Morning from still-sunny-nottingham (just).

What a gorgeous day yesterday! We tested the new garden with an impromptu bbq for 8 adults and 7 boys (children of said adults, not just random street kids ). It passed with flying colours . Did I mention how much I love our new house?

Relatively late start here (7am). Ds2 now asleep again - dh yet to wake up . Lazy fecker.

VG I'm liking the slightly sticky fondue set you got me from the fete

How's everyone doing?

hotpot no1 cyteen -did we set a date yet? sazz are you going to live up to your title of 'attending every aug 08 meet up?'

oopsacoconut · 25/05/2009 11:47

Morning everyone

Another early start here, DD awake and being very very sweet at 6.30. We came down and played and had brekkie. DH got very very slightly bladdered tipsy last night with his dad. They found a bottle of wine under the stairs that we had been given on our wedding day and drank it (along with 4 other bottles of random red wine)I googled the name on the label this morning and can't wait to wake him up with the news that it was a £500 bottle of wine. He is still sleeping in the spare room where I placed him at 3am when I got up to DD and discovered all the house lights on the telly blaring and him snoozing on the sofa.

He is taking us out for posh childrens tea at a local hotel all those noisy kids should be perfect for his head!

HP we ended up going here and got a touch burnt too.

Dizzy - your life is chaos as normal. See you have engrained the words arnica in my head everytime some one bumps themselves!

CC - good to see you.

Hi everyone else back later to chat and catch up!

Cheese Rolling!! That actually looked like fun.

to all. I'm lost in the real world and only skimming each day but thinking of you all. More FBing because I can do it on the go.

I've found something new and thought I'd share. How many of you have been to this salon? I've fallen in love with their mint body scrub (so has dh secretly). I'm almost willing to drive to Atlanta to go to the spa closest to me.

Happy Memorial Day!!

lwfh · 25/05/2009 15:14

Happy 199th anniversary of the first self appointed government!

Hello!

oops - 6.30am is a lie in in our books! 4.30 here was morning ... but I blame that on the time difference!

Thanks for all the messages. I think that the new one will arrive mid December, all being well. Scan on Thursday. Doing well, just feeling tired and vaguely pukey at times.

Off to the park later. Hurrah.

CaptainCaveman · 25/05/2009 15:23

ts I got my fitflops from Bliss. Never tried any of their spa stuff though - do you recommend it?

oops at £500 wine - I hope they enjoyed it?

Feeling most broody still. It just isn't going away! Sadly dh says no more

TwilightSurfer · 25/05/2009 15:57

Longway, your with us so the pregnancy will go very very easily. We'll take good care of you both.

Captain, the minty body scrub is INCREDIBLE! It has a mentholness too it which causes you to feel cool all over as well. I totally recommend it.

Ds is in a 1.0 tog at the mo with sleepsuit and vest.

oopsacoconut · 25/05/2009 18:39

DD's room is very hot (was 25 last night) as it is south facing so last night she slept in a vest and a thin cotton sheet. Most nights it is just a babygro and/or vest with sheet.

Dizzy - the Hummingbird is a fab name and you can serve your signature cakes

Hi Sazzles - we were not far from you yesterday. HAve you been to Woodchester Park? It is a bit of a trek to the lakes but is amazing once you get there. It is buggy friendly too.

Hi VG.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 25/05/2009 19:08

Hi all Lovely day here at the Horse show.
Did mange to get there for 9.15am just dont ask what time i had to get up to make it though!!!! was funnt though i set my alarm to get up and showered before dcs woke, and guess what ds woke up 5 min before alarm. Are they tuned in or what????
and he didnt go back to sleep after a feed
My 5yr dnephew entered his little puppy in the 'dog most like owner' class and came first.
my 10yr dneph entered dog in puppy with waggiest tail and came 3rd.

vg did you see the Taga?????
dizzy Hummingbird is a great name for cafe
sazzles that cheese rolling looks really scary, but fun too.
Am I really cruel then as ds hasnt been in his gro bag for months now,and he has no covers either. He is just like dd no blankets and a fidget.
oops at that wine, hope all the children were extra loud at the hotel
ts that menthol scrub does sound invigorating (sp?)
cc not got a date for meetup yet, but to my suprise dh has extended our holiday. We are now stopping off somewhere else on our way home for another 4 nights. Bless So not sure when you were thinking of meeting up.

LoveBuckets · 25/05/2009 19:11

Just popping on to say hi before going to bed. Been to a grown up bbq with DH, played ukulele (badly) in a quartet! Got quite drunk and it has been the longest hour of my life since we got home - just not sober enough to deal with kids.

Ooh Kurt pulled himself up to standing in his cot this morning!

would love to call it the Hummingbird but two slight problems

a. I don't think I'll be allowed as its not my cafe
b. humming up here in gadgie land means something is stinking/awful/not nice so am sure all the wee local neds will wander in and ask if I am the humming bird iyswim?!

buckets pint of water before bed for you my love!

Dylan in vest, sleepsuit, velour grobag and a blanket when I go up at night, we are NE Scotland after all

no1 sounds like a fab day, I hadn't realised it was the local show on Sat so we've missed that one good thing about Scotland is that there is a highland game somewhere almost every weekend

oops photos are gorgeous, what a lovely lovely place. at wine though, I hope they enjoyed it

TS I hate all things mint apart from after eights but the rest of the stuff looks lovely!

cyteen · 25/05/2009 20:11

VG I am back at work a week on Wednesday. The nursery is lovely but I'm still wibbling. No worries on the rugby though, I can't stand it so care not that anyone beat anyone iyswim.

no1 sounds like a lovely day. Arf at your DS waking up before the alarm though...I haven't set an alarm in, ooh, about nine months now.

dizzydixies · 25/05/2009 20:43

cyteen tell me you have MNing internet access at the work [meep]

Oh yes, don't you worry about that Surely you must remember how time wasting active I was in the run up to maternity leave?

Hmm, DS having another unsettled night. He's been cheery enough all day, if massively overtired, but about 5 minutes after going into his cot he started winding himself up into an upset...DP theorises that perhaps babies don't notice the dull thud of tooth pain during the day when there's so many distractions, but when they lay down to sleep it suddenly becomes apparent. What do others think?

oh oh I know this one I know something

remember when I was having toothache issues and it was worse at night time, apparently its because of the blood flow when you're lying down - maybe its affecting the wee man in a similar way

sazz do you have 2 secret children we know nothing about?!?!

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 25/05/2009 21:05

cyteen poor Joe. that does make sense re blood flow and more pain lying down.
sazzles 4 highchairs wow
buckets hope you get to sleep it off and dont feel too bad in the morning.
sounds like a good day though.

Would it be mean to start the wine without dh, he went to settle dd almost 2 hours ago and hasnt come back. he has obviously fallen asleep. Always a tired one when he has just finished nights.
