We were back in the childrens hospital yesterday for Rosie to have her cast changed, all went well, she was in theatre about an hour and now only has the plaster cast to her knees on both legs so getting her about is a little easier- she is so happy to have two legs again!!!!LOL

omy · 11/03/2010 20:25

How wonderful, I am so pleased for you Sarah. I hope Rosie is doing well too.

Leila is getting so cheeky and naughty. She has funny eating habits - tonight she refused the rice and sausages and ate a huge bowl of salad! with dressing! strange child!

snowflakesarahandco · 12/03/2010 10:17

omy we have the cheeky 2 yr old too!!!! lol-
Rosie is good but def keeps me on my toes, she should have 4 weeks left in cast but her doc is away on week 6 so its going to be 5 weeks till its removed and i must be honest i can't wait- getting very bored of it all now BUT SHE IS OK QUITE HAPPY and just getting on with things- she had the cast changed 2 weeks ago so now its only to her knees on both legs she is standing up and even climing the stairs!!!!lolnothing will hold my srong willed princess back!

princessllama · 17/03/2010 18:58

hi ferdie was two today. last of the bunch. thought i'd come back on here to catch up. congratulations jenny on the sixth. and congratulations on your little boy sarah. ferdie is so cheeky. it's as if someone told him he's officially a terrible two year old. we have had to get rid of he cot as he was getting out all the time. still not talking very well but it's coming. very giggly and very flirty and in to hugs.

Bessie123 · 22/03/2010 13:38

PrincessLlama you're back. I've been wondering how you are. So how are you?

Is your house finished yet?

Bessie123 · 13/04/2010 09:40

Hey, this is lame. Where are you all?

I know I've not exactly been a regular contributor but this thread's been going nearly a year and we've only got 492 posts.

snowflakesarahandco · 15/04/2010 10:26

i am very pleased to say DD came out of her cast yesterday its all looking pretty good, she is already back on her feet and toddling along.,

Ds was scanned and all fine with his hips so i am a very happy mummy!!!!!

Also DD left all her dummies at the hospital for the poorly babies and went to bed last night without even asking for one!!!! {proud emoticon}

the thread is just about dead dont u think bessie????should we start a new one and see if anyone comes back????

lljkk · 15/04/2010 21:00

Oh, I still lurk, but I feel embarrassed that I can't keep track of what's happening to whom -- new babies, etc.

But congrats on the cast coming off .

DS was supposed to have his 2 yr check yesterday, I will ask about speech therapy coz it's still (laughably) bad. But otherwise he's an angel and I feel very very grateful for that .

snowflakesarahandco · 17/04/2010 08:52

hey lljkk- glad to know your still lurking, hope all goes ok with Ds's check and you get some speech therapy for him- we have been lucky with our 2 so far, both real chater boxes- must get that from me

DD is walking again all be it with a slight limp due to the joint being stiff from being in the cast for 14 weeks, but she is getting there slowly! she has such determination and i am so proud with the way she has handled the last 4 months !

Bessie123 · 19/04/2010 10:37

Sarah, glad Rosie is doing well - it must be such a relief to know she has coped so well with it.

I think you may be right that the thread has died but I'm not sure that starting a new one will help. Perhaps it's worth a try, though, something with a v exciting-sounding title.

LLJKK - I guess it's just the 3 of us then...

snowflakesarahandco · 19/04/2010 12:27

get your thinking caps on then ladies we need to revive this thread!!!!!

lljkk · 27/04/2010 14:50

Hi Gals --
DH's brother and his partner visited last weekend. The partner is a paedatric neurologist.

It was reassuring to hear him say some very positive things about DS -- excellent communication skills in spite of limited formal speech, and good motor skills (eg., can jump independently with 2 feet). Mind, the Neurologist clinically sees mostly kids with lots of organic brain damage, but at least he is a trained relevant expert.

Anyway, I mention all that because tomorrow I take DS to HV for 2 year dev. review. Friend with son who is 2 days older than DS says that her DS (who had his review 2 weeks ago) is on list for speech review in 6 months -- and her DS says WAY more than mine. My DS only says about 12 words on a regular basis.

But... we shall see! I'll report back tomorrow or soon after.

snowflakesarahandco · 29/04/2010 07:49

how was your dev check lljkk?

lljkk · 29/04/2010 12:46

Hi -- thanks for asking!
Let's see now... 2nd percentile for height (82 cm).
9th %tile for weight (about 11.1 kg).
She said she had a worse talker in yesterday for 2 yr check (DS says 13 words regularly, but this other boy had only 10 words).

So he's on the list to review speech in 6 months.

My 10yo DS is driving me crazy today, I bought him some new skates and he's fussing about their fit in ways only he can!!

I did have something to mutter/rant about today on here, but I have forgotten (obv. not that important!)

bfn!
