Sazzles my washer is STUFF FULL, each load. I've only made it through....I think three washes so far (one dried & folded, one in the dryer, one washing...) okay maybe only two washes so far and one mid-wash. I've turned my kitchen floor into a sorting staging ground in the HOPES by sorting them BEFORE the wash it will be easier to put them away once they are dry. This actually means I'm sorting TWICE (once for color/fabric and then once by type: my tshirts or socks/undies or towels...you get the picture). I can not believe I've been so lazy with the laundry. I unearthed several nice things that could have been worn recently but "couldn't find them".

Ouch with the dry shaven bits. WTF where you thinking? Show of hands...who dry shaves? Dizzy is right ALOE ALOE ALOE woman!!! OUCH!! {{{HUGS}}}

My hope is to score a nap when I get from picking up dd1. Tomorrow I have to have her at school early for preKindergarten testing. After school I will her best friend with me (our next door neighbor....we are still friends but she knows I don't like her dh's heap of junk new/old truck). The grandfather died day before yesterday (expected) and she'd rather leave her dd3 out of all the graveside chaos. They played so well yesterday I doubt they'll be any trouble. PLUS I'll have the sitter here.

Oops did you find it difficult to work the the children when the parents were home?

must run

Could you tell her he'll wake her when he comes in, and then say she couldn't be woken?
Not a nice trick but it spares everyone's feelings.

Off to look busy

Oh feck, I am busy

Sazzles you are a nutter. When they're feeling better, try shaving armpits using hair conditioner - esp the teflon types like Pantene and Tresemme. Much less reactive than detergent-based gels/foams and softens the skin too.

I can make Bristol on 22nd hurrah, will be driving so zoo fine by me or can do Park&Ride if meeting centrally. Won't be able to do London though unless we do it on the bank holiday Monday??? Would that be v naughty of us, to sneak away from the traditional inlaws-and-garden-centre-scenario?

We've had a semi-success, poo-wise here! DS1 did half a poo (well, runny mess actually) on my bedroom floor then ran to the loo and finished the job there!

My NCT meeting last night did indeed cheer me up and I am now hosting a cake and wine night in July, £5pp for a glass of wine and all the Hummingbird cupcakes I can manage to make by then!!! And I wasn't even drinking

dizzydixies · 13/05/2009 20:57

yipee for the hummingbird cakes

LoveBuckets · 13/05/2009 21:04

F*ck!!! Just made a batch of Mars Bar Muffins, licked the bowl and realised I've completely forgotten the sugar!!! Another example of my f*cked up brain. Managed to stir in a teaspoon to each and pop them back in but maybe things not looking so good for my cake night!

dizzydixies · 13/05/2009 21:08

never mind that, mars bar muffins sound delish so pass on the receipe please!!!

TwilightSurfer · 13/05/2009 21:12

ROFL Buckets!

I must confess life's not been peachy here today either. Reese was caught playing in the toilet bowl TWICE.

Laundry still going..........

Miamla · 13/05/2009 21:26

Is that TS over there or a huge pile of laundry?

Well the cakes are pretty much a waste of a mars bar but luckily I only used one and used leftover easter egg to eek it out. Recipe is a MN one, 'Classic Muffin recipe' by Fruittea - her variation is Snickers but I don't like peanuts in sweet things myself. Her Caribbean sunrise one is nice too, bit like Hummingbirds but less sugar (therefore not as nice of course.)

Anyway, for my party I'm thinking of doing Hummingbirds, Red Velvets, Mars Bar muffins (uniced), Fruittea's pear and ginger streusel (bit more grown up), raspberry white choc (uniced) and maybe if I can be bothered cherry and almond with pink glace icing. I already have a volunteer to make some and I can borrow my mum's freezer - aiming for a dozen of each and anything extra is a bonus, I'm sure people will get competitive and bring some of their own along too. Is this all stupidly ambitious though?

TwilightSurfer · 13/05/2009 21:45
Shock
TwilightSurfer · 13/05/2009 21:45

WOW BUCKETS

TwilightSurfer · 13/05/2009 21:46

CAN I COME TOO?

TwilightSurfer · 13/05/2009 21:46
Smile
Miamla · 13/05/2009 21:46

buckets, i think you'd better post me some cakes. there's no way you can host a cake and wine evening without them being quality tested first!

dizzydixies · 13/05/2009 22:03

buckets can I be so bold as to make a slight suggestion? you seem to be taking a lot on with this SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO would you consider doing towers of lots of different types of cupcakes all iced/decorated? they can look absolutely FAB with different cupcake cases and all different flavours /sizes/finishes would let them try more I bought some lovely stuff off a website for the christening and made lemon cupcakes with lemon butter icing in white cases with a waferpaper daisy on top and they looked brilliant

either that or do some white chocolate cheesecake, unbelievably easy and never fails to impress

dizzydixies · 13/05/2009 22:09

my hummingbird cakes have a pathetic rating on here they're some of my best work [wails][meep]

ataraxis · 13/05/2009 22:17

Phew - new thread, I can just about manage 167 posts . I have read up to Miamla 21:46:37 so apologies for any xposting in the meantime.

steaky things are so tough for you at the moment.

sazzles to read about your friend. It's really tough to lose someone so senselessly like that. Little secret that only my dsis knows - L was born on the birthday of my first love and best friend who died in a car crash when he was 24. Maybe she held on for a reason...

lwfh CONGRATULATIONS!!! Delighted for you and a little bit . Definitely no more babies in this household. Though DH is still on his 'might have to repopulate the world so no snip' lark . I will win out eventually.

dizzy DS2 is exactly like that. Drives me insane. I tend to insist that if he has something 'proper' then he can have a treat (even if it is only 9.30 in the morning). However, this morning he had icecream for breakfast . Bribery for staying in his bed last night rather than being up and down until 10pm as has been his want recently .

ts, don't you have any toys for your poor child?! .

Very at another Bristol meet up as I have to work . Ah well. I will be there in spirit.

DRY SHAVING???????

Hi to everyone else .

DD is fab, really really happy. Crawling like a maniac, now pulling herself up to standing and I don't think it will be long before she walks. She finds her brothers absolutely hysterical (mostly). Loving life with three, but as you may have gathered, not much free time these days.

dizzydixies · 13/05/2009 22:20

ataraxis lovely to see you

ataraxis · 13/05/2009 22:23

Hi sweetie, how are you doing? I haven't been able to read the entire other loads of threads that I have missed.

Things ok with you?

dizzydixies · 13/05/2009 22:29

just the usual perpetual chaos that is a result of 3 dc, dh who works variable shifts and being a scatty mare on the surface I present a calm, well maintained yummy mummy who looks like she's just stepped out of a boden catalogue with her joules clad offspring
