That's great news Natty

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 03/06/2009 13:15

Good news then Natty Hope it goes well.

Doc couldn't find anything wrong to hang this high temp on. But she was perkier by the time we got there and temp had come down a bit. So he said to keep an eye on it and go back if it continues. So we went to the children's centre, if only to give out a couple of party invitations, and she played there for an hour before she was suddenly all worn out, then it was dinner time so she ate (first good meal since Sunday) and then we came home. Temp back to 39 though, so more nurofen and now she's napping. But her nappy has been dry since 9.30, despite her having (what seemed like) a lot of water. So hoping it's just the heat meaning she's not weeing so much and nothing more serious.

TheNatty · 03/06/2009 13:19

hope all is well jammy, fingers crossed its just a bug and nothing more serious

yeah fairy thats what i was thinking... i just fancied a cheap holiday 100 quid for a week is easily done (plus petrol and food ob) i wish i could drive lol!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 03/06/2009 13:24

Thanks Natty.

HellHathNoFury · 03/06/2009 13:31

Jammy do keep us posted. Poor DD.

Natty we are going away over Christmas itself, to Centre Parks in Elvedon. Can't wait... but tis v expensive (£1000 for 7 nights from memory)

FrazzledFairyFay · 03/06/2009 13:31

hope she feels better soon Jammy

TheNatty · 03/06/2009 13:58

gosh fury that is alot of money, would need to book for next year now, and pay it off in order to do that i think.

will have a look at website, fancy doing just 4 nights or something, 23rd, xmas eve, xmas day, boxing day?

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 03/06/2009 14:03

Fury, we may with my folks over Xmas, in norwich. Will let you know if we are and perhaps we could see you briefly? Perhaps on our way through Elvedon?

HellHathNoFury · 03/06/2009 15:00

Sounds good to me Jammy

We are happy to leave the park, but tbh it might be good for you to get a day pass as then Jamlet and DS can splash together in the pools etc.

But I am easy!

LittleMissNorty · 03/06/2009 16:08

Hope she's ok Jammy.....we don't have any heat or sun here today ....and I sent DD to nursery in skirt, t-shirt, sandals and no coat

I'm now back on the waiting list to have my gall bladder out....

Huggies swim nappies are half price in Tesco's atm everyone

LackaDAISYcal · 03/06/2009 16:26

We got a cheap deal for pontins last year (it was a freebie with only £40 for an upgrade).....not great shakes really, but I've never been a fan of holiday camp type holidays. We used the pool but it was fecking freezing and only a rectangle of water; no slide or anything. The accommodation wasn't the cleanest I've ever been in and the sofa bed was sooooo knackered you sort of fell into the middle with your feet uphill from your head and the chairs were orange plastic bucket chairs......very classy . If I'd had to pay for it I would have been really pissed off.

glad jamlet is a bit cheerier jammy and I hope it's a tempo thing with the nappy. DD had something like this a while back and her nappy was bone dry even after a nights sleep...next one was sopping wet though.

Bumble was giggling away there, and when I looked up DD was sitting on his chest trying to do "row the boat"....she just won't leave him alone at the minute.

she has discovered she can walk backwards so has gone eeverywhere like that today!

and I'm £175 worse off after the car had a trip to the garage . I can now go uphill in third gear again as it's firing on all cylinders!

camping, love it and have done it with DS a few times....it's much better now he's older, but when he was only two we had a weekend where it rained and rained and rained and he was waking at 5.00...farking nightmare trying to get him to keep quiet. We ended up driving to an all night truck stop and drinking tea until "morning". Maybe next year with this lot, but the thought of it fills me with dread. We might aim for abroad in a tent first

am of your Christmas hols fury. I love centre parcs, but refuse to pay their overinflated prices during peak times in this country.

Natty - house-swap or Butlin's offer in the Sun are the way to go. We aren't even contemplating a holiday. The building insurance needs to be paid.

Ohforfoxsake · 03/06/2009 16:39

Christ, that was a miserable post of mine! Sorry!

Shitty nappy calls

HellHathNoFury · 03/06/2009 16:39

Daisy my mum went there last year and said it was brilliant.

If I am honest though I am more inclined to believe you, as my mother, bless her, is the sort to say a pile of shit is a pile of gold just to see if it will make people envious.

I am not a fan of pontins.

Love CP though... but yes, it IS expensive. I am questioning the sanity of my decision now, but when I booked it, it seemed like a really good idea at the time

Ohforfoxsake · 03/06/2009 16:56

I like CP, and there are deals to be had.

I can't rave on about house-swapping enough though for a cheap/near enough free holiday.

TheNatty · 03/06/2009 18:05

my mum has agreed to come down for a few days when dh goes in for his op..
i cant believe it.

my mum is not the helping type.. at all...

Rialentless · 03/06/2009 18:10

there was a holiday offer in the Express a couple of weekends ago. Will go and see if DS1 has used it for the rabbit cage...

Rialentless · 03/06/2009 18:18

can't find the paper, but it seems you needed tokens (I was sure there was an offer where you didn't, it was just a website). The Sun run their tokens again at the end of summer though don't they, for Sept/October breaks?

daisy I aren't coming with DH this time, but we can try and meet up when he comes for his follow-up, if I can get DM to have DS1&2 after school. Hopefully we'll get a bit more notice for the next appt. The clinic is usually on a Tuesday though I think.

TheNatty · 03/06/2009 19:51

shame about the paper ria. im rubbish at token collect things i always forget to buy the paper!

kids in bed, but claiming they are hungry still, so making them beans on toast now.
they are making up for eating nothing the last few days as it was just too hot for them i think.

LittleMissNorty · 03/06/2009 19:54

Ria - done what I can to answer your questions.

Still no birthday card or phone call from DDs nanny

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 03/06/2009 20:55

Shame about DD's nanny

Jamlet tired by end of afternoon so had an early night with more ibuprofen. But better than yesterday all in all And hasn't woken umpteen times this evening (so far).

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 03/06/2009 21:50

Where is everyone? Hah! Bet you're all watching the flippin' Apprentice?!

Rialentless · 03/06/2009 21:58

not me! just won tonights round of the bedtime battle

DH is out overnight tonight at the old hotel, he is doing breakfast then meeting with the senior management to find out where his wages are and tell them where to stuff their job will have to try very hard not to be late for school, don't want another bollocking off the secretary

thanks Norty. Will be very glad when it's Sunday (apart from the church fundraiser I have offered to do stuff for that I haven't got round to yet)

TheNatty · 03/06/2009 22:07
