Sorry, Is BIL OK Fury?

HellHathNoFury · 23/06/2009 09:57

the GP at my mums place is like that. You have to be bleeding out your eyes before they will see you.

BiL is not good. They broke his jaw, he has lost all his teeth. He has to have his jaw wired and surgery to put teeth back. He will be drinking protein shakes via a straw for 6 weeks.

Bastards. I know he cheated on her and he's a shit, but he did not deserve this.

Wanderingsheep · 23/06/2009 10:17

Hello!

What is it with gp receptionists? They're like mini hitlers. They seem to love the control!

Fury I love Eurodisney! Although dp didn't seem keen. We haven't taken DD yet but I can't wait.

Still waiting for 2 yr check here! They do do them here as DD's little friend has just had his.

Wanderingsheep · 23/06/2009 10:18

God that's awful about your Bil! Noone deserves that.

LittleMissNorty · 23/06/2009 10:19

god how awful

LackaDAISYcal · 23/06/2009 10:26

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Holly's DS

omg fury, your poor BIL.

It worries me a bit when DH is off fishing as some of the areas he fishes in, especially on the canal, aren't exactly Henley-on-Thames!

I was nearly bitten by a dog this morning . It jumped up and nipped me mid thigh but only got a mouthful of jeans. But Dd was walking alongside me and it was the right height for her face. I was fucking furious with the owner (the same one who doesn't clean up after it who I have had words with before) who tried to say it was just being friendly! . He refused to believe it had nipped me as well the fucking tosser and just walked away from me; no apology nothing. I am soooo angry. I'm trying hard to banish thoughts that he has trained it to do this on purpose after I reported him for the dog fouling; paranoid, moi?

OP posts:
Rialentless · 23/06/2009 10:28

for your BIL fury - did he have stuff nicked or was it "random", and do they know who did it?

for you too norty, I'm sure they go on a special course to learn how to be difficult. Dsis says one of her favourite things at work is ringing GP surgeries and pulling rank on the receptionist

LackaDAISYcal · 23/06/2009 10:28

Our GP is quite good. You normally get seen the same day or at the very latest the next day. Book ahead appointments are like hen's teeth though....which reminds me; need one for DS re his bedwetting and me re my meds as I only have one left and can never find the repeat prescription slip.

OP posts:
Rialentless · 23/06/2009 10:29

report him to the dangerous dog people daisy!

HellHathNoFury · 23/06/2009 10:30

he keeps saying he deserves it for what he did to my sister, I think it's very sad.

She is back with him to care for him at the moment. There is a rumour that the guy that did it was the brother of the 'mistress'.

LackaDAISYcal · 23/06/2009 10:32

I thought about that Ria, but it's a wee poodle and I fear they will just laugh at me

It will get the benefit of my foot in it's teeth if it tries it again I can tell you. I'm so cross as DD likes to walk home from school and it's going to make me nervous and anxious now as we pass it most days. The pavement at the other side of the road is is on a slope with lots of side streets so a bugger to push the pram one handed along or we would use that.

OP posts:
HellHathNoFury · 23/06/2009 10:34

Oh Dear - I realise I should but BIL's attack in context

They live in Wisconsin in the US...
He cheated on my sis and she moved out - they have been having problems for a few months but he has been trying to make amends...
She was in the UK last week for a wedding ...
She got a call to say that while is was out kayaking with a friend on the river (a quiet river in the US) a bunch of guys started on him and his mate and beat him up.

The rumour is that one of the guys was the brother of BIL's 'wronged mistress'

HellHathNoFury · 23/06/2009 10:35

Daisy, report him anyway, a poodles teeth can do as much damage as a more burley dogs teeth.

I am a dog owner and I adore my dog, but dogs need to be kept under control, especially around children

LackaDAISYcal · 23/06/2009 10:41

still sounds bad though for him Fury, and no-one deserves to be beaten up like that.

I hope they can either sort things out, or move on amicably.

I'll give it the benefit of the doubt this time, but if it comes near DD at all he will have a lot to answer for. I may have a word with him tomorrow when I'm a bit calmer.

