OMG sounds like a whole can of worms! I don't need more things to hide from DH nag DH about. I have enough guilt issues about money to deal with (most unfounded I'm sure , eg I can't seem to accept that the price of food has gone up, kids are growing and we have another mouth to feed so I beat myself up every trip to Tesco) and I'm sure DH does too (then again, he is a man.)

No1 Have a nice time out tomorrow, sure the hair will be fab. I spent £70 on natural-looking hair colouring last month and am bored of it already. (Oh look another money-guilt ishoo.)

Evening all

I've been having a shit couple of days in tears half the time, a combination of mind-numbing tiredness and work issues boiling up. I have made peace with my old manager today and am going to bed in a minute so hopefully I will be more bushy-tailed tomorrow [hopeful]

Have been lurking though, just too fed up to post and a couple of things have stuck in my mind, mainly Sazzles your DD1 weighs less than a kilo more than my DS think it's time the entire hotter household went on a diet Not the best time therefore to be making my very first set of buns of DD's school career and needing to do a second batch because he first ones went a bit wrong

Dizzy will you forgive me, I didn't use any of your cupcake recipes I used StirlingTheStrong's and they are delish. Went wrong because I made the first lot in muffin cases on a tray because I didn't think I had a muffin tin, they all sagged quite badly. When I rummaged in the drawer, turns out I have two muffin tins Once I have lost 3lb and make some more cupcakes to celebrate I think I will try the hummingbird ones

No1 we will deffo have to have a northern meetup. I suggested one last week but no-one wanted to come .

Hi Potter Have one of my Mars bars, they're fat free and have -200 calories.

Why don't you guys have a Northern Meetup at that Leicester babyfest thingy Oops linked to? Or is Leicester the midlands? Oh I dunno

Hmm, sushi, cheap-but-good coffee and an amusing little 20yr old barman who is trying to convert me to his emo rock at the cinema tomorrow. Last week I said his favourite singer was a bit Middle of the Road and sounded like a open-mic-night James Blunt - you should have seen his face!
I'm off to bed before I really do eat the other 2 mars bars. Night ladies.

hotterpotter · 19/05/2009 22:07

Ta Sazzles , and I will definitely be hot-mama-ing again, hopefully tomorrow, but now my bed is calling me. Please please DS sleep well tonight

LoveBuckets · 19/05/2009 22:10

Oh and Hotter, both my boys were huge compared to DD. She was in the infant carseat til about 15m, Kurt was out of it by 8m! Pretty sure she was about his current weight when she was potty trained!(around her 2nd birthday, just to prove I'm not a complete potty-training failure.)

TwilightSurfer · 20/05/2009 00:34

HP {{hugs}} bad days come and then go...like the tides.

Thanks for all the silky leg info. I'm considering going the self-wax route. Sazzles how hard is for you at first with the pain and all?

Very boring day here. Just 11 more weeks till school starts again.

oopsacoconut · 20/05/2009 08:32

TS -11 WEEKS??? aaarrgghh! I used to struggle with 6 weeks. I have my legs waxed profesionally(sp???), it hurts less when someone else is doing it. Only have it done every 8 weeks or so now as have almost hairless legs because I've been doing it since I was 16.

I am off to be tortured this morning as the man is off to Oz for 2 weeks How dare he!

DD slept well last night 10am wake up fed, 3 am fed, 6.45 awake and fed.

oopsacoconut · 20/05/2009 08:33

HP - Sorry to hear you are not feeling great hopefully it will pass soon.

CaptainCaveman · 20/05/2009 09:31

Hugs hp, hope you are soon feeling better.

No cheque balancing here for me either. Dreadful really

I would like to claim a moral victory for school-mums-versus-school-receptionists this morning. I took a cheque in to pay for ds1's school milk, only to be told I was too late and that it should have been paid by May 1st. I asked if I could still pay it late. Receptionist informs me (in a definately arsey manner) that the orders have gone in and its too late. .
So, when I got home I phoned the council who say they can't help, it's a school issue. I phoned the school to talk to the headmaster and end up speaking to the same receptionist, who again informed me it was too late, we'd had ample notification etc etc. I asked what would happen if we'd moved new into the area and she gave me some crap about having 'left over' milk. ANyway, long story short - she spoke to the acting head who said Yes! Ds1 can have milk AND I don't need to pay for it. Bonus . Well done if you're still reading btw!

Does anyone else wake up EVERY morning feeling like they've been run over?? I cannot get over how bloody tired I am. My eyes hurt!

hotterpotter · 20/05/2009 11:22

You guys are so kind Feeling much better today, DS slept till 4 then 6.15, DH brought him down at 7 and I went back to sleep until 9.15 . I think I have been sleeping badly because the mattress is too hard so my side is padded out with some cushion and a layer of memory foam. I feel like the princess and the pea but who cares if it is more comfy

Am in awe of all you waxy ladies. I'm a occasionalbutususallyhairy shaver Must do better in my quest to be a foxy fortysomething

CC well done on the free milk

TwilightSurfer · 20/05/2009 12:51

NICE JOB Captain!

HP so glad you are feeling better. I'm making note of your foxy forty term. That's what I'm going to strive for...foxy forty. I have less than two years to figure it out.

I will be a cool mom today. So how some way.

Cool Sazzles. I've not seen that Veet product. I'll do a little more shopping around. I really like the effects of the cream stuff so far. Just not keen on chemical long term use iykwim.

Ladies, I think my knees are sunburnt. I was outside a lot yesterday but how my knees got the most sun I'm not sure.

