dead bodies are fine actually.

Don't do "working with people"

HellHathNoFury · 10/06/2009 15:24

Some of the cadavers I have met have been the nicest people I have ever know.
They don't hog the biscuits, conversation, limelight, or bitch behind your back.

Trouble is, they never call either.

LackaDAISYcal · 10/06/2009 16:38

Happy Birthday to Fairy's DS

I hope you are having a lovely day.

Families eh? Can't live with them, can't kill them

I would hate to think that I will ever take my personal hang ups out on my DC, or resent them in any way (although it might come to it if that boy of mine doesn't sleep through sometime soon )

Been out to the park today with a friend and her DS, and managed a sneaky pub lunch as well, so not all about children for once. Bumped into another friend in aforementioned pub and agreed to a night out.....very soon

And I have arranged someone to come round and give us a quote for the bathroom this evening. It should be a good price as it's one of our neighbours who is in the building trade who is on a temporary lay-off due to the recession and he is looking for something to fill his time with until things pick up again.......and his house is immaculate so I trust him implicitly with ours!! DH should be pleased; tight git prudent spender that he is

Is everyone watching the footie?

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 10/06/2009 21:41

I've been working.

I think I've got conjunctivitis or similar

LackaDAISYcal · 10/06/2009 22:07

I started a post ages ago, got sidetracked and forgot to press send!

Ah well....no footie here.

I'm having a horrible panic attack and been just staring at the screen with the anxiety building. I now feel like going into the garden and screaming at the top of my lungs.

DH and I have been looking at our finances this evening....and although we should be OK based on incomings/outgoings without any contribution from me we seem to just hemmorhage money every month. Also the thought that I'm now no longer contributing finacially is very very scary indeed....as I've always worked/been independant. I need to get a job of some sort!

LackaDAISYcal · 10/06/2009 22:20

for your sore eyes jammy. you can get chloramphenicol over the counter now though as "optrex infected eye"

justbeme · 10/06/2009 22:49

Hello - anyone heard from Foxy - hope she is ok.

and Daisy are you feeling any better? Can you do any breathing exercises to calm yourself?

LackaDAISYcal · 10/06/2009 22:53

Hey jbm . how are you?

I'm feeling a little better; not thinking about the money issue seems to be doing the trick

DH said he was going to bed and I was going to have a G'n'T, but he's still up, so I can't as I'm not meant to be drinking midweek

foxy has been on FB, but hasn't mentioned her tingly-ness since the other day.

justbeme · 10/06/2009 23:13

That's good on both fronts!!

Im off now - but will keep lurking!

HellHathNoFury · 11/06/2009 06:52

I want to go back to bed

Was supposed to go swimming in about 10 minutes, that is SO not going to happen

Daisy, did your nappy selling business not take off then?

Rialentless · 11/06/2009 08:14

morning all.

our neighbour has just been taken away in a police van ('tis a very quiet street really), so DS1&2 are in a state of panic - DS1 cos he panics about evrything (wonder where he gets that from) and DS2 cos he's terrified of policemen! He has just made me answer the door to DS1s friend - just in case!

hope you are OK today daisy. I am in complete denial about finances, other than knowing we haven't got any and being very grateful for council tax benefit.

no football for me last night - just sleep, and not very restful at that.

had roasted veg in harissa last night with our roast chicken. Yum.

Rialentless · 11/06/2009 08:14

that made not much sense re finances - DH still hasn't been paid, and it's 3 weeks now

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 11/06/2009 09:19

I know what you mean about haemmorhaging (sp?) money, Daisy. Even on mt part time wage, I should be able to manage month to month OK, but every month I run out . Thank goodness DH earns more than enough to keep the household afloat. I guess I should use his money more, but I can't shake that independence thing and just go out spending his cash, even when it's on his child!

Well, have made the birthday cake Just hope I can turn it into a beautiful butterfly tonight . (Not that it's a caterpillar or anything at the moment!)

