Hi daisy, I find the paddling pool more effort than it's worth too. It always ends up full of grass and twigs and suicidal flies! My dcs haven't wanted to go outside at all today, despite the new climbing frame dd got for her birthday.

Ds tries to sit on my parents' jack russell all the time. Luckily she is a very placid dog and just sits there and gives you a really sad pleading look. I would love a dog, but I really don't think I could cope!

I've just shaved dp's back !

TheNatty · 29/05/2009 20:45

omg! what a day!
i spent the day in a bloody indoor play gym, when it was such a lovely day
birthday party so i couldnt get out of it.
i really hope its nice tomorrow so i can get out in my garden, i have planted veg
yes me.. i have actually got of my arse and i have plants growing actual real food

sorry paddling pool wasnt as much fun as you thought daisy, i find its the same with my kids, i think "lets get the paints/pool/cake ingrediants out.. i always end up regretting it!!!

HellHathNoFury · 30/05/2009 07:55

I am having a party/BBQ thing today.
I feel like shit and don't much fancy entertaining.

Oh well.

LittleMissNorty · 30/05/2009 09:05

Hope it goes well fury.

We are doing BBQ and having 9 kids * 8 adults for a paddling pool birthday party

I must be MAD!

HellHathNoFury · 30/05/2009 09:07

Norty, you are fucking mental love.

I couldn't fit that many in my garden.

Hope it goes well!

LittleMissNorty · 30/05/2009 09:09

Roll on 7pm.....

TALLULAHBELLE · 30/05/2009 09:30

Best of luck Norty - sure everyone will have a ball

Ohforfoxsake · 30/05/2009 17:18

hi there - hope the party went well Norty. Hope the mess stayed outside

Just dropping in briefly, have been keeping up, just been busy. Not much sitting and chatting getting done in this house

TheNatty · 30/05/2009 18:46

i second that norty you are clearly mad!

fairy quiet day here, spent most of it in the garden

where is everybody?

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 30/05/2009 19:51

Just using Mum's PC to catch up (and avoid watching Britain's Got Talent). Having a lovely time with my folks Jamlet especially loving it. We (me, DSis, DNiece and Jamlet) went to a children's farm yesterday and she had a great time. She got to hold a week old chick too Poor little thing was lucky to get through it alive though, as she hasn't grasped the idea of "gentle" yet. And we've tried the bridesmaid's dress on her and it's fantastic

Paddling pools and birthday parties sound wonderful and scary all rolled into one! I've got that coming up in a couple of weeks. So far got 7 littlies and Mums invited, might add a couple more . Fingers crossed for good weather so we can use the garden (and yes, the paddling pool).

LackaDAISYcal · 30/05/2009 21:01

hope the parties went well for Norty and fury and that the mess was kept well outside.

Sounds like you are having a lovely time jammy

I have no idea how many are coming for DD's birthday as I keep inviting people!! Probably around six kiddies and their mums, plus PILs, BIL, SIL and their 3 kiddies, and maybe the little boy across the road, who is wild, but hi mum has just had a new baby this week, so I figure it might be good for him to get out of the house for a bit.

DD has been really poorly today, choked with the cold and red rimmed around the eyes and a temperature, but still wanting to play outside and not going to sleep until after nine, escaping from her room (I mustn't have shut the gate properly) and emptying the bathroom cupboard, including trying to play with razors . Bumble slept pretty well last night, only waking once, but she was up four times

for all the party plans, we didnt make much of a fuss of ellens birthday as DH kidney is terrible atm, and my various pains are not improving.
feel a bit for her, but she seemed happy enough with a few pressies and a cake

have packed my labour bag
feel slightly less stressed now.
this whole having very painful BH which lead to nothing is a new one on me, i reckon i will drop the baby one day cos i will be so sure its just more BH and will be certain its not labour!

LittleMissNorty · 30/05/2009 22:19

Hi - I'm knackered.

Great fun - 10 kids including 2 babies .

Water, cake and all sorts of mess inside and out. Good fun had by all though.

Took ages to clean up. Will put some pics on FB next week.

Right, off outside to hang the washing out ....yes, I know its 10.20pm!

Good to see you Foxy. Glad you're having a nice time (even I watched BGT tonight!!). Hope DD is feeling better soon Daisy and you get a quiet night.

LittleMissNorty · 30/05/2009 22:20

Didn't you have ajoint party for Ellen and Tom Natty?

DD got in the pool at one point - with her party dress on! She'd forgotten I'd changed her!

TheNatty · 30/05/2009 22:20

glad it went well norty

hope dd is feeling better tomorrow daisy, you planning more garden time?

LittleMissNorty · 30/05/2009 22:21

Meant to Add the word Jammy onto the end of the sentence "glad your having a nice time".....

TheNatty · 30/05/2009 22:26

yeah we had one at the end of april, but for her actual birthday i felt a bit mean not having anything special.

DH thinks im really silly

LackaDAISYcal · 30/05/2009 22:45

I have left it too late to order what we wanted to get DD for her birthday

TheNatty · 30/05/2009 22:48

toys r us do one daisy 3 days delivery time?

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 30/05/2009 22:53

Never mind daisy, I'm sure she'll like a water table. My dcs have one and it is much used. I haven't even thought about ds's birthday pressies yet. Prob something Thomas themed. He is a bit obsessed!

Glad you had a fun party norty. Bet you are in bed now! Sounds exhausting!

Natty, I always felt I could relax a bit after packing my labour bag, hope you are feeling the same. Did it at 35 weeks for both of them and they were both sodding late. Bloody kids!

LittleMissNorty · 31/05/2009 06:58

Morning

DS went till 6am ....either that or I was so knackered I didn't hear him

Natty, they're only little so don't think they realise / worry about it! DDs birthday is on Tuesday, and we are not doing anything and I'm off to the osteopath!

What playhouse was you going to get Daisy? You may be lucky if you get it from somewhere that does express delivery. You're very brave doing sand....haven't braved that one yet.....especially after a few handbags, baby Annabel and a few other selected toys went in the paddling pool yesterday....and then back in the house!

I love Thomas Holly....am looking forward to DS becoming Thomas obsessed!

Ohforfoxsake · 31/05/2009 13:50

Tesco's are discounting playhouses at the mo - wooden ones if that helps Daisy.

Rialentless · 31/05/2009 17:09

hello.
just caught up (am avoiding the unpacking and post-trip laundry)

hi holly & Ekka, good to see you.

glad you're having a good time jammy.

DH is going into hospital on Saturday and he has an interview tomorrow (so fingers crossed that things "gel")

I want to go back to the Dales

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 31/05/2009 19:04

Glad you had a good time Ria

I had a horrible, horrible journey home today. First half was fine, but then there was a hold up on the M25, but that wasn't too bad, just a bit slower than I might have liked. But then I joined the M40 and it took an hour and half to go the 1st 6 miles . There were roadworks which meant 4 lanes merging into 1 Took bloody ages - well an hour and half. Once the traffic had merged the flow picked up, as it does, and then after a few hundred yards the roadworks were finished . FFS! all that hassle for a few fewcking hundred yards!! So the journey ended up taking 6.5 hours with those hold ups and then another stop we had to make because we needed more drinks and Jamlet needed another nappy change

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 31/05/2009 19:08

Mke that a 7.5 hour journey!
