Daisy it was actually MN (various threads) that I discovered it. I did see a post from Norty as well.

I have a sneaking suspicion that they are ignoring it and only tackling it when the issue arises.

Rialentless · 29/06/2009 13:04

my good mood is over. DH started a brilliant new job this morning (again, but this one was going to be good), he is now home in bed cos his shoulder gave out while making soup. I had told RL people about it too. I hope it isn't down to the damp on our trip away.

now, the question is, do I want to go and work on the holiday park, checking caravans are clean? it is my friends job, she left because one of the cleaners was bullying her

TheNatty · 29/06/2009 13:32

arse fury employers are arseholes arnt they!
glad its not something worse jammy, however sometimes the viral things are worse arnt they, harder to shake?

im melting.

i mean it, i will be a puddle of skin with a baby sitting in the middle soon.

both kids in bed, as driving me insane.
does anyone know how long croup is supposed to last before i should take them to the doctors in case its something else?
ellens been running a temp for 4 days now (obv going down with each dose of calpol)

TheNatty · 29/06/2009 13:33

ria hope DH is ok x

Rialentless · 29/06/2009 13:37

Thanks natty. It's such a kick in the teeth, the one time he gets offered a job with a reputable, reasonable company with good pay and decent hours... harder for him I know, but he's asleep and I am not!

I would get them both to the Docs natty. There's too many nasties about in this weather and you don't want to catch anything yourself if you can help it.

BTW, wouldn't recommend trying camping on the train!

HellHathNoFury · 29/06/2009 13:38

Natty I think 4 days is enough, get her to the GP.

My employers aren't arseholes, not really, they are very good to be honest but they DO make mistakes and get things wrong sometimes!

I can't hate them... I have a nice job and they let me work from home etc. Now they just need to sort out my pay rise and childcare vouchers...!

TheNatty · 29/06/2009 14:05

no appointments as usual. im going to try tomorrow if she still has the temperature this evening.
ive already got the chesty cough, but no temperature, my body seems to be dealing with it quite well.
well you know apart from the melting

LackaDAISYcal · 29/06/2009 14:24

It was feeling wuite nice here; a bit humid, but it was cloudy and although not, not unbearably so...

...then the sun came out . I am joining you in the melting natty. thank the good lord it wasn't like this last summer when I was 6mo pregnant, and ouch for you pregnant ladies at the minute.

bugger about DH's shoulder Ria. Although I admit it doesn't look good on your first day, will they take him back, or was he "sent home for good" sent home?

you did the caravans last year didn't you?

HellHathNoFury · 29/06/2009 14:50

I am lucky, a couple of years ago we bought a portable a/c unit. It has been earning its keep this week.

And work have been really good, I told them I was worried about commuting in the heat and they gave me one of the execs parking spaces so I can drive in. And my boss said he will bike to my house to deliver it to me!
Love them.

Ria that's poo about the job/shoulder
Will he look after DC's if you work?

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 29/06/2009 15:07

Sorry about DH's shoulder Ria.
Fury, sounds like HR cock-ups aside you do have a good employer.
Just had a yoghurt - ouch

HellHathNoFury · 29/06/2009 16:11

God I am good.

I just made a sun-dried tomato, basil and pine nut loaf.

Now all I need are some friends to eat it. Hopefully DH will accomodate.

HellHathNoFury · 29/06/2009 16:25

I am 'testing' it.
If it's any good I plan to make some more for friends etc.

Rialentless · 29/06/2009 17:55

he said he couldn't take the job daisy (rather than them giving him the push), they have told him to get back in touch if he gets sorted out though, as they want "the right person" rather than filling the
job quickly. So that's nice, but probably nothing to hold out hope for. ANd the chef said how heartbreaking it must be for DH not to be able to do his job, so at least they understood.

I don't know if he could manage baggins if I worked, he can't lift him/wrestle with him for nappy changes/baths.

TheNatty · 29/06/2009 19:18

your work does sound kind fury

what is everyone doing for food? i cant bare to cook in this heat so we have had sandwiches twice a day for the last week

oh well ive shifted some weight thats for sure

HellHathNoFury · 29/06/2009 19:26

I made a roast chicken which we had with a salad and some home made bread

It was nice. I am not losing weight.

I plan to make enchiladas with the leftover chicken.

Rialentless · 29/06/2009 19:42

DH and the boys had steak pie with mash and veg, I had a pork chop instead of the pie (as a concession to my diet as I'm trying to lose weight)

don't know about tomorrow (cricket, presentation evening at school, so no time to cook), but we're having roast beef on Wednesday, and stir-fry with the left-overs. I aren't massively keen on sandwiches.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 29/06/2009 19:48

I had a slice of bread and honey and it fucking hurt!

TheNatty · 29/06/2009 19:49

oh i couldnt face that, i felt faint cooking pasta for the kids tea today.

they are big sarnis proper ham and lettece and cucumber and tomatoes.. yummy

bit sick of them now tho.

tried salad too but DH not keen.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 29/06/2009 19:49

And looks like DH's company may be wound up by the end of July

TheNatty · 29/06/2009 19:52

x post jammy!

poor you, hope its a bit better tomorrow x

TheNatty · 29/06/2009 19:54

and again!

oh dear what will your DH do for work? anything lined up?

LackaDAISYcal · 29/06/2009 20:21

lasagne and salad here. I wish I could eat sarnies for lunch and tea!

arse about DH's company jammy Does he have anything else lined up?

and that sounds a bit positive about DH Ria; when he feels up to it he should definately get back in touch with them.

OP posts:
JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 29/06/2009 20:24

Nothing lined up yet. They only found out today.

TheNatty · 29/06/2009 20:43

oh dear its all too common atm, alot of my friends DHs are being made redundant.
hope something comes up soon.

ive eaten my weight in fruit this evening, ive had a mango, and peach, 2 kiwis and a banana.
dreading my stomach later

HellHathNoFury · 29/06/2009 20:49

I have eaten my weight in hotel chocolat

Now where is the Alli....
