V quickly as baby awake and grumbling.

Bristol on 22nd.

London on a yet to be appointed day of w/c 26th as I will be coming up for other stuff anyway.

lots to do today so got to dash.

hotterpotter · 13/05/2009 08:27

Was just a poo [smelly]. He's safely ensconced in his highchair now, munching toast, although probably should be Special K or ryvita.

Buckets for you re Dr, hope you can get it sorted with the other one.

Steaky hope your shagathon has the desired effect . I second TS though, be very careful!

Ann looking forward to you getting back online properly

DD sick yesterday but she is currently singing chick chick chick chick chicken and eating toast so I think she is recovered. Flipping 48-hour rule at nursery, am going to have to get her running around outside today

Morning

Bristol for the 22nd is good for me! Might even be brave enough to come to London too.

VGB - NO is my answer - although I do feel awfully slatternly amongest the polished bodies of the Yummy Mummies.

We are off to a BF Awareness week Tea Party today at the childrens centre mmmmm cream teas.

DD better last night but had such a screaming fit at being put down last night that she woke DH who was in the spare room

A word of advice - DO NOT BUY M&S childrens banana porridge - it may have no additives but is truely the most vile thing ever made with fantastic artificial banana smell that stick in your nose. DD had one spoonful and now refuses to open her mouth for any food!

dizzydixies · 13/05/2009 09:27

right quick question please ladies and sorry its a tad off topic (I'm going to try better at not coming on here and ranting/raving/bleating on and using you all as free therapy/life coaches etc ) BUT before I do can someone help me with DD2 please? She doesn't eat breakfast in the morning, I accept that some people don't want to eat first thing so thats fine - she ASKS for it but leaves it, ignores it and round about now, having been up for several hours, she starts stating that she's hungry

only biscuits will do apparently so am fed up wasting brekkie and being pestered all morning for crappy foods because I don't give in to it and barney inevitably kicks off

tough love for a couple of days to kick it or another tactic and if so what?!?

oopsacoconut · 13/05/2009 09:42

Dizzy - maybe you should put out her brekkie but don't put the milk on cereal then when she asks about now then offer to put milk on her cereal for her. Tough love it might have to be!

Or take her to the shop with you to chose her cereal and make it only for her, that might be an altrenative.

See I'm no good at making decisions!

NOW GO BACK TO WORK!

dizzydixies · 13/05/2009 09:48

cheerios sans milk it is Oops

Sibh · 13/05/2009 09:51

Adding milk when she's ready sounds sensible.
And a penalty if a barney kicks off (a sad face on a chart, a toy put away until the afternoon)?

I haven't had to do this with DD1 as she is biddable but it worked with DS - he really 'got' the happy/ sad faces thing as he started to notice that his behaviour was visible had an impact on other people.

Could you also start to talk to her about nutrition in a simple way so that she can see why you're insisting on food with 'good energy' in?

The shop thing could end up in a coco pops fest, but giving her a choice of cereal or porridge topping might allow her the victory fix she needs if it's become a bit of a power thing.

dizzydixies · 13/05/2009 09:54

she's quite good with cereal and will eat pretty much whatever we have when she's in the right mood to eat it iyswim, I suppose I shouldn't be so bloody mean, she's loaded with her bunged up nose and milk isn't great for that either

she's currently munching on cheerios happily so we'll keep going with that, thank you ladies

hotterpotter · 13/05/2009 09:56

Not talking to Dizzy, oh no, but if I had a DD who wouldn't eat her breakfast I'd do as Oops suggested and let her choose her own special cereal, even if it was cocopops or whatever. My friend's DD eatsthese which are basically chocolate biscuits with added vitamins, but at least she does eat it

hotterpotter · 13/05/2009 09:57

OK much wiser words from Oops and Sibh ignore me
