HP I think Reese is not too far behind Isaac weight wise. Her car seat is suppose to weigh 11lbs...DH set her carseat with her in it on the scales and it said 33lbs....that would make her 22lbs (and she was NOT wearing shoes).

hotterpotter · 12/05/2009 17:32

Oops you would be welcome to it, I am actually shocked how much he's put on in the last 2 months (nearly 5lb) good job we don't go to the HV clinic or she would be very at us.

Expectant can't believe you've gone back already, did you get to meet any of us?

TwilightSurfer · 12/05/2009 17:33

Bad Mummy Alert
Reese pulled on of the dining room chairs over on her head a little while ago. Proudly I did not panic but gathered her and walked outside to see her head in sunshine. She'll have three nasty bruises but I think she'll be fine.

I really have a calmness about me with her that I didn't have with DD1. It's very very strange but nice to have.

Steaknife · 12/05/2009 18:42

Things that cross my mind as I catch up...

HP euw Mr. Whippy. In my first ever job in a tourist cafe I had to clean the Mr. Whippy machine out. 'Tis a haven for all sorts of nasties. I still think that ice cream can be too cold.

Thieving stories. DH and his BF tried to steal a couple of bottles of red at the supermarket the other week, unfortunately I put it all on the check-out so they had to pay for it.
Un-necessary - ie not poverty stricken, have to feed my kids - shop-lifting really bugs me. As does ticket evasion. Grr grr.

Sazzles sorry to hear your news. Very sad for you and your friend.

TS stoopid DH and his fine. Hope Reese gets back to herself.

AnnVan · 12/05/2009 18:42

Hi again everyone. Sad to say that laptop issues are not yet sorted. I've been posting on MIL's computer. Although the GOOD news is that issues will soon be sorted, as we have ordered a new one, which should be with us in a couple of weeks. I will soon be back online.

LONGWAY Congratulations!! wow!

Hope everyone is doing ok at the moment.
DP was off work sick today to get back some test results from the doctor. Gave us a little time for ... ahem
AND he's been browsing local jobs today as well, so fingers crossed he actually starts applying for some, things will be a lot easier if he works closer to home.
Seb seems to have a tummy bug though. He's pooing bright yellow liquid very frequently.

Steaknife · 12/05/2009 18:50

Right - onto the most recent page so hopefully my thoughts will be more relevant - I have already sussed the BIG news.

LWFH congrats how exciting!

I think I hear DH's step so sorry, not time to up-date on our situ.
But it got worse yesterday, but I'm hoping it is the "gets worse" bit before the "get better" bit.
I have employed underhand, well under-duvet, tactics (sp?) and have suggested the shagaday to get closer again. DH very keen on the make love not war form of therapy.

LoveBuckets · 12/05/2009 19:15

OMG Longway Congratulations! Could be Christmas baby too, you never know!

Well I've had a shite day here. My thyroid test results came back normal but all my research says it's perfectly possible to be hypothyroid and have these 2 hormone levels as normal - more tests should be done but GPs are v quick to rely solely on the 2 results. Locum GP wasn't going to debate it anyway, ignored my 2 risk factors, ascribed all my symptoms to low level depression and I should do more exercise. I swear I'm not depressed and I walk 60-90mins a day, there is more to it than that - so just to prove it I cried and walked out. When I've stopped crying with frustration I will have to go back and push for more tests and/or a private referral. Will go for the kindly old partner who seems fairly trigger happy when it comes to BUPA.

Then I had to collect DS1 early from preschool as he'd had 2 massive poo explosions and a shower(!) and they'd run out of his nappies and clean clothes!

Am absolutely shattered but reckon tonight's NCT committee meeting could be just what I need to perk me up again.

TwilightSurfer · 12/05/2009 20:57

BUCKETS {{{HUGS}}} Steaky your make love to war theory could backfire on you. Consider life at the present moment PREGNANT. Would it be a situation you could handle? Please becareful as you work to find solid ground.

Steaknife · 12/05/2009 21:09

TS we are being very careful and contraceptives are in use.

Anyway, am renting a car to get over to Malvern, any of you lot inbetween Gatwick and Malvern? I am looking for nice places to stop for baby feeds and mummy coffees.

Steaknife · 12/05/2009 21:11

obv not meaning to invite myself to strangers houses, what I meant was anyone live somewhere with a pleasant place to refuel me and lil one en route.