Have just paid a few bills and keyed a few receipts but not willing to balance anything at the moment. Too stressing. LOL!

The day is beautiful so I must clean my self up and get out in it with the girls!!!!!!

TwilightSurfer · 20/05/2009 14:36

Located Veet wax products but the roll on wax isn't sold in the US. I can however get prewaxed strips. Flagged them online just in case I can't find them locally. I love a shopping challenge.

Captain I thought about your droopiness and considering the fact that O hasn't slept through the night yet...you need a week of sleep!

hotterpotter · 20/05/2009 18:49

Very quiet on here today, where are you all?

CC I remember that falling asleep over textbook feeling v well. Due to tossing it off while at university I ended up doing my degree part time with the Open University and graduated when I was 35. I could feel fine, pick up a text book or put on an educational video and two minutes later I'd be snoring. This was pre-DC and only a BSc not an MSc, so you have my sympathy as well as massive respect .

hotterpotter · 20/05/2009 21:40

Hellloooooooo???????? Anyone there????????????

dizzydixies · 20/05/2009 21:46

am here but only briefly while DH watches his pish programme

are you well HP?

Sibh · 20/05/2009 21:48

Helllooooooo, right back at you.

I hope your day went better. Like yourself and CC I was just floored by tiredness yesterday and had to go to Cork to invigilate an exam.

Then today involved, among other things, a very clingy, sicky baby, and a 2 yr-old in sole charge of a bottle of black paint. [grin}

I was under the art table being the SOCO officer at the scene of crime that is DS's place setting.

Now I'm supposed to be marking, or clearing out a pan of stew that I forgot to empty yesterday. Oddly enough the lure of MN is strong.

How has today been for you?

OP posts:
TwilightSurfer · 20/05/2009 21:51

Not that anyone cares BUT I have the VEET wax strips in my hands now. No, I'm not using them...it's just the box. LOL! I'm not like Sazzles in my wax + mn abilities. This might take some practice and some tequila. Speaking of which, I'm making MARGARITAS tomorrow for my dad, his wife and her sister. The first two are back from Hawaii for a visit and all are coming over to see the girls (and enjoy my cooking). I figure I've not had hard liquor in a while. Remember the family drama of ...oh....9 months ago? Well it's water under my bridge but you never know. Margaritas typically make everyone happy so I figure it's a safe bet. There's Coronas too. Actually WAY more than we need. I didn't realize DH had a stash so I picked up a case on the way home today. Got home, opened fridge.....another case. How'd I miss that? In my own fridge even. Oh well. I'm hoping it's as pretty tomorrow as it is today that way all can sit on the porch or the patio as well as inside and watch the boats run up and down the river. I really like my home for that reason. And on that note I will be closing on the refinance next Tuesday. Scored the 4.5% interest rate!! What a dream!!!

Can you tell both girls are sleeping? I have so much work to do to get ready for tomorrow but just seemed like more fun to come by the thread, sit back and talk to myself for a while. LOL HP's right....where have all our friends gone today. RL! Give them BACK!!

TwilightSurfer · 20/05/2009 21:52

well talk about asking and receiving!!!

Hi HP, Sibh and Dizzy!!!

dizzydixies · 20/05/2009 22:02

lol TS I have never been considered as a gift before

just off the phone to one of my friends who bought one of my cakes from the cafe without knowing it was me who made it, she said it was very nice, didn't look closely at her bill so didn't know what she was charged for it and wasn't sure how many were left. Its the first time she's suffered an inquisition re cake eating

hotterpotter · 20/05/2009 22:05

Sibh oh no! Hope the black paint didn't go too far That tiredness is a bugger isn't it. I keep wondering if I'm anaemic (unlikely given the amount of red meat I scoff ) but I don't even have the mental capacity to remember to take my multivitamins...

Dizzy I'm currently fighting DH for the laptop rather than telly. He has just started selling a lot of his crappy old records on eBay and he's obsessed with it. They're selling quite well though, eventually we will have more space in this house!

TS I wanna come to your house Cocktails and cold beer sounds like heaven. I am not a lush (Translate - semi-alcoholic) but I do think about drink quite a lot . 23 hours to wine o'clock in the hotter house, yay!!!

Am feeling a bit sick from the number of buns consumed today but it was all in a good cause and I am pleased to report that my buns were not left at the end, not surprising as they looked ace even if I say so myself

Off to bed, it's my turn to et up at the crack of dawn with DS and don't want to be falling asleep during my driving lesson!

dizzydixies · 20/05/2009 22:16

Hots, I am TERRIBLE when I'm selling stuff on ebay - I become embarassingly obsessive about it

am feeling stupidly peeved at my runaway gob as usual and you can tell me if I'm being a complete arse please.

I fell pg in 2001 but had a MMC at 15wks, discovered at the scan. At this point my dbrother and SIL announced they were pg and had my nephew in Sept. I fell pg with DD1 in Oct so there are 9 months between them - when I had DD1 they bought us a present but didn't hand down any baby stuff, sticking it all up the loft. It subsequently got eaten by mice and only what they had in my parents loft is still there. I've since had DD2 and DD3, having to buy a lot new for DD3 as DD2 was pretty harsh on everything, and now they're having it all for their baby due in Sept (7yr gap) I could have made some of the money back selling it on ebay but no no, I have to go and say 'well if there is anything I can do to help you just let me know'

fecking idiot with runaway gobby gob am very angry at myself and a little shocked as they both work, don't need childcare as her mother lives 2 doors away and their DS is at school, in a much better position financially and know I'm on unpaid maternity - am a fool

will just have to sell one of the kids on ebay instead
