You are so right on party bags TS.
They don't seem to do them here and so a piece of cake in a napkin is fine. Thank God.

I'm not surprised you were knocked by seeing your doc by the way ... Good to know your DH was sympathetic.

And don't get me weeping on the end of a phase in your DD's life. DS is nearly finished his first year here, is picking up a Cork accent and is just visibly growing up.

Exciting but heartbreaking too.

Sibh, I think E and i would get on just fine

Miamla · 18/05/2009 22:47

lwfh marks and spencers do cheaper gro-bags and because i'm feeling nice here's a link

thanks all for asking about docs but first available appt was wednesday morning so you can all ask again wednesday evening

I really want to go to bed but DP's got someone here and I can't bugger off until he's gone

ts well done for handling your doc situation so well. i'm pretty sure i wouldn't have been so pleasant if i were in your shoes

other messages on previous page and i can't remember what i was going to say...

dizzydixies · 19/05/2009 07:42

morning all, hot buttered toast and jam for brekker, except VG, you can have Special K and Skimmed milk as you're doing so well

terrible night here but not because of Dylan. DH came home about 1am and woke me up which in the end I didn't mind but he then fell asleep and kept me awake snoring until nearly 4am and Dylan, was of course, up at 5.30

never mind, once DD1 at school and I've been to post office and cafe to hand in cakes I'm going back to bed, he can deal with his sore head AND DD2 for a while

just checked DD1's school bag to find she's another inservice day coming up on 15th June - lovely of them to give us plenty notice its just as well I'm still off but I have a feeling I'm going to have a house full of kids as some of my friends already use their annual leave allowances to cover all the inservice days/holidays as it is. I don't know much about it but seeing as the teachers in our school seem to bail out at 3.10pm would it not be easier to pay them to stay on until 5pm and not loose time with the kids - ho hum don't think I'm brave enough to mention that in an individual thread though

right, children calling and stuff to do, am hoping seeing as I'm first on you're all still tucked up in bed sleeping

oopsacoconut · 19/05/2009 08:29

Dizzy - bed? sleeping? what is this? DD decided at 11pm that her bed was possessed and refused point blank to go back into it after I had fed her - she screamed so much DH came upstairs from watching the telly very loudly she ended up sleeping with me and olonce I was sure she was fast asleep II tried to put her back but she yelled and for a bit of peace I let her sleep with me.

We are off signing and the swimming in a bit not sure she is the the right mood for it though!

Morning when oh when will this child sleep through the night? I got up with him for half an hour at 4am as he wouldn't stop cyring/screaming. Eventually gave in and fed him at 5am.

I'm also beginning to wonder if there is something wrong with me. I am really struggling to stay awake when I try to concentrate. I will literally drop off to sleep. Not good when I'm in a meeting at work!! Got a dr's appt next week anyway so I will discuss it with her then.

House pics on fb I love our new pad!!

Party bags cause me trauma. We filled ds1's party bags with a couple of balloons, a lolly, a crappy cheap yoyo, a car for the boys and some glow-bracelets for the girls. Bloody waste of money......

alittlebitshy · 19/05/2009 10:02

I have a cold or hayfever

ts argh what a dilemme seeing your doc. Glad you coped!

sazz/lwfh That idea about a grobag as a gift is a fabbo idea!!!!!

sazz ds went through a stage of getting stuck on his tum. Now he has turned inot a tummy sleeper bless him.

dizzydixies · 19/05/2009 10:27

CC the house looks FAB - I think I commented on it, I meant to comment on it >

oops thank you

ALBS could you get one of those nasal sprays to help 'loosen' you up a little?

planning application is invalid and its not because of anything I did, it was maps that someone else told me they were doing he has been phoned and will be doing them again!

right off to putonadisguiseandgotocafetospyonmycakes be productive!

Miamla · 19/05/2009 10:31

i typed this hours ago but mn failed so here it is now, albeit a little tardy!

morning!
we had to wake DS at 7.30 this morning! He originally decided that 4am was a good time again to wake up but i managed to feed him back to sleep convince him otherwise! But I have memories of looking at the clock at 5.30 and 6.30 As for what happened before 4am? who knows, but he wasn't sleeping!

