even CS! Congrats on Grace Aunty Lardy

Hope your Sam is ok soon STW (I'm behind the times, you're still C-star to me!!) and Aaron's cold is better soon PT (btw I have alway wondered if he was an Air-ron or and arr-on??)

AF LBB?? You have my sympathies. I'm hoping to avoid one of those for several months yet

Must confess Sam still 'sleeps' (looses sense of the word you understand) on his tummy at night so has amazing push up/head control. No need for tummy time over here!

Well my little beast has been asleep since 8.45 so this is practically unheard of! I am dying to go to bed but am convinced he will be up the minute I do ....just watch this being the night he sleeps forever now i'm staying up

spottyshoes · 20/05/2009 23:18

Little quiz for you all....

Have posted a pic of a cardi of mine on my profile...what would you wear with it???!

PinkTulips · 20/05/2009 23:28

ahr-on

although my dad to be obtuse pronounces it the other way, just like he pronounces sarah as sara 'because that's how the name is pronounced in holland' [eye rolling emoticon] doesn't bother me much... as long as it's a recognised pronounciation i tend to leave people call them what they want... it's when people start inventing all sorts of interesting ways to pronounce caleb that i get tetchy (kay-leb btw.... the PHN keeps calling him 'sell-eb' and i have to resist the urge to punch her)

now, go to bed you daft woman! you'll regret it if you don't, even if he wakes in half an hour at least you'll have been comfy in bed for that long!

spottyshoes · 20/05/2009 23:34

Must admit to being a little at the PHN! How can Caleb be anything other than Caleb??

Just looked on my pics available to MN mates to see who was on there and it's a bit weird as I haven;t updated it since I 1st joined fab feb! Half of you aren't on there and there are some names I dont even recognise!!! lol

Well the bairne is up now so I guess I'll post again in a week or two
xxx

PinkTulips · 20/05/2009 23:39

speaking of head control... i am in doubt as to tummy time relavance, aaron hates being on his tummy mostly (occasionally tolerates it propped up against me but not really otherwise despite spending most of his week in scbu on his tummy) yet has fabulicious head control, all the HCP have oohed and aahed at his superb looking around nosily abilities he's now practicing sitting with just my hand resting lightly on his back for balance.... i love this stage as watching tham slowly topple to one side has got to be the funniest thing on the planet.... the look on his face is priceless every time

you have a gorgeous family btw

i'd go with skinny jeans and boots or ankle length slinky skirt depending on mood but i'm crap with clothing issues so don't take my advise

littleboyblue · 21/05/2009 01:48

This is my 2nd period since Luke was born. I hate them.
spotty that normally happens here. I don't go to bed because I think he'll wake, he doesn't, I finally go to bed late and the little minx'll wake the minute I drift off.
Love the cardi, very nice. I never know with things like that if I should pick something that mirrors the neckline or not.
Is it very dressy? I'd either go with a skirt, thick tights, knee boots or if that's too chunky, black skinny jeans and strappy sandels. I def wouldn't wear blue jeans. Again, fashion isn't my big thing either. When i buy something nice, I try to pick something that is part of a whole outfit on display so I don't have to think about it. The reason I love catalogues
PT I love the name Caleb. I suggested it for Luke, but dp felt it didn't 'go' with Jacob. Too many b's.
I also love watching them try to sit unaided. I have some great pics of ds1 mid-topple, classic.

I am now trying to get out of rocking him to sleep and sitting with Luke at bedtime. I now read his story, sing a song, then put him down awake and leave the room. He has sent himself off 3 nights in a row. Yay! ust go to crack it with ds1 now too. Dp thinks that as he's in there with him anyway, he should take the sides off the cot. I'm a bit unsure and unready for that, and don't really think ds1 is ready, but dp wants to give it a try so I told him fine, but he is in charge of that one after 7pm!

mumoverseas · 21/05/2009 05:07

morning all, not a bad night here, DH was 'on duty' with H so I slept through til 6am. Just as well as I was knackered after all my running around yesterday.

elkiedee, I'm in Crawley, near Gatwick so quite easy for me to get most places.

Am very excited about meet ups, any thoughts of next one?

congratulations auntie lardy, lovely name although I'm more than a little biased

spotty thats a lovely cardi, like PT says I'd wear with jeans (if of course I could get into any)
Was only able to see 2 photos on your profile (that and a field?) should there be more?
Must work out how to put photos on my profile, did ask DS months ago but he didn't get round to it.

