Miamla · 24/05/2009 07:22

hmm, we've been awake for a little while here! but with our new system, it does mean he'll be going to bed early tonight
no disastrous effects from taking paracetomol with wine
apologies for my rambling last night
and all that was before I partook in wine

steaky we need to sort out when we're seeing you (now our bristol comrades have confirmed you're not a mass murderer)

oopsacoconut · 24/05/2009 08:00

Morning all

have been LOLing at Miamla's chatting lastnight.

am trying to play catch up but have a monster sweet child on my lap so it may take a while.

DD was mucho better yesterday and appears all healed this morning, maybe she heard us making Cotswold Wildlife Park plans with the grandparents.
We put her in her own room last night and she woke up at 5.30 (amongst other times) this morning very excited at all the things she could see, I need blackout linings as well as curtains! I took her to our room where it took an hours hard work to get her back to sleep and we were up for the day 25 minutes laater.

okay now she is biting my toes, I'd better go make breakfast.

AnnVan · 24/05/2009 08:58

Morning all. Well my little pickle decided that 6.45 was wake up time, despite having been up till nearly midnight last night I eventually gave up and came downstairs so DP could have a lie in (he gave me a lie in yesterday)
Little man has a horrible red line on his head. He fell off the couch and hit his head on the edge of the coffee table. I was upstairs getting dressed when this happened. (DP always pulls the coffee table right up close to the couch) He felt really bad about it as well. He was just saying 'It's my fault, I shouldn't have the coffee table so close. If it wasn't there he'd have been fine' etc.

alittlebitshy · 24/05/2009 09:32

ann aw poor dp. it's awful when you feel that you8 could ahve prevented it even if really it isn;t your fault

oops so dd likes her room? not so good about early start though.

miamla yay for chinese. lol at the plastic packaging.

steaky yes, will we manage to get a London meetup in while you're here? How are you atm anyhow and how is it being away from dh and are you chatting to him on the phone lots?

oopsacoconut · 24/05/2009 09:38

ALBS - DD loves her room - I'm not so sure. In a truly pathetic PFB way I feel she is too far away and has never slept away from me.

Ann - in Dizzy's absence - ARNICA ARNICA ARINCA!

TwilightSurfer · 24/05/2009 15:16
lwfh · 24/05/2009 18:45

Hi all - really sorry for not catching up. We are back home in foreign. Flight OK. Greetings to everyone. DS very cute at the moment, very smiley and enjoying his toys. Still not on the move yet ... Off to the supermarket now.

dizzydixies · 24/05/2009 20:51

someone mention Arnica??!! give me an hour moment to catch up after recent absence

cyteen · 24/05/2009 20:55

Ann hope your boy is feeling less sore-headed now. Poor little scrap.

lwfh glad all four of you made it back home safely My DS sounds much like yours atm - not on the move but soooooooooo cute and delicious and very chatty.

In fact, there is a new pic of him on my profile [proud]

cyteen · 24/05/2009 21:17

We have had a lovely day here today - bright sunshine, barbecue in the garden, gentle pottering, many delicious foods made by the fair hand of moi - but DS seems to be troubled by his teeth as we've been up to him three or four times tonight I can hear him grumbling now as DP tries to get him settled. So on that note I am having a bath and then going to bed, as I think it's going to be a long one!

dizzydixies · 24/05/2009 21:18

oops silly sods giving you a fright and not telling you why they want to see you

miamla your dp sounds like a dream

vg and lentil very of the meet up and LOL at the rhyming and abbreviating kids

VG cycling hols with a 1yr old? you're braver than me !!!

lentil glad the kids being utterly gorgeous and well done Mr Lentil on the t-shirts, I love a longsleeved white top to get the summer stuff out a bit earlier

glad the Bristol meet went well, a shame that Poppy missed it am sure she would have beenabletodescribeyoualltome enjoyed it, my DD2 missing her DD1 dreadfully bless her

ann hope liberal lashings of Arnica applied to the wee man, tell DP not to beat himself up about it, happens to us all and I won't even begin to describe the catalogue of disasters that have occurred over the years Chez Dixie