Just realised that if its wet tomorrow, i have much hidying to do today

dizz you poor thing, you must be shattered. make sure you get a proper rest today

sazz perhaps he was unannounced in the hope that you'd open the door to him in your silk negligé

oops ds has nights like that too so i sympathise! I'd love to offer some advice but there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it

hmm, it would seem that they're drilling next door today. looks like i'll be popping out then

ooh, has anyone got a mobile number for cyteen?

Ah, DS is so sweet, he's giggling into an empty tin

oops, scrap that, he's eating the label and giggling into an empty tin

Steaknife · 19/05/2009 10:31

Just popping in to wave

We had a tiring day in London yesterday so not up to much today.
Izzy has decided that because we are sharing a bed this means she can wake up every hour or two, rummage around in my pjs till she gets milk and then go back to sleep.
I am v tired.

I haven't caught up with the thread yet, so apologies.
Hope everyone is well and babies are well and there are people sleeping somewhere.

Steaknife · 19/05/2009 10:34

Also if anyone is near Paddington Station then please help us - linky link to toys reunited thread

dizzydixies · 19/05/2009 10:36

right ladies come and hold my hands, have handed in the cakes [meep]

party bags are REALLY easy to do Sazz, its the crap ones we receive that I object to but then I'm a party bag snob

making DH make bacon butties this morning - least he can do all things considered

oopsacoconut · 19/05/2009 10:36

Steaky you let DD play with a £40 squirrelfox?

Steaknife · 19/05/2009 10:38

I know!
It was a gift, I chose it but didn't know the price till just now when I googled him.
It was him or some cutesy knitted duck - Squirrelfox way cooler.

Steaknife · 19/05/2009 10:39

And just reading the tag he came with it says not for under 3's

I really am not some profligate bad dummy yummy mummy.

Steaknife · 19/05/2009 10:40

oh don't all hate me now.

oopsacoconut · 19/05/2009 10:40

Sqirrelfox is fab but Rudie Racoon is the object of my latest desires!

oopsacoconut · 19/05/2009 10:41

They will be fab Dizzy, the coffee shop will be knocking your door down for more!

Steaknife · 19/05/2009 10:45

Rudy looked a bit menacing for lil one.
We were at the Southbank centre and got him in the gift shop.

I also got a very nice scarf, but saw a colour I prefered so swapped it on the way out. Then discovered on the train that the break-me-and-you-will-be-covered-in-glass-and-ink security tag was still on it.

Am going to have to call them up and try to convince them that I didn't steal it even though I don't have a receipt and that they do really want me to post it to them to take the tag off and then post it back to me.

cyteen · 19/05/2009 12:41

Hello all, randomly visiting the PIL so am stealing their internets while Joe sleeps. Trying my best to catch up - so far:

Sazz really sorry to hear about your friend, what a waste Motorbikes scare me too, I know they're thrilling but am too much of a scaredy to risk it.

Big sympathies to Steaky and Ann regarding DPs at loggerheads.

lwfh MEGA BIG HUGE CONGRATULATIONS!!! What awesome news, I am not jealous at all Wishing you a fab stress-free pregnancy.

Glad to hear so many August ladies are finding time to do the nasty - very pleased to be able to add myself to that list The new house seems to have re-energised us, another happy side effect.

We had Joe's first settling-in visit to nursery last week which was all a bit all at once. The staff there are lovely and he seemed okay with it all - we just hung out there for a couple of hours so he can see it's a safe place. All the babies seem really happy and sociable, even the ones who've not been there long, and the atmosphere was very warm and welcoming so my mind is a little at ease.

Back to try and wade through the rest - I'm only on page 7!

Btw dizzy you know I rate your hummingbird cakes, they are rocking. BUT I make them with about half the sugar as the last full strength batch I made were a bit eye-watering even for me...a small nod to healthy living, although I need to make a much bigger one. I am LARDY

CaptainCaveman · 19/05/2009 12:58

Hi Cyteen hope you are doing ok? Have you moved too now? (from your last post it looks like you have). Hope you have settled in ok?

hmmm. Trying to study but struggling to stay awake . Just thought about putting a wash on but then it started raining!! It must be a sign for me to remain slovenly .

Lol, slightly randon thought...I just went to type GRIN to get the icon, and mis-typed it as GROIN. Wondering what icon that might display! or . Do I actually make any sense?

Miamla · 19/05/2009 13:07

nice idea CC [groin]

Miamla · 19/05/2009 13:07

nope, nada!

cyteen you're here! can you fb me your new address please

TwilightSurfer · 19/05/2009 13:08
