lol re SelectInviteesNELondonAug+PartnersMeet
All was going really well, DP didn't wear holey socks and he didn't swear in front of them but..not sure their lodger was too impressed by his midnight visitor! (DP was looking for the toilet and went completely the wrong way!)
Was a truly delightful evening accompanied by an amazing black forest trifle

ds trying to help me type so back later!

alittlebitshy · 23/05/2009 19:16

Gosh we haven't been to the library in a long long time (I was too embarrassed about my huge fines for a while - and me a trained librarian too ). No point signing ds up yet as all he does is eat the books. Dd loved her bedtime/anytimes stories from early on but ds thinks if you can't eat the books there is no point.

It is so lovely and sunny! I love being able to go out in just a tshirt (well, trousers too, natch). I did lug mine and dd's summer coats around all day just in case though. Always the pessimist me.

Tonight we are due to have an overnight gust. A monk. Excellent. We had anothe rone a few months ago and dd was over the moon when he had his robes/habit/what do monks call them? on! Actually this monk is another Mnetter's brother (both at uni with dh).

LoveBuckets · 23/05/2009 19:44

We have a Buddhist centre down the road from us and DD is always astounded to see them feeding the ducks. One of the monks is this beautiful, smily lady with dimples, absolute poster girl for Buddhism, hope my DD doesn't get any ideas Guess your DD's not that shocked by men in dresses though, is your DH's church not the dress type?

Buckets that is such great news about your DS1, what a clever boy. You must be head to toe smiling (and not just because of your fb status ).

RedLentil I do hope you can't hear my shameless LOLing from across the water at Tony Hadley-themed confessions My best friend used to work at a company that sold audio equipment and once had a prime opportunity to take the piss out of TH, which she did with aplomb.

Mind you, I'm no one to talk about terrible crushes; been reading my teenage diaries ( x infinity) and the number of references to The Mary Whitehouse Experience is just wrong.

Forgive my useless witter tonight, DP is out at a colleague's wedding reception so I am getting stuck into the wine slumping in front of the telly and MNing to my heart's content.

cyteen · 23/05/2009 21:28

Oh, and I meant to say that just before we moved I noticed a MNer with the username fucksticks...my work here is done!

Miamla · 23/05/2009 21:32

i'm off to find out what bucket's fb status is! back in a mo unless the sleep resisting little monkey DS wakes up....again
It would seem he 8hr success the other night was a complete and utter fluke and will never be repeating again
My own fault for getting my hopes up. I'm back to assuming he's going to wake every hour, I'm less disappointed that way
anyhow, i'm rambling, back soon

Miamla · 23/05/2009 21:34

lol, well done cyteen!

hmm, i've checked her status and i'm none the wiser. sleep deprivation is defintely kicking in and you know what, i can't be arsed to correct typos so you're getting my message raw!

Miamla · 23/05/2009 21:36

redLentil i'm liking your new name

Bucket'sDS1 yay! well done!

Miamla · 23/05/2009 21:39

vg re getting our backsides onto irish soil.. i've started sowing the seeds so soon DP will announce that he's got a good idea about us all having a week in Ireland

Miamla · 23/05/2009 21:44

lol, noone else here. looks like i'll just chat to myself for a little while

DP out at the moment doing a mercy run to the supermarket before they close at 10. due to crap knee, too many doc appts and blood tests, a lovely picnic in the park and other frivolities this week i've been rubbish and not done a food shop. kitchen needs a damn good scrub as well so i guess i'd better go and do that now bffore DP gets back. arse there's a load of washing on the line still i'd better get that in first

Miamla · 23/05/2009 21:44

apologies, not only does my spelling go to pot when i'm tired, but my language goes does the toilet

fuck it all i'm off to limp round the garden getting the washing in

oh woe is me

i'm sitting here grinning at my patheticness

Miamla · 23/05/2009 21:45

DS awake, so i've got a reprieve for getting the washing in!

Steaknife · 23/05/2009 21:48

Only skimmed the thread - but why might you be thinking lil ole me be a mass murderer?

though LOL at French Armoury.

Off to try to catch up....

RedLentil · 23/05/2009 21:51

Miamla - rofl at account of bringing in washing in real time. We need a webcam and we need it now.

The shame Cyteen, the shame.

VG that sounds perfect. I had already earmarked the HH stuff for DS. He will love it. You are more than welcome to stay here. Warning on the mid-renovation state though. There is a lot of navy-blue synthetic carpet around these parts.

All these highs and lows and all that.

Miamla · 23/05/2009 21:53

washing still outside, it looks quite happy out there

actually, i'm lying, i can't see it, its too dark. does that mean its not there anymore?

RedLentil · 23/05/2009 21:56

If you can't see it, it can't see you Miamla.

See, here it is still light.
The advantages of living way out west.

Miamla · 23/05/2009 22:17

for all those on the edge of your seats re my washing...its in!
DP said to me "now when one of us has got a sore knee and there's washing in the garden, which one of us should be getting the washing off the line?"
I do love him but being the stubborn mule i am, we got it in together.
he's also sat me down with prawn crackers and a glass of wine

he got a chinese takeaway thing from the supermarket and has just brought the spring rolls through. it would seem that they should have been taken out of the plastic bag before cooking He's just peeled one for me! i guess he must love me too!

Miamla you're sure that is a spring roll in the plastic and not the hot flannel?

oh and wotcha!

Miamla · 23/05/2009 22:28

i'm off to be funny in RL now
laters people
thanks for allowing me to amuse myself on here
not that any of you had a choice
i guess you did, you can have not read my posts but i'm willing to bet that you were fascinated and reading my every word!

geez, i should be on the stage

knee throbbing, wondering how bad it is to drink and take paracetomol..

cyteen · 23/05/2009 22:31

Miamla it's not that bad, as long as you don't neck double figures' worth of paracetamol. Although obviously IANAD and have also imbibed wine so perhaps don't listen to me.

VG I'd love to say I invented fucksticks but sadly it's just one of the many novel cursewords I've collected over the years...

Steaknife · 23/05/2009 22:46

as I am clearly a thread murderer I'm off to bed.

Betchoo all come out to play now.
