Hiya

I've had a pretty good afternoon with DS1 at our friend's house, despite DS1 getting a bit shouty and oppositional. I finally managed to slip in the word dyspraxia in regard to his little friend (have been thinking it in my head but have not had guts to say it out loud to my friend, his mum.) I just acted bimboish on the subject and left the seed in her head to google later. He's very tall and gangly but his co-ordination is so v poor, have noticed how my DS1 has now overtaken him in many things that I used to use as a measure of his lack of skills. Just thought I ought to say something as early identification and help from school might be really beneficial.
Ooh, DH wants me...

pertelote · 17/05/2009 21:39

And when does he not, Buckets?

Evening all, had a good week I hope?

pertelote · 17/05/2009 21:56

Ok, properish catch up... have only skimmed so hullo and apologies to all...

But I see that you enjoyed Eurovision, Miamla's GP is crazy, there is stiff competition for the FBG crown, everyone's tired but there is the odd suddenly-sleeping babe to remind us that there is light at the end of the tunnel and the big kids are being their usual gorgeous, frustrating, clever, fast-growing-up selves. And LWFH! Good lord that's fast work! Congratulations, and like everyone said I hope the whole pregnancy is pure pleasure for you

We had a lovely week in Suffolk, weather wasn't nearly as bad as I expected though more churches-and-bookshops than buckets-and-spades. DD is very clingy so I didn't make as much use of the resident grandparents as I could have done but I DID get my hair cut for the first time since dec - first proper hairdressers appt since DD was born. So nice and so much cheaper than London that I got all townie-bigshot and left a massive tip . DD was very good - she is clapping now, shuffling like lightning and babbling well enough that a fond parent (or grandparent) can almost persuade themselves it means something... Funny thing about being away, our bed was too narrow for co-sleeping so I had to break my habit and get up to feed her - she woke like clockwork twice each night, otherwise slept 9pm-7am. Quite interested to see if she/I can keep it up now we're home, I feel as if it'll be easier to go from that to longer stretches asleep than when she can feed at will, maybe?

I caught a whisper as I skimmed of a possible London meet... Steaky when will you be around? First week of June? Go on, go on...

Phew! I missed you all, can you tell?

dizzydixies · 17/05/2009 22:00

lovely pertelote just lovely

Miamla · 18/05/2009 05:36

morning
no one else up yet? you lazy wotsits! DS decided 4am was a great time to get up this morning so if you think i'm going to make breakfast this morning, you've got another think coming! BUT the good news is that we had two wake ups last night!!! He went to bed at 8, woke at 10 and 12 and then up at 4. AND he spent the whole night in his cot! Granted i tried to get him back to sleep in our bed from 4 onwards but its still one hell of an improvement. He's now giggling at everything, he's going to wake DP up at this rate!

so pleased you had a good time pertelote

buckets.. well done you

Miamla · 18/05/2009 06:07

we're still awake and one of us is still giggling...

morning vg, sorry about lack of breakfast!

i agree on the hairdresser thing... posh haircut in soho=£50. my mum's friend=£10 Her clients are mostly little old ladies so she loves the challenges i've been giving her! although she's getting a bit cocky now and told me how i was having it this time!

arse! i was meant to be phoning docs at 8 to get an appt today for me DS

hey sazz i'm no wife! but yeah, i'll take the "considerate" bit but mostly because DP is like a bear with a sore wotsit if he doesn't get enough sleep!

vg just reread yours... you had 2 hours of sleep on sat? good grief! you'll be giving sazzles "party animal" A a run for her money!

i know you're all on the edge of your seats to find out what's happened about my appt today... well in 20mins they managed to book all available appts for today But, appts have magically appeared for wednesday morning so i've now got one in the morning and then another one 6hrs later with the same doc.

vg its a bit of a saga! basically my doc will only discuss one ailment per appointment and you can only have one appointment booked at any one time. i have four things to sort out (mri results for knee, chase referral for piles, request for blood test for anaemia and after my smear the nurse said i should see doc). I was getting a bit wound up by it all last week and had a rant on here! felt like i was falling apart and the doctors were doing all they could to prevent me being put back together again. anyhow, i'm happy having two appts at least, she might be convinced to get two sorted per appt. we shall see!
your course sounds interesting.. how far into it are you?
