Result Norty!

baggins just had his 2 year check, I think she said he is just under 91st centile, but I still don't know what that means

DS2 at home again. He was weighed and measure too.

DH still hasn't been paid, apparently the new company aren't allowed to pay him cash so last night was a waste of time, though they have promised to sort it out today. The other guy who owes him money has disappeared, but his secretary wrote DH a snotty letter to him this morning!

LittleMissNorty · 22/06/2009 12:52

Nice one Fury

Poor DS2 ria Has he nearly finished the ABs? Hope you get the money situation sorted.....I'd be ranting and raving and threatening them all by now!

DS is grumpy today, but hasn't had a proper poo for 2 days, so have just given him some boiled water - lovely! Shall look forward to that one!

DH will be happy....my shopping included 30 cans of Grolsh! I am still pissed off at the service I received, but at least I don't need to brave Sainsbury's this afternoon with 2 grumpy children, and a weeks free shopping isn't to be sniffed at.

HellHathNoFury · 22/06/2009 13:03

they have a 2 year check??

LittleMissNorty · 22/06/2009 13:13

we don't.

TheNatty · 22/06/2009 13:27

no not everywhere does one, i insisted for thomas as was concerned re lack of speech and other issues.

i wont bother with ellen, i know she is short, and i know she weighs about average, her speech is fine. so i dont need the hassle as im sure they will find something to moan about. (tho having got rid of the dummies cant see what lol )

my docs surgery doesnt have a health visitor anyway lol, so i cant get away with it.
i wont be weighing LO when he gets here as i dont need the pressure if his weight gain isnt brilliant, my newborns put weight on very slowly, then suddenly turn into fat lumps at about 4 months!

Rialentless · 22/06/2009 13:36

I was quite surprised by the letter, they'd stopped doing 2 year checks when DS2 was 2. I wasn't concerned anyway, but HV has referred me back to mental health team (there is a new PCN), and has offered me an appointment with her if I need to let off steam (she is trained in mental health apparently), so I suppose some good came of it.

I heard a horrible scary noise last night just before I went to bed - turns out someone who lives near my mum had a massive row laste last night and the bloke left. Must remember to have quiet rows with DH in future. also the woman whose car was smashed up owes money to a horse dealer, heanch the car and her black eye a few weeks ago. This used to be a really quiet family-type street!

TheNatty · 22/06/2009 14:11

ria!

LittleMissNorty · 22/06/2009 15:10

Ria!

When I used to live in a flat, the couple that lived above me had a huge row one night and she told him to fuck off out of her life cos she never wanted to see him again. and he did. Came down the stairs the next morning after she'd gone to work, double bed in arms (he'd bought it apparently), stuck a note to her front door and posted the key back through the letterbox. She wailed for hours that night. After that, I bought a house (and got it from the sides instead!)

BadZelda · 22/06/2009 17:41

Happy Birthday everyone - hope you're all well!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 22/06/2009 19:45

indeed Ria.

Norty, when I lived in a flat the bloke upstairs would regularly make lots of late-night noise, either music playing, or swearing at his GF (who incidentally could be equally vocal but in a different way IYSWIM on a Sunday morning while I was listening to the Archers), or shouting at someone else. One night I was woken up by his doorbell ringing at midnight and all I could hear was "don't you fucking say a thing or I'll fucking kill you" etc . I lived on my own and was a little scared, especially when I saw what he looked like one afternoon. But when I complained to env health they didn't do a thing - sent him a letter, sent me a "noise diary" to keep for a month. he was quiet as a mouse for 31 days and then it all started again . I also moved in the end (was going to anyway, not just because of him.)

Oh and well done on the shopping front Norty. And Natty, glad you got some money in, sorry it's all gone out again though

LackaDAISYcal · 22/06/2009 20:09

cooled boiled water I hope Norty?

Hey to Zelda and Izzybel; nice to see some old familiar faces

A whole year though Izzy . I suppose once you are over the initial cold turkey it isn't too bad though!

sorry to hear about HFM fury, and I hope Ds is on the mend.