LWFH glad you got home safe, how are you keeping?

cyteen and CC how are the new pads? all settled in ok?

waves to everyone else have been horribly absent in recent days

dizzydixies · 24/05/2009 21:19

oh no Cyteen, poor Joe - have you got some teething powders? hope your night goes ok

cyteen · 24/05/2009 21:20

Yes, thankfully there are remedies of all kinds scattered about the house. Calpol has been given so hopefully it will kick in soon. More squawking from above

dizzydixies · 24/05/2009 21:33

so a quick recap of the life of moi over the past few days.

DD2 turned 3 yesterday so we went for lunch, went to the boat club open day so they could go out on the speedboats & got their faces painted, had a BBQ back at the house with friends and some vino. was a lovely day (photos on facebook) and DD2 was brilliant through all of it

today she has been a complete BAM. Over tired stroppy diva, pushing her luck, being a horror at toddler gym this morning and still kicking and shouting upstairs tonight my patience is wearing thin and I'm tired

DD1 is on good form and wrote her wee sister's birthday card that she loved her and that she was the best I reminded her of that after DD2 was a little git in the back

Dylan on really clingy form which is rather tiring. she's crawling and moving about but I'm still finding feeding her solids a hit and a miss and she only wants me at the moment, not even DH will do.

we were supposed to be going to see a childminder tomorrow but she phoned to postpone as she is full of the cold bless her. DH was told today he has an interview on Tues for a position he really wants - nothing like 3 days notice to prepare when he's to do 6 questions and a presentation and work 3 shifts as well guess who's going to be doing the presentation then

he also got the date his assignments are due in wrong, its the 8th of June so I'll be busy typing those up too

all going well with the cafe, planning application has been validated, met with EHO and a supplier during the week, fingers crossed lease finalised this week so I can start getting in the architect and getting some quotes done. Am back volunteering in the cafe on Tues morning and they sold all my hummingbird cakes no problem

all very boring stuff sorry

cyteen · 24/05/2009 22:07

You're still riding that dixie rollercoaster all the way to the edge then dizzy All those ups and downs. Seems like life is never boring when you've got three, eh?

Actually I've been meaning to thank you, and RedLentil, and pf and all the other August mums with 3 kids - I really enjoy reading about what life is like with three, you all paint such a warm and fascinating picture of loving chaos, iyswim. It even makes me like the idea of three a little bit

I am probably saying this all wrong

Not in bath yet (obviously), Joe seems asleep after a combination of milk/Calpol kicking in/change to a 1 tog grobag - the poor thing was really hot. What are everyone else's LOs wearing to bed these days? We've still been putting him in vest, sleepsuit and winter weight grobag as the nights have been surprisingly cold the last two weeks, but tonight it is bona fide warm so I guess a rethink is necessary...

Went a bit mental in the kitchen today and made bread, burgers, jerk chicken, roast vegetables and a really nice fruit loaf with rhubarb and dates that Joe loved.

dizzydixies · 24/05/2009 22:12

tis perpetual chaos here but I wouldn't have it any other way, unless you're offering me a nanny/housekeeper/gardner/chef/personal trainer etc I wouldn't be too proud to accept those

dizzydixies · 24/05/2009 22:12

sazz have you heard from PF at all? can you please text her and let her know we're all rooting for her from afar

Steaknife · 24/05/2009 22:14

Hello peoples.

Sadly it looks like we won't make it up to London again.

I have to go up to stay with Big Bro at the weekend so I think trying to squeeze a day up to London from Devon is a bit much for me and lil miss.

Very sad about that.

ALBS I'm doing okay. We've been enjoying the sunny weather and pottering around the town festival - particulalry the sand-sculptures. Met with old friends and everything rather lovely.
Talking to DH most days and sending him photos of our hols.
So all good but looking forward to going home too (funny how home changes depending which side of the channel I am on!)

well I'm all pinky english from the sunshine so bedtime for me.

