. It's getting me down a little bit tbh.
On the positive side, I had another driving lesson today with the guy who likes to throw people in the deep end. It wasn't too bad (obviously made mistakes) but drove through very busy areas and even on the dual carriageway. Was still nerve wracking though. He says I need to relax more.

LOL our neighbours v unfairly seem to have a bbq everytime we sit out - drives us mad with jealousy!

I've had a typically overachieving Buckets day which funnily enough has left me knackered. Met NCT committee friend first thing and in 1hour we hashed out concept, logistics and plan for a 6monthly Branch Brunch, starting in Nov. We were very pleased with ourselves, almost did high fives. Then went to a real nappy network meeting for purely social reasons. Then delivered some newsletters with 2 boiling, sleeping boys in the car.

Bugger, can feel the sunburn on my back starting to colour itself in properly.

Oops Hope you're in bed now.

FFS, seems like I'm coming down with something (again). Swollen glands, sore throat, shivery and achy I hate being ill!

oopsacoconut · 02/06/2009 18:07

Hellooooo

I am sitting on the sofa eating tomatoes after a fantastic walk with Sazzles. My daughter ate all her lunch then helped herself to E's she mastered the art of lurching across the picnic blanket to grab handfuls of pasta or raspberries, E fought back well stealing a marmite ricecake from under her nose. They both napped then whilst we drank diet coke they practised trying to throw themselves off the table . DD now sitting naked on the grass yelling at the birds.

Cyteen sorry you are not feeling great.

Hi - VG.

TwilightSurfer · 02/06/2009 18:16

Hi, again.

DD1 had tennis then it was a quick trip to Target for odds and ends.

Nope. No swimming since Saturday. I got a little red and dd1's scalp is still a little burnt so we've been avoiding full sun. Unfortunately the pool is only open 11-5 so we'll have to give it a day or so more before we go back. and it was the big pool...up to my boobs in FREEZING watery goodness.

Oops is already not following doctor's orders? Listen here! You have to follow those orders to a T so your recovery is QUICK and EASY!!

Planning a party for Saturday. What was to be a small gathering during the week has turned into a reunion on the weekend...AT MY HOUSE. Considering valium dosage now.

HP how's the snail fight going. You winning??

Must see what the yelling's about...brb.

ann is your dodgy latch causing you pain? ds is really hurting me on one side - there is a permanent indentaion that has become a sore bit on one of my areola. It bled last feed. ow ow ow. It got all betetr a few weeks ago but has got worse again.... Nor sure how to sort it.

cyteen · 02/06/2009 19:46

That sounds grim albs

I am limp on the sofa with a fleece throw wrapped around me Feel completely rubbish! This is not how I wanted my return to work/Joe's start at nursery to go

Poor you Cyteen, as Sazzles says hope it passes off overnight. You, Oops and Buckets clearly need to be tucked up in the thread bed while the rest of us tiptoe around offering soothing drinks/unguents/etc.

ALBS I have something similar. DD isn't biting so much atm but there is still a dent. Painful isn't it. Only justice in my case as I was relatively pain-free in the early days when others were really suffering... (Not that this means I accept it with good grace and silent resignation, on the contrary.) Cyteen's suggestion that it could be related to teething makes sense... We are on three teeth, number four (the second top) has been close but not through for a while now.

Ann hope you can have fun next week.
Sounds like a week of laughing at the little chap's antics is what DP needs... coprophagia is perhaps going a little too far in his attempts to entertain daddy though

Make that two mojitos TS, thanks, I lurve them and being in Cuba while pregnant with DD was maddening! Hope the party planning isn't too stressful...

LoveBuckets · 02/06/2009 22:21

Ooh did anyone watch Mary Queen of Charity Shops? Fascinating stuff, I will watch avidly. I have always wanted to run a charity shop, maybe my return to work when Squirt starts preschool will have to be unpaid for a bit while I get some experience. My idea is to specialise and just sell kidswear, toys and maternity/BFwear. Anything stained can just be dyed purple and sold as 'Customised'. Could get all the local NCT branches to dump their unsold stuff after Nearly New Sales too.

Hope the morning brings better health all round folks. I have cinema and sushi again.

well i had to google it...

Cuban Mojito recipe

the original authentic recipe from Havana Cuba

1 teaspoon powdered sugar
Juice from 1 lime (2 ounces)
4 mint leaves
1 sprig of mint
Havana Club white Rum (2 ounces)
2 ounces club soda

Wish I had one RIGHT NOW!

Sadly the Saturday crowd will be filled with OLD FOLKS. Mojitos will not be on the menu. The menu will be:
Ham, Roast Beef, Broccoli Cheese Casserole, Green Beans, Potato Salad, Pasta Salad, Pink Salad, Cresant Rolls, Banana Pudding, Brownies and Sweet Tea

I'm buying the ham from the caterer. I'm making all the astrick marked items. The four remaining items are my "LET GO" pieces because I'm serving a very "ME ME ME" crowd. In other words, I was TOLD by my elder aunts THEY would be providing said items. Hell they'd bring all the food if I'd let them. The term PARTY HOST isn't in their vocabulary. I'M THE FRICKING PARTY HOST...I'LL PROVIDE THE VENUE AND FOOD!!! valium? valium?? where o where did i but the valium?

I'm awaiting word from my dad as to whether my brother and his wife will be here. There's still the "issue" left over from the gathering last August that looms like poo-stink. I love my brother! I want to see my brother! I want to see my nieces and nephew!! Enough said.

Cyteen I'm channeling you positive energies tonight. You sound like you need them.

And OUCH OUCH OUCH to Ann and ALBS.

On that topic: We've reached 9months for all the babes....how much long are ya'll going to bf?

I'll meet all of you out back during the party Saturday and we can partake of a few MOJITOs. I'll need one or seven.

night
