HellHathNoFury · 11/06/2009 16:02

yes, happy birthday Chloe

why is daytime tv so shit?

oh btw... if anyone doesn't like baking cakes (me) and prefers to take the easy option of waitrose entertaining (me) for the birthday cakes, quidco have a 7% discount on waitrose entertaining cakes, plus they do free delivery - I am getting a dinosaur cake delivered to my house on a sunday for £19.

Better than the £52 the local cake lady quoted.

LittleMissNorty · 11/06/2009 16:09

That's pretty good Fury....me....I went to Tesco's and got an ITNG one for £7.99....not that I'm tight you understand

Are you sure they're having book clubs

We have a teenager next door who is only loud and bold when her mum goes out

HellHathNoFury · 11/06/2009 16:12

I would have been ok with a £7.99 one too but my mother is a cake snob and sometimes it's just easier to spend the £10 and keep the peace.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 11/06/2009 16:19

LOL at cake snob! (And it takes a lot to make me type LOL as I usually hate that abbreviation!)

HellHathNoFury · 11/06/2009 16:22

it has to be made especially, don't you know

with DS's name on it and everything

She thought I was being tight when I said no to the £52 candied creation of a tractor

LittleMissNorty · 11/06/2009 16:30

Funnily enough, this year my mum offered to get me a Waitrose cake for DD and I looked on their website. I have to say they are beautiful. But I just couldn't spend that sort of money on it then shove a knife into it and ruin it and then scoff it.

Link your one Fury

LittleMissNorty · 11/06/2009 16:31

Are you going to pretend you made it?

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 11/06/2009 16:32

The good news is that after just one dose of eye drops and ABs my eye feels less sore and weepy So looking promising for not having to go back tomorrow

HellHathNoFury · 11/06/2009 16:36

this one

oh good lord no I'm not going to pretend I made it

As long as someone made it especially for him she'll be happy

LittleMissNorty · 11/06/2009 16:37

Oh that's lovely

LittleMissNorty · 11/06/2009 16:38

Good news Jammy

Oh god, DD is hanging off the gate into this room whinging "poo poo mummy"....lovely! better go and deal with it then!

HellHathNoFury · 11/06/2009 16:39

s'pose I'd better get dinner on then, the gannets are due home soon.

Rialentless · 11/06/2009 17:57

baggins is trying to smother me with a book and saying "mummy gone"

glad you're feeling better jammy.

nice cake fury. was wondering if I could be bothered to make baggins a Rag Doll canal boat. Probably not.

our neighbours have brilliant arguments (and a dog that whines). our neighbours when DS1 was tiny and had gastroenteritis reported us to SS because he cried, my HV was disgusted. thank goodness.

TheNatty · 11/06/2009 18:44

my gosh, i have had the most stressful few days ever.
being told another 2 weeks for income support (at least they said) jobseekers no idea as they are demanding paper work that doesnt exsist
and i have had 2 lots of balifs on my door for the number of bills unpaid. (including the £1200 croydon council say we owe them in benefit overpayments wtf?)

the kids are being nightmares, DH is being an arse swanning off out for the day leeaving me to deal with everything and im having more and more panic attacks.

anyone want to run away with me? low milage, not great bodywork but im very good at footrubs

Rialentless · 11/06/2009 19:42

natty.

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 11/06/2009 19:49

Natty, that is really shit. I had a bailiff turn up yesterday and I was shaking all morning. Just remember they cannot enter your house unless you let them in. DO NOT LET THEM IN....EVER!! If you let them in once then they can come again and brake in if you don't let them in. 'Tis shit. Once you are on JSA you can then get your council to buy back the debts from the bailiffs and you will then pay them a nominal fee (ours is £3 a week). I know, we have just done it!

Off to catch up now...

TheNatty · 11/06/2009 19:50

ok me me moment over, you can all stop hiding

happy birthday to all the LO's, and that cake looked great fury.
norty my DD does that.. only its cos she wants to use the potty and wont go unless i am standing over her

your neighbors sounds really shitty jammy i am always worried one of ours will complain!

TheNatty · 11/06/2009 19:53

thanks holly i will look into that.
just ever so stressful isnt it? we havent even had the surestart grant yet, i keep calling them and they keep saying they havent processed it and until they do they have no idea how long it will be..

hmm baby sleeping in a drawer then.

LittleMissNorty · 11/06/2009 19:59

Natty. Hope you get it sorted. Haven't you got any baby stuff left over from Ellen? Baskets and baths and the like?

Hello Holly ....still no job for DP? Horrible situation out there I think....so few jobs in the papers these days and obviously lots of people going for them!

DH out on a private job and I'm waiting for him to come home with a kebab

LackaDAISYcal · 11/06/2009 20:04

Happy birthday to Chloe

your new neighbourhbood sounds very fruity Fury!

We had the same ITNG cake as Norty. I would have baked, and used to do a lot of baking, but since being gluten free we never have any flour or anything in the house....well that's my excuse anyway

Jammy, fingers crossed your eye is on the mend by the morning.

Bugger for you natty....I hope you can get all this sorted out soon.

I've had the day from hell today with whinging, screaming DD (wonders what the neighbours are saying about me!) and a cloth eared DS who Does Not Listen to a word we say.

DH has just taken the mattress of his loft bed and stuck it on the floor and it will be taken down at the weekend and go in the garage as threatened previously. I went in to say goodnight and he was standing on it fiddling with the blind and the window again (he has been in trouble too many times for opening the window and hanging out from the height of his loft bed). He doesn't seem to believe us that he is in real danger of falling out of the window and doing a serious injury to himself, if not worse and thinks our annoyance at him is unjustified....silly little boy.

HellHathNoFury · 11/06/2009 20:08

Natty I was just about to ask if you had any hand me downs but Norty beat me to it. Hopefully you'll have a few gifts from people as well?

We had almost everything except a moses basket and a swing, which we got from a boot sale for £5. Anything else we will ask for as gifts for the baby.

Holly a few years ago we had a lot of problems with bailiffs. It's horrid, you have my sympathies, and you are right, NEVER LET THEM IN!
Put a chain on the door!

FrazzledFairyFay · 11/06/2009 20:12

Natty, I hope it all gets sorted soon

Happy Birthday Chloe

TheNatty · 11/06/2009 20:23

no nothing left from ellen, i have tried to revive her cot, but no mattress for it, we didnt use a moses basket or anything.
baby will have to sleep in bed with me for a few weeks, with any luck one of our relatives will take pity on us!

LackaDAISYcal · 11/06/2009 20:25

shit cross posted there......with everyone.

bailiffs must be pretty damn scary.

Natty, I have some stuff to send you...will get it sorted this weekend I promise!

OP posts:
JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 11/06/2009 20:26

Natty and for you. Really hope you get something happening FOR you soon.

Well the end of day delivery finally came at about 7.30 . DH now out in the garden putting things together. It was a pain that it was so late, but at least jamlet won't see them until morning. I've iced the cake. It looks very much like a home made cake (messy, rather dribbly icing) but I'm pleased enough. I made a mistake in that I thought I'd bought ready roll icing, but seem to have picked up icing sugar instead, hence the icing being a bit messy. but hey, she's going to be 2, she's hardly likely to complain is she?? And DH says it looks pretty. I will make sure I get a pic tomorrow.

OK, got to clean the kitchen floor, clean the bathroom and pack for our holiday! Looks like it'll be a late night for me tonight, and then a busy day tomorrow, and then an early start (~5am) on Saturday means I can't sit up late tomorrow, so you all have fun if I don't see you for a week or so