Ohforfoxsake · 11/06/2009 09:38

I'm lurking.

Thanks for concern, I went to docs, got blood tested, waiting for a week for tests. Still a bit wobbly, but better

I'll be hanging around on the Gifted and Talented threads

HellHathNoFury · 11/06/2009 09:46

Foxy

No showing off or competitive parenting here please.

Take care now.

LackaDAISYcal · 11/06/2009 09:52

ooooh, what's up with the G'n'T foxy? do tell....I like a bit of competitive parenting proud parenting moments me

Glad you are better and fingers crossed nothing sinister in the test results. There was a thread on MN last night, sounded similar to your symptoms that you mentioned the other day and I wondered if it was you with a namechange?

Right, one child whinging, the other wreaking havoc elsewhere in the house (did I mention she tried to eat one of DH's antibiotics the other day? ) so she is not to be left unsupervised.

Off to look at wall and floor tiles today for my new bathroom.....Mr Daisy is leaving it up to me to choose Whatever I Like the cheapest and best

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 11/06/2009 12:48

Glad you're a bit better Foxy.

Arse! Was expecting delivery "first thing" today so waited for that before going to pharmacy to get eye drops. But delivery never came I rand them at 10.30 to be told it had been put off until late pm. By time time I then got jamlet up from her (marathon) nap, and hung the washing out (hadn't dared go into back garden before for fear of missing delivery) and walked at jamlet pace to pharmacy it was 11.45 and then they refused to sell me eye drops over the counter (I hate that pharmacist!) and then the doctos said I had missed the morning duty doctor session and would have to wait until 2pm to ring in and be given an appointment for the afternoon duty doctor. FFS! I now can't plan anything for the afternoon, and am just praying that I get home by 4pm for that delivery.

Rialentless · 11/06/2009 13:34

well done to the GnT foxcub

I have decided that work makes me ill. (DH arranged for me to go to school at lunchtime while I was out with baggins this morning!)

I have my first tutorial in half an hour too. Now I remember why I hated maths at school.

HellHathNoFury · 11/06/2009 14:20

Jammy that's a pain in the arse.

I am REALLY bored of working now.
13 days to go.

I got a class action payout today. £20. Woohoooooo....

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 11/06/2009 15:33

Well saw the GP, got antibiotic drops PLUS oral penacillin. She's concerned about the puffiness around the eye so I've got to cram in almost a full days worth of penacillin in what's left of today and take drops at double strength today and if no better in morning go back. (Because of us going on holiday on Saturday). Arse I don't want to end up popping out from Jamlet's party to go to the quack!

And before I went in I spoke to the GP on the phone who said I could have just gone to the pharmacy, and I explained that I had. So she asked who I had seen and said she would have a word. Well, by the black looks I got from the pharmacist AND all the other staff when I went in to collect my prescription you can tell the doctor had already had a word .

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 11/06/2009 15:37

Oh and our neighbour has been making comments to other near neighbours about hearing jamlet crying

HellHathNoFury · 11/06/2009 15:40

I do hope you gave them a pointed 'fuck off and mind your own business'

Someone I used to work with was complaining to me about hearing his neighbours baby cry

I gave him what for I can tell you

LittleMissNorty · 11/06/2009 15:55

I agree.....I'd tell them to piss off....babies cry! Think DS has shocked my neighbours, he is VERY loud compared to DD!

Happy birthday to Trace's DD

HellHathNoFury · 11/06/2009 15:58

I am not too bothered about DS opening his lungs as long as it's after 6am.

It's only fair.

One side of me I have a screaming harpy the likes of which I never knew existed... every now and again we get woken up at 3am by the sounds of someone being tortured and murdered - no, just the neighbour having a rant at her bloke.

The other side I have very nice neighbours that have loud book clubs (or some such) until midnight and a little yappy dog with a vocal issue.
