Hi honeys, I'm home!!

Have tried to catch up. but too much to take in at once. So will just say the holiday was good (despite eye infection dragging on all week, plus having a sore throat all week, plus raging mood swings (almost walked out on DH ) that I then worked out was PMT when period started but [phew, I'm not a total loony bitch!]) Jamlet loved playing on the beach and paddling, and we also went to the zoo, and a chateau (where she climbed loads of stairs ).

Rialentless · 20/06/2009 20:13

Norty, was thinking of you earlier.

I've been in bed most of the day, took baggins up for a nap and had a headache so stayed put (thought it would do DH good to have an afternoon of it by himself)

Rialentless · 20/06/2009 20:14

glad you're back jammy and had a good time despite everything.

Hope to chat to you all later, bath time here (suppose DH will need to connect to the T/Wii now after having the boys and cooking tea)

Rialentless · 20/06/2009 20:33

happy birthday to bumpers DD.

is anyone elses LO having a 2 year check? Our HV is coming for a visit on Monday. I'm sure they didn't do them when DS2 was 2

Bumperlicioso · 20/06/2009 21:04

Thanks for the birthday wishes. DD has had a lovely day, painting and being spoiled by grandma. I made her a Peppa Pig cake which is on my my profile.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 20/06/2009 21:07

Yes, happy birthday to DD, Bumper. Love the pics of the teepee and cake Saw signs all over the place on our hols advertising something with your DD's name on. No idea what it was advertising though.

LackaDAISYcal · 20/06/2009 23:02

Belated Happy Birthday to DD bumper.

You are getting good at this alpha mummy stuff; the cake is fab!!! Did DD like the wigwam teepee?

norty, hugs for tomorrow. what you did at the cemetery sounds lovely though. My Dad's ashes were scattered at the other end of the country, so I will just have a wee timeout and a mental chat with him in the morning

Wecome home jammy; by your photos it looks like you had a fantastic time, PMT notwithstanding. I love the photo of jamlet kissing the dolly

busy busy day here. Rushing around all morning and then I was on duty at the school fair all afternoon. I was away from my wee man for six hours , and boy did I get a welcome when I got home . He is right in the throes of separation anxiety as well, poor bumble. Although oddly, when DH and his parents brought the kids to the fair for a bit, he didn't seem to register it was me leaning into the pram to talk to him

But, on a goooooooood note he slept for 12 hours last night .

bloody tombola; volunteered as I thought it would be an easy job.....there were two of us and we were rushed off our feet! NExt year we need at least five; one to take the money, one to shake the bucket of tickets, two to find the prizes and one with a big fat stick to bat away wandering hands!!!

Rialentless · 20/06/2009 23:25

LOL daisy. DH and I seem to have been blackballed from the PTFA, don't think we've even been invited to any meetings since christmas. DH must be too pro-active for them!

LackaDAISYcal · 20/06/2009 23:44

ours is woefully undersubscribed Ria, so they will take anyone

LittleMissNorty · 21/06/2009 10:13

Well done on the sleep Daisy.....hope last night was as good . Hugs to you for today too...difficult day Fathers day . Its the anniversary of my FILs passing today as well, so we're off to Dungeness where his ashes were scattered to have a refreshing walk along the beach and lunch in the pub.

Fab pictures Jammy....holiday looks great.

Happy birthday to Fury and Andie's DSs...

about tombola.....the prizes were shit at the nursery tombola. When I asked the bloke who was running it where the rubbish was (to throw away my tickets), he said to me "all over the table"

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 21/06/2009 12:48

for all of you with missing fathers. Makes me even more that I didn't get a card to my Dad this year. Somehow it didn't dawn on me that I would need to do it before going on holiday . Thankfully they have the internet now so I was able to send a last minute e-card last night. And I did remember to sort somehting out for DH from jamlet at least

Got some fab news while we were away. My brother texted me to say that he's getting married. So that's 3 weddings for us this year! He's having a humanist wedding, possibly in Greenwich Park, in September, just before they go to Brazil for a year.

LittleMissNorty · 21/06/2009 19:25

Oh Jammy ...lovely news. Greenwich Park is just lovely as well. How exciting.

I however have been invited to a wedding in London but no children.....

Lovely day which was spoilt at the end by Asda delivering £90 worth of shopping and charging me £224....cue a huge row and it is currently sitting in my porch waiting to be collected....probably tomorrow at some point when I expect, most of it will have gone off. Twats. .

LackaDAISYcal · 21/06/2009 20:19

Happy Birthday to fury's DS and andie's DS (hello andie if you are lurking and did we upset you that you don't talk to us anymore???)

lol Norty at the rubbish all over the table; ours was a bit like that as well (apart from my contributions of course ). I thought tombola was for things like wine and biccies and toiletries, unwanted pressies etc? some of the crap we were touting was unbelievable. someone had handed in an old tigger moneybank that was filthy. I had to wash it before putting it out, and then there was a load of old tatty toys and shit like that. I think next year we will ask for better quality donations!!