Steaknife · 12/05/2009 21:13

Oh and who's up for a London meet up?

oopsacoconut · 12/05/2009 21:18

Which direction are you going Steaky? M40,M5? or M4, M5 I think m40 way is quicker but it's not my direction

oopsacoconut · 12/05/2009 21:22

Buckets - {{{HUGS}}}

Steaky - {{{HUGS}}}, have you prepared your questions/discussions for tomorrows counselling session?

TS - how's Reece's head?

Hi Ann

Oooh Steaky - If you go Sazzles way we are on the way (ish) too. we are 20 mins off the M4.

Sazzles - I am still up for a Bristol meet - but if it's just us 3 then we could make it closer to Malvern direction. Or can we drag in some stragglers from the far reaching corners of the country?

TwilightSurfer · 12/05/2009 21:51

Oops, since Reese's accident this morning she's bumped her head two more times. Needless to say she's looking a bit beat up but doesn't seem to mind. Gravity is not a good playmate. :-)

poppysocks · 12/05/2009 22:08

I'm around too for any potential meet-up. Just depends really on which day and where. I could most easily do Bristol next week or London the following one. London probably easier for me....

poppysocks · 12/05/2009 22:08

Found the shoe by the way.

Miamla · 12/05/2009 22:11

TwilightSurfer · 12/05/2009 22:19

dd1 has had her best friend over most of the afternoon. they've played so well. reese has been easy too. with both content i've been able to finish up some housework. now all that's left to tackle is laundry...it's piled so high in the laundry room i'm scared to go in. maybe i should just toss the whole stack in the bin and go shopping.

dizzydixies · 12/05/2009 22:22

evening all

very quickly as pooped and DH waiting on me to go to bed

PIL visit was the same as usual [grrrr] and DH and I are now slowly recovering from it. Girls are all well through

LWFH lovely news, just let me know when its time to start obsessing talking names

oops hugs

TS arnica

VG and sibh very re meet would love to be there

Expectant can we send you a care package?!

poppy glad you found the shoe and still looking for Dylans, its somewhere in the front room

steaky safe journey to blightly

PF if you're lurking - hope you're ok

No1, Hots, Sazz, buckets, Ann

have missed you all and have a meeting tomorrow night but after that I'll be back properly

Sibh · 12/05/2009 23:09

Great news about the shoe Poppy - where was it?

And good to hear about a good day for your DD1 TS. Bruises abound here too. DS tried to comfort DD2 after a fall today and accidentally headbutted her in the process (did I mention personal space issues? ). She was absolutely livid.

Buckets - sorry your trip to the docs was so frustrating. Deffo have another try at getting through to them.

We had a lovely time on the beach this afternoon. DS was playing with all the girls in his class and it was just lovely to see them chasing each other around and coming up with mad schemes.

DD2 ate a lot of sand. Sazzles - I'm finding that she is less interested in food than the others were. She will get there at some stage I hope.

We were canvassed by a local councillor and his friends this evening and I have to say it was a classier affair than I'm used to from the uk where fedoras are not standard canvassing wear. I think they may have been teleported in from the state's past

And they cooed over DD2. Very discerning as well as well-dressed.

I think I may be hallucinating with tiredness. Goodnight all.

TwilightSurfer · 13/05/2009 00:37

Sibh sounds like our days were quite similar. How is it we can have amazingly terrible days then suddenly one of perfection?

Wishing all a wonderful sleep.

Expectant · 13/05/2009 05:44

Dizzy care package would be greatly appreciated - they don't make sleeping pills for babies do they

HP sorry our visit was really manic so didn't get to meet anyone always next year though...Will be in Leeds then for brother's wedding so might be easier?!

Ooops what is this 10 days you speak of.... I thought it was supposed to be a day per hour that you lost so I was planning on minimum 7 days (admittedly this is the rule for adults).

He was a little better last night and awake from 9 to midnight and briefly at 4 and 6 (actually that sounds pretty bad when I type it) then I had to wake him at 7.30 so I could get out of the house.

LWFH hope this doesn't mean that we'll be losing you to the due in December/January thread

hotterpotter · 13/05/2009 07:48

Oooh Expectant I can do Leeds!!! I shall look forward to that . Hope DS amazes yo with his jetlag recovery. Christening pictures are lovely too

Sibh for your proximity to the beach. Sounds like you had a lovely time

Dizzy glad you've survived PIL, looking forward to your return

TS sounds like you had a fab day too . Both my DC are permanently covered in bruises. Speaking of which, DS crying back soon I hope...
