Don't confuse my being smug with competitiveness

As for the cleaner...I called her references! They all said good things. And they weren't friends/relatives either...unless she has the local dog groomer on payroll.

no, no BBQ today. It has either been extremely hot and muggy or storms. I am a bit non-bov about BBQ's anyway when it's only the 3 of us, I prefer them when there are lots of people.

Which I get next week, mum, dad and bro are coming over.

HellHathNoFury · 27/06/2009 18:42

Anyway Foxy long time no 'see', how's it hanging? How is the G&T one?

LackaDAISYcal · 27/06/2009 19:23

I'm very of your cleaner. But then again, I have DH

hey foxy . I missed the GnT talk (or else thought you were talking about booze . What is he GnT in? not the same league, but DS1 got moved up into the 2nd top group in maths and is chuffed to bits and wants to move up in his other subjects as well.....it always clicks into place for him three weeks before they break up for summer then back to square one in September!!

I'm having a panic about selling off all my cloth nappies. I soooooo don't want to do it, but the washing was getting on top of me and it seems like the best solution.

But.....the sight of all my lovely nappies packaged up into bundles is just too much. I even wish I could have another little bum to put put in the tiny totsbots I have . Bumble has been in cotton and the only big sized wrap I have left. thank gawd I can get discount at tots now. Dh is going to go nuts but hey ho.

toooooo hot and muggy here. Not nice. Children all fractious and bumble teething big time. fun and games on a Saturday afternoon.

HellHathNoFury · 27/06/2009 19:53

Daisy if you are having wobbles don't sell them!
It will be impossible to replace them all and you might really regret it.

Why not hang on to them for a while, use disposables and see if how you feel after a couple of weeks?

Sputnik · 27/06/2009 20:16

Have you actually sold them Daisy? Maybe you can explain and offer refund? I use about 50-50 cloth and disposables atm, I don't really notice the washing. But then I only have 1 in nappies, and now it's hot here they don't get that wet so not changing too often.

Ohforfoxsake · 27/06/2009 20:37

Bollocks. My Pimms Jellies haven't set. Used leaf geletine. Anyone know how to save them?

LackaDAISYcal · 27/06/2009 20:39

I've sold a few already. Mostly ones that are too small or I'm not keen on using no no great loss, but I sold two out of my three big wraps (and my itti bitti d'lish ) a couple of weeks ago. I still have half a dozen pockets, 11 shaped terries and a few other shaped nappies so pleanty to be going on with. I need to buy some new wraps though. The ones I sold were with some nappies I was testing though, so effectively the new wraps will only cost me the difference between what I sold the old ones for and if I get my tots discount then they won't actually cost me anything.... Dh is just thinking of the money we can get for selling them, not the amount it would cost to replace them at a later date....aaaaaaah quandries.

Sputnik · 27/06/2009 21:13

Yes, not to mention cost of dispies.
Sorry no idea about jelly here Foxy! How's you anyway.

Meant to say congrats on your home birth Natty. Can't believe you're nearly there, other people's pregnancies go soooo quickly

LackaDAISYcal · 27/06/2009 21:52

Other people's pregnancies sputnik? is there something you're not telling us??????

one of my November lot is up the duff already , and just posted that she hadn't felt that tired since March 2008 with a wink and it took ages for anyone to make the connection!

OP posts:
LittleMissNorty · 27/06/2009 22:32

OMG.....pg again already . No more babies in this house....I don't know whether I'm about that or not really.....

Good luck for tomorrow Foxy....have to say I don't you running in that heat! But I'm sure a glass of pimms jelly will be lovely afterwards

Had my eyes tested today....£200 for 2 pairs of glasses and I had a huge panic attack in there

I'm off to bed now, boot fair tomorrow so up at 5am ....at least it will be cool...its been too farking hot here today!

LackaDAISYcal · 27/06/2009 22:48

for your panic attack norty. Are you OK?

I hate the farking opticians....all that better or worse shit? how the hell do I know, I can't see a damn thing!! and my eyes take ages to settle after changing lenses as well. when I went a few weeks ago I refused to let them do the glaucoma test......I have an irrational fear of that wee puffing machine and just cannot bear it.