Our weekend now which is good as no rushing around so can hopefully catch up with loads of stuff in the house. Have a suitcase out already to start packing

littleboyblue · 21/05/2009 07:34

Morning. Luke has another cold

mumoverseas · 21/05/2009 07:59

hi, DD has a terrible cough and is barking like a dog

spottyshoes · 21/05/2009 07:59

Oh poor luke. sending all poorly babies a ((squidgy hug))

DH has moved into the spare room on the days he works so I co-slept in a Kingsized bed and finally got a bit of kip

I'm a bit stuck on colours other than black to go with the cardi.......? Whenever I look at it I see it it reminds me of a witch - with black skirt, weird stripey tights and hobnailed boots

lardybump · 21/05/2009 08:47

DP has a nasty cold and caugh poor baby and this 12 week growth spurt is killing me... Up every hour last night feeding... His caught also sounds like a dog barking MOS and his breathing sounds like a cat purring.....

feeding time again in the lardy household so I am off. Will be back this afternoon as going to my mums for the dayl..

littleboyblue · 21/05/2009 08:49

MOS Poor dd. Awful isn't it. No cough here, Luke sounds like a pig. Look at us and our Farmyard babies!
spotty what color is the cardi? I did look at it, but can't tell what colour it is.......

mumoverseas · 21/05/2009 09:00

spotty, I feel so special

LBB, can't say DD sound like a pig as they are 'haram' (forbidden) here

thankfully DD has just dozed off on the sofa, DS is scoffing and I'm lying back watching ultimate force, yummy

mumoverseas · 21/05/2009 09:10

just looked on Coram fields website and it looks fab! I reckon I'd be able to cope with the two little darlings on the train to victoria and then get a cab there quite easily if there is another meet there

lardybump · 21/05/2009 09:16

I was going to ask about that what tube stations dont have lifts because I will be coming into victoria and then tube to where ever we meet.... But dont want to get stuck if tube has no lift as I will have the double buggy

littleboyblue · 21/05/2009 09:28

Last time we went to corum's field, I came into waterloo and got bus from there. Will be bringing the double this time, so will do that again.

spottyshoes · 21/05/2009 09:47

plummy/purple

mumoverseas · 21/05/2009 10:38

I'll have my double buggy which is why I'll get a cab. I don't do the tube too well (get a bit claustraphobic) so will have to get cab.
Where will you be coming from lardy?

mumoverseas · 21/05/2009 10:53

DD has just done a HUGE poo in her knickers.
In case you are wondering why I'm grinning its because I'm sitting with laptop and H on my lap and he is chomping away so I can't possibly get up and wash her/knickers/dress et. DH was sitting on sofa doing nothing so he has the pleasure of that task. Welcome to my world

littleboyblue · 21/05/2009 11:32

spotty Dunno. What about brown?
MOS

My phone's broken again. Arrggghhhhhhh. Off into town in a bit to buy a watch so at least I'll know what time it is when I'm out

Cocodrillo · 21/05/2009 12:26

Can't really get pissed at Coram's Fields though. Well, could try, but might be frowned upon.

Cocodrillo · 21/05/2009 12:37

possibly I have the wrong priorities here

spottyshoes · 21/05/2009 12:49

good timing mini MOS

PinkTulips · 21/05/2009 13:40

aaron is still suffering with his cold too and he's got conjuctivitis as well now

on the plus side dp gave us a big lie in and is being ridiculously overhelprful because he's pissing off down to his parents for the weekend and leaving me alone with the urchins

just spoke to dd's teacher and she's having her trial day in junior infants on the 9th of june.... eeek! she's getting all grown up!

broadband man is coming at 3 so we may actually have decent connection by this evening.... line of sight and other technical mumbo jumbo provided of course.

lord, i have tonnes to do today and i haven't moved my bum at all yet... and it's raining so the gardening is seeming pretty uninviting!

mos... pmsl, i love when that happens

how about ye have the meetup in manchester on the 26th of june... i'll happily ditch the wedding to come meet all of ye!

herbgarden · 21/05/2009 14:09

Morning all....
These poorly babies - the lurgies just go round and round don't they. We've got lots o chicken pox round here. Luckily DS has had it but DD obv. not - a friend we saw 2 weeks ago texted to say her daughter has just come out with it. I really hope DD doesn't get it as we're off on hols to Greece a week on Sat. - oh and I suppose it wouldn't be good for her would it

DD has a cold though but seems not to be too miserable with it. She seems to have got over her 3 nights of waking up and is now back to sleeping again. She does seem really hungry today though so maybe we're going through the 4 month growth spurt (do they ever end eh?!).

Nothing exciting happening here. Went to playgroup this morning to give DS a chance to run around and he took a bit of a liking to an 18month old little girl. It was very sweet (he's nearly 3) - he loves the girls.

PT - makes me all sentimental thinking of DS going off even to pre-school come September let alone school a year in September. I will be hopeless.

It's my 4th wedding anniversary today - hurray we survived thus far. DH arranged a lovely bunch of flowers which arrived just before I left this morning bless 'im. We're going out for lunch together on Sunday and the kids are off to Grannies (again - naughty mummy !).

I'm trying to be really good on the food front and have lost 4lbs. Another 4 - 5 to go. Want to not look hideous in even my swimsuit on holiday and my sis wedding is looming very near now (July) - I've got an appointment with the dressmaker in a week and a half so needed to make a bit of an effort.....god it's hard although I honestly find the longer I keep off the chocolate the less I want it - it's an addiction I suppose isn't it. No amount of weight though is going to get rid of this hideous jelly belly is it - I think I just have to live with it (and wear my lovely surgical type pants)

MOS I'm dreading packing for the four of us for a weeks holiday let alone a good few weeks. Presumably though you have washing facilities !!!.....

Right off out this afternoon - have a good one all and speak later !!....