OP posts:
HellHathNoFury · 23/06/2009 10:48

Oh it's terrible Daisy, yes he was a sod but he did not deserve a beating like that, I feel terrible for him

LittleMissNorty · 23/06/2009 10:50

about the dog - and its owner. Its people like that that give dog owners like me and Fury a bad mane. I've got a fucking great big 40kg labrador and can keep him under control. I'd report him as well....sometimes its the little ones that are the worst. Your DD should not grow up frightened of dogs cos of that twat. Its so unfair. In this house however, we have to teach DD that not all dogs are as friendly as ours and you can't just go up and yank a toy out of their mouthes and expect them not to mind

I've written a great long e-mail to the PCT about my crappy GP and the way I was treated when I was pregnant....then sent it to DH who can censor it before I send it to them.

LittleMissNorty · 23/06/2009 10:51

god I'm having a bad morning .....I meant a bad name

Wanderingsheep · 23/06/2009 11:10

I'd definately report him too, Daisy. Doesn't matter if it was a poodle or pit bull. All dogs are dangerous if they aren't controlled properly. It's such ashamd that people like him give decent dog owners a bad name!

LackaDAISYcal · 23/06/2009 11:18

I'll check out the council website later and see who I need to call

What is the general feeling about things like pull-up nappy pants? Good thing or waste of a good man's air?

We are trying to suggest to DD that she is too big for nappies as a start to getting potty training underway, but she categorically refuses to entertain pull ups at all and throws them around the place and insists on a nappy. But....she is wanting to go on the potty and sit on the toilet (never does anything in there though ) and the pull up nappies seem like they would be much more convenient. I'm under no illusion that they will speed up potty training as we used them with DS1 and they were treated no differently to a nappy. But, the whole potty training thing is a mystery to me, as DS1's nursery did it all for me the last time and I was more relaxed about it at weekends

OP posts:
LackaDAISYcal · 23/06/2009 11:20

lol at bad mane Norty.....I like the idea of you and fury wandering around dog walking with wild, unruly hair

OP posts:
Sputnik · 23/06/2009 11:27

This is just my personal opinion but I think pull-ups are a rip off. Either they are potty trained or they're not IMO.

However DD was potty trained at nearly 3, we just took the nappies away, and we don't have carpets so no problem for accidents. It was easy at that age though.

LackaDAISYcal · 23/06/2009 11:32

Maybe I should just accept that she isn't ready yet then? rather than making it about what's easiest for me?

DH We have bought several packets of pullups by mistake though, not realising till he we had opened the packet so I was thinking I need to use them up!

OP posts:
Wanderingsheep · 23/06/2009 11:58

Most people I know say that they're basically the same as a nappy but perhaps less absorbant. Because of this they just tend to do their business in them anyway (or so I've heard) treating them as a nappy. Dd really wants to wear her dora the explorer knickers but will NOT go on the potty or the toilet, so don't think she's ready yet.

Do you know - my MN habit has come back with a vengeance! I shouldn't even be here! I've got loads to do before my mindee comes at 1.30!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 23/06/2009 12:19

about the GP recption for Norty, the dog for Daisy and the BIL beater for Fury. (I agree if he's cheated then he's a twunk, but doesn't deserve that.)

Daisy - I would do something about that dog. Poodle or not, it should be under control. I hate it when owners do nothing to try to control their dog and then say "oooh, he's only being friendly." I am perfectly willing to believe the dog is only being friendly, and is only carrying out their doggy instincts - I don't expect a dog to remember that not everyone likes being licked in the face/groin/whereever - but I do expect the owner to know this and take action to stop it happening [grrrrrrrrr].

And I agree that getting an appointment in advance at our GP is getting harder and harder. It's like if there is anything the slightest bit wrong with you then you are not allowed to have a life and make any form of plans. Want an appointment in 3 weeks time? You're having a laugh! They want you to ring in the day before and they'll then fit you in. Fine for them but rules out any chance of planning a nice lunch out or whatever [grrrrrrrrr again]

Am thinking of trying jamlet with no nappy tomorrow . She seems keen on sitting on the potty, and has had several sucessful goes. But I'm not going for pull ups, personally. Although i can see the temptation as if she says she wants to use the potty it can be too late by the time I've undone the poppers on the wrap and then the poppers on the nappy. But we bought her some pretty pairs on knickers in France last week so am going (I think) to just give it a go with them - they can be pulled down in a flash.

HellHathNoFury · 23/06/2009 13:09

Did someone here have a thing for James May?

I just had a little hello with him, and the other one Jeremy whatshisface.