Bumble is back to his usual sleeping patterns . I'm fooking knackered and premenstrual and meant to be dieting, but I just want sugar and chocolate. And my children are being their usual challenging selfs; I caught DD sitting on the kitchen worktop with her hands in the fishtank earlier. When asked what on earth she was doing she said "fishing like Daddy"

Daisy!
Hi Zelda!
And Izzy (like your new name)
Happy Birthday to mini Bumpers, Andiems and Furys

We used to live above a restaurant and the woman who ran it had blazing rows with her bf (usually at 1 in the morning), which involved him plunging his hand into boiling water and throwing himself down the steps. He was a total looney.

Our new place has a lot of flats concentrated together, we were there the other day and I kept getting distracted by a baby crying, I kept getting a nagging idea it was mine. Hope none of the neighbours have noisy domestic disputes.

LittleMissNorty · 22/06/2009 20:41

or noisy anything else Sputnik?

LittleMissNorty · 22/06/2009 20:43

IME purpose built flats aren't so bad.....most of my flats have been converted houses though .

Sounds scary Jammy....I also lived next door to someone who walloped his GF regularly.....it was awful

Sputnik · 22/06/2009 20:48

Yes. Luckily there is no one above us, at least.
The internal wall are very thin. I hope the walls between flats are a bit thicker!

Rialentless · 22/06/2009 21:57

I kind of get the impression there might have been more to last night than shouting (and to listen to my Mum it was like reading some of the posts I've seen on MN on the DA threads - the couple have a teenager and a DD about 7/8, if I heard it 7 houses down, the kids must have been terrified, DM said they'll think it's the norm and that will be another generation who think that's how a relationship is) our neighbours were rowing last night too, and TBH I was nearly in stitches as I was trying to get the boys to bed and the neighbours were in their garden semi-shouting at each other.

DH is thinking we might go camping at the weekend (if he gets paid), I am weirdly excited by the idea, even though I know I'll regret it the minute it gets dark and I need a wee!

LOL at fishing daisy, and pah to dieting with PMT. This week has been impossible for me, I have probably undone all my efforts til now. After tomorrow I'll either be back to it with extreme effort or I'll give up all together.

Would it be a fashion faux pas to wear along white linen dress with slight embroidery detail (red flowers I think) with black mule sandals?

Rialentless · 22/06/2009 21:58

obviously that was "a long". missed the #

hi zelda, happy birthday to your LO too.

Rialentless · 22/06/2009 22:07

similar-ih to these but black soles and black uppers, quite pretty though, if somewhat clumpy.

TheNatty · 22/06/2009 23:32

i think that would look fine.. tho i wear combats and flips flops which im sure IS a fashion faux pas!

got a phone call from virgin media today telling me if i didnt pay them they would disconnect my service then and there..
the last woman on the phone told me i had till 9th july, so a phone call at 9PM (!) was not appreciated and the guy got a serious bollocking

HellHathNoFury · 23/06/2009 08:52

ARGH

BIL has been beaten up while he was out kayaking
I forgot to apply for my maternity exemption card (could kind of use that)

On the plus side, I have a hot lunch date today and tomorrow. And a Chloe bag.

I don't know what centile DS is on. All I know is that Next size 3 clothes only just fit comfortably and he wears size 7.5-8 shoes.

HellHathNoFury · 23/06/2009 08:54

Has anyone been to Eurodisney? Is it worth it?
I have found a few deals for 4 people, 5 nights, hotel B&B, disney passes and eurostar for ~£1000 and am wondering if it's a good place to go.

LittleMissNorty · 23/06/2009 09:40

Foxy is your person Fury.

FUCKING GP receptionists . I am writing a huge long complaint to my
PCT. I'm really fucking angry now (and all they've done is not give me an appointment for tomorrow) but its all come flooding out in my e-mail. Funny though, when I rung up to speak to the practice manager, I could get past the fucking old dragon, but she gave me an appointment for tomorrow

Sorry....needed to get that off my chest!

LittleMissNorty · 23/06/2009 09:41

couldn't get past.

HellHathNoFury · 23/06/2009 09:44

what happened?

LittleMissNorty · 23/06/2009 09:52

Oh its really pathetic (must be PMT). I rung yesterday for an appointment but can't prebook until the day before - only cos of their fucking targets. So I rung today and no appointments. But I said, you told me to ring this morning and surgery has only been open 5 minutes. Well, she said, I'm telling you we don't have any appointments left.

Soon found one though when I asked to speak to the practice manager

Sorry. I am being V unreasonable I think, but she has got me very riled this morning!!