I too had a lovely day at Bristol. Sazzles and Buckets are just smashing as are all the mini Sazzles and the Bucket boys.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 24/05/2009 22:18

vg have been trying to do a link for last houraaaaaghhhh check out the Taga in Mothercare it is many many £££££££ but cool. I saw a demonstration in my local pram and bike centre. it even takes a carrycot for a new born.
Hi dizzy sounds like a lovely day, dd had her 1st proper tantrum today. Oh the joy.
cyteen hope you manage some sleep, and the calpol works.

lwfm hi, glad the flight went ok.
ann poor seb, wasnt dhs fault though accidents happen.hope he is ok.
miamla can I just say I was pmsl at your chattering last night how funny you are and that was before the wine. Are you sure
oops glad dd is better, great she likes her room, but sad for you not been near and fingers crossed she sleeps a little later in the morning.
sorry for all i forgot i can here ds stirring, oh and dd

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 24/05/2009 22:20

cyteen can I please come to yours for tea
yummy food

cyteen · 24/05/2009 22:22

All are welcome but I must warn you that it's rarely a slimmer's menu here

dizzydixies · 24/05/2009 22:23

No1 I finally put up photos of DD1 riding on FB she's counting the sleeps till we're back at the farm!

hotterpotter · 25/05/2009 08:17

Morning hope no-one is or even [red] from too much sun yesterday, wasn't it lovely. DS had his first go in a paddling pool, it was much less serene than DD's first go but he did enjoy it. Looking good again so far today, might even finally get my runner beans planted today.

Miamla did you get rid of your greenhouse yet?

No1 that Taga is amazing, I want one! We had mega-tantrum yesterday from DD, think it was too much fresh air leading to over tiredness, anyway she was asleep 10 seconds after lying down in bed, hope your DD slept well too

Steaky sounds like you are having a lovely holiday, am very of a trip to Devon

Cyteen DS too has been in vest, sleepsuit and 2.5 tog bag. Thankfully his room doesn't get too hot because the blackout lining is permanently attached to the window (although this does mean I can't open the window and it does smell a bit trampy in there sometimes ). Hope Joe slept better in his lighter bag.

Dizzy I am exhausted just reading about your life Good luck with the powerpoint presentation!

lwfh glad you got home safe How are you feeling?

Oops did you try again with DD in her room or did you chicken out?

Everyone, hellooooooo

What you all up to today then? We will be pottering around at home, but I am already looking forward to next year when I will be able to drive us all somewhere lovely. Can't believe I have mucked about for 20 years without learning to drive, it's sooooo much fun . I even managed a passable attempt at a 3-point turn yesterday Of course I would fall to pieces if there wasn't my instructor next to me going, OK brake, no into first, clutch down, etc etc etc .

Isn't it your first lesson today Ann? Good luck!

hotterpotter · 25/05/2009 08:18

Obviously I meant not [red] cos the little cross face looks sunburnt, geddit? Doh...

dizzydixies · 25/05/2009 09:13

lol, morning hots no sunburn here and not looking likely today again either. Well done on your driving lessons, I remember mum used to have the door open waiting on me coming home from mine as my legs were always shaking the only reason I passed my test was because my beloved Great Aunt had a stroke the day before and when I got in the car I thought 'sod it, I've got more important things to be worrying about today but I'll give it a whirl' that and a MASSIVE vat of rescue remedy!!!
Ann rescue remedy for you too!

when DD2 finally went to sleep I went up, DH woke me (well I heard him come in at 1.30) then Dylan was up at 6am so am pooped as usual. DH forgot to buy milk coming home so I was at the shop at 6.30 in my pyjamas looking like a right sight - how the hell do I think I'm going to be organised enough to open a coffee shop

right, Dylan napping so I'm off to distract DD2 to let DH get on with his presentation, should be a whole world of fun