Congrats to your brother Jammy.....what does a humanist ceremony involve exactly though?

Alas no repeat performance from bumble last night, 2.30 and 5.30 and he slept in with us in between! Ah well, I touched a life without sleep deprivation briefly and I suppose it serves me right for being gloaty

Had a good day today; BBQ ast a friends, catching up with old mates and sitting relaxed and happy while the kids played in the wee park in the middle of their culdesac and stayed well away from the grown-ups

now i am supposed to be listing used nappies. I am horrified at the true extent of my addiction that has been revealed by getting them altogether in one place . Should make a bit of money on them though.

OP posts:
JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 21/06/2009 21:14

Your BBQ sounds good Daisy and good luck selling those nappies As for a humanist ceremony - well I'll tell you more after the event! As far as I know, it's a non-religious celebratory ceremony of the wedding, which can be conducted by anyone. But they have to have a reg office wedding as well apparently to make it a legally recognised marriage.

HellHathNoFury · 21/06/2009 21:24

Evening all

Happy birthday to all the missed birthdays while I was away!

DS had hand foot and mouth disease, poor mite, but he is ok now. I bought him a mini micro for his B'day which he is already a master of.

Just waiting for my sister to arrive (she flies out tomorrow and I live near heathrow) then I am off to bed.

Rialentless · 21/06/2009 21:48

happy birthday to DS fury, poor little thing (and Andiem if you're lurking)

BBQ sounds good daisy. as does wedding Jammy. Norty, how did they cock up your shopping so much? Asda deliver here a couple of times a week (amazingly, considering the store is 40+ miles away) and I was thinking of shopping online if when DH goes back to work full time.

Wanderingsheep · 21/06/2009 22:58

Hiya! Just thought I'd pop in and say "hello" . I've been away from mn for almost a year because our computer knackered!

Hope you are all ok! Congratulations for all the new arrivals that I have missed! And any new pregnancies!

Happy 2nd Birthday to all the little ones! The time has gone so fast!

DD is little madam who never shuts up, lol.

I used to be izzybel btw!

Rialentless · 21/06/2009 23:28

hey izzybel, good to see you. A whole year without MN? how did you manage?

not ignoring you. must go to bed as DH out overnight so I'll have to force the kids to school on my own. DS2 probably is too poorly to go still (he had 2 sleeps in the car today) but I don't know if I should take him (and his ABs) so they can see he is ill and send him home, rather than get into trouble for his attendance again (also it's sports day and his class assembly this week, they've already said he doesn'tlike changes in his routine, so if he's off that will confirm it). But even to me that sounds a bit harsh. It isn't his/my fault he tries so hard to keep himself going that when he is poorly it lasts ages. Will decide in the morning after seeing how he sleeps.

Wanderingsheep · 21/06/2009 23:58

Hope your ds gets better soon ria.
I have missed mn and have been dying to get back on, although I have felt a lot less guilty about my parenting style .

I'd best get some sleep too as have other children aswell as dd to look after tomorrow.

TheNatty · 22/06/2009 11:43

hi izzy, good to 'see' you, lets not leave it another year tho eh?

got my health in pregnancy grant today, and had to pay it all out on bills to stop us losing phones/internet connection, and to stop the council banging down my door for the 65 quid in council tax i owe them!!

grr that was supposed to be my money, AIBU to be irritated ive not seen a penny of it?

HellHathNoFury · 22/06/2009 11:53

Hello All

Izzybel it has been a while!

Natty I got mine too, it went on food and DS's birthday party. At least we get it, eh? Any money is good money.

Still, having said that I'd rather NOT get it and pay a good deal less tax if I am honest

TheNatty · 22/06/2009 11:58

that would be nice eh? doesnt work like that tho does it?

surestart grant people lost my application in the post (again) so ive got to send in a new one, they are about 3 weeks behind as well so wont be seeing that before the baby comes, which is annoying as i wont have the money for a cab should i be out shopping so will be getting the bus home in labour

typical eh?

LittleMissNorty · 22/06/2009 11:59

Morning

Hello Izzy....good to see you back. Hope you will stay with us...lost a few posters recently and thred is getting very quiet!

Well, I gave ASDA what for this morning and told them if they weren't here by 12 to collect it, it would be on the pavement.....just had a phone call to say they'll refund me the lot and I can keep the shopping - result!!

HellHathNoFury · 22/06/2009 12:15

WELL DONE NORTY!

I have a brag moment too!

My little sisters best mate knows I have been coveting her handbag collection for years and she gave me one of her used Chloe Paddington ones!

I just looked it up on ebay, new they are £700+, used £300-£400!

LOVE HER

HellHathNoFury · 22/06/2009 12:16

Natty I would send recorded if I were you!!!