OP posts:
JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 27/06/2009 22:59

I need to get my eyes tested. Was really peering at stuff yeaterday and today. But it's better than normal. Often this happens about 15-18 months after my last appointment, but it's been a whole 2 years this time (I remember feeding Jamlet in the optician's waiting room back in the v early days when we were still learning how)

Also, got eye appointment at the hospital for Jamlet on Weds We have family history of eye problems (Mum and I both had squints, and I hardly see in one eye as a result) and I noticed a squint in her, so we went last June and they said they would follow it up a year later. Fingers crossed. I still think i see a squint sometimes, but not as bad as last year.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 27/06/2009 23:03

And for panic attack.

Work was OK this afternoon btw, and made all the better by the lovely tea they provided including (too many to be healthy) profiteroles

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 27/06/2009 23:07

Bah! I was about to go to bed, but DH has just come down to say the loo is broken, not flushing properly. So I have to wait a bit while he tries to fix it. Pain as I am in need of the loo and it's not going to be a simple wee (sorry if TMI!)

LackaDAISYcal · 27/06/2009 23:26

If you fill a bucket with water and pour it from a height into the loo jammy it has ther same effect as a flush

you know of all the things I reaaaaalllllly miss about being gluten free, it has to be choux pastry. I love the savoury but also sweet aspect of it

OP posts:
HellHathNoFury · 28/06/2009 07:11

Second Daisy, you don't even need a cistern, just pour a load of water down it.

Am toying with the idea of taking DS to the Zoo today but he is in horror mode so not sure if I can bear the pain.

Perhaps it will be another paddling pool day.

Foxy not sure you CAN save them if they are only half set - how long have they been in there for? IME booze ones can take A LOT longer.

LackaDAISYcal · 28/06/2009 07:31

lol at horror mode fury. Mine have been up since 6.15, but are doing OK so far this morning.

and bumble is in real nappies

the zoo in this heat sounds like a very smelly form of torture!!

I hope the jellies set eventually Foxy. I'm sure half set Pimm's jellies would be just as nice!

What are we all up to today? One of DS's school friends and his mum are coming over for a bit of a BBQ this afternoon. I get on better with the mum than DS does with the boy though ; they always end up arguing over everything!!

Right, feeding time at this particular zoo

OP posts:
HellHathNoFury · 28/06/2009 07:37

5.45am here. DS has taking to waking at 7am on a weekday, 5.30-6am on a weekend. Thanks for that

Yep we are going to the zoo today.
Must start preparing picnic.

TheNatty · 28/06/2009 09:46

we are going shoe shopping (groan) here. ellen and thomas decided to both go up ANOTHER size here.. at the same time!
got tom some yesterday but the woman couldnt find any in ellens size so off to the lewisham branch instead.
which is fun as money still tight and finding 40 quid to shoe the kids has not been easy

mum is coming over today as well to help finish off the garden, i think she has had a personality transplant, she never helps out

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 28/06/2009 10:43

6.30 start here. Jamlet now v tired after trip to the park but refusing to nap

Oh I know about the bucket thing (another veteran) but DH wouldn't let me in until he had finished fiddling with it. He has to go buy bits today apparently.

Throat vv sore today So might not have our afternoon out after all

Ohforfoxsake · 28/06/2009 13:31

I got a medal! My kids are proud because mummy got a medal!

Just done my first 5k Race for Life. I am feeling rather good about it especially as under 30 mins

HellHathNoFury · 28/06/2009 14:10

WELL DONE FOXY!
You fucking lunatic are an inspiration

Sputnik · 28/06/2009 15:28

Yay Foxy, that is brilliant!
Did the jellies set?

Pregnant, me? You are insane! Actually we went to see some friends yesterday, their daughter had a baby 10 days ago. He was very sweet but I was by no means tempted to do it all again. My main emotion was joy at offloading our car seat, carry cot and assorted baby crap onto them!

It was funny actually as I remember her as a teenager and she seems very young to me, but then I realised she's actually older than Natty!

Rialentless · 28/06/2009 17:44

well done foxy

HellHathNoFury · 28/06/2009 19:10

DS eating a cornetto video on my FB.
A little amusing.
