Hi girls, thought I would start a new thread as DD2 is one on Thursday .

Can you believe a whole year has passed already?

HM LOL at your little independent DS...I know what you mean. DD2 is v cute but also getting v independent. I do a mix of spoon feeding and finger feeding (I know not BLW as such). She is thankfully a very clean eater like her sister...it must be genetic!
I know people will slate me for this, but I really couldn't cope with all that mess. My days are demanding enough!

Joking aside, the latest version of Christopher Green's 'Toddler Taming' is brilliant.

Big news in the lucky household...DD2 took 3 steps on her own today!!! So she may well be proper walking before her birthday (you've got 2 days DD2....no pressure!)

Still no sign of chicken pox.....

ps sho we are on dd2's second pair of shoes already too, these feet grow so fast, i wouldnt mind but the shoes cost nearly as much as i would pay for some in my own size!!

Niknak21 · 24/07/2009 18:14

DS2 has appt for his balls to be anchored down on the 16th sept .

But friend's amnio test was fine, she having another girl, that'll make 3!

Our shoe shopping on Wed was fraught, he has really fat feet and wanted them off straight away......

luckymummy74 · 24/07/2009 19:52

FP my tip re shoes is to get them measured in Clarks then but their shoes second hand on ebay. Kids shoes at that age hardly have any wear and they only wear them a few weeks. I get nearly all my girls shoes like that. They do have some new pairs but I often get them second hand on ebay then sell them on again once I have finished with them.

I am a physio in the NHS and looking to do the same but in the private sector. Bit daunting, I have been at the same place for 13 years since I qualified but we have a new manager who is a bitch and I can't bear to work for her any longer.....(example, she tols a woman with breast cancer that she couldn't have time off to have her op as 'the service needed her'.....I know....shocking, and she gets away with it cos if anyone stands up to her she bullies them).

Just waiting for Denny and her brood to arrive for the weekend.

MM you sound like you are having a tough time at the mo with your family....poor thing. I hope things pick up when your sis has her baby....?

HM OMG!!! I can't believe you are about to have no 2!!!! You are one brave lady!! Keep us posted!! I hope all goes well.....

LM that is a really good idea, thank you for that! I am definitely going to do that!!
Have a fab weekend with Denny! And your manager sounds like a right twit...good luck with the job search!

NikNak - we have the opposite problem, both my girls feet are off the scale narrow...get that off their dad, poor things! So glad your friend had good news with amnio !

x

shonnomanom · 25/07/2009 01:14

NikNak thats great news about your friends amnio.

LM great idea about gettin the shoes on ebay. Its shocking that such a wee thing can cost as much as my size 7s! DD is in half sizes so it limits the shop choice.

HM hope everything goes well when the stork dekivers your precious wee girl

We'r off on holiday up north for a week tomorrow. Still not packed and dp needs to get a new tyre in the morning after I had a nasty puncture on a narrow country road yesterday

Hope everyone is happy and healthy

Sho x

Niknak21 · 25/07/2009 07:07

FP I can sympathise with your girls, I was A width and could never get the shoes I liked, it was clarks all the way for me and usually had to order them. I think it may have increased my shoe shopping addiction. I now have no problems buying them

sho enjoy your hols, we always pack last minute and have those little jobs to do!

We have sunshine here at the mo, hope it stays dry for the party....

Haribosmummy · 25/07/2009 22:15

LM - What a super idea about getting shoes off Ebay. I get loads of clothes for Haribo on there, but never considered shoes. Hope you are enjoying your weekend with Denny!

Sho - Have a lovely holiday.

Niknak - great news about your friend's results. Hoep the 'op' goes ok in September. It's probably more stressful for you to see your little babe having to go through it

FP - Hope you enjoyed your night out. DH and I went out last week (just to see Bruno, seriously strange film!!) as our new nanny is happy to babysit - but DH is back at work now so away Mon-Fri.

DS is also super cute at the mo. tonight is 10 days from his MMR jabs and he's been a bit crotchety today, but no temp, so fingers crossed. He is walking well now, talking (like your DD, FP - when he wants something!!!) and likes to express his frustration when he finds stair gates closed I have stair gates all round our house to stop him wandering from room to room and it's safe to say, he is NOT impressed to find them thwarting his new-found mobility! . He keeps trying to climb over them!!

DD due on Wednesday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so probably won't be on here for a while... See you all sometime in 2010!! hahaha!

Night all, HM x

fuzzypeach · 25/07/2009 22:55

HM - WEDNESDAY I cant believe that has come round so quick!!! How are you feeling??
We could do with a few more stair gates round our house to be honest as it's driving me crazy not being able to do simple things like take the washing out the machine when she is not strapped into a highchair, she is so quick she is off up the stairs before I have even blinked!
Great that you have been able to spend a night out with Dh before the LO arrives, you have not been able to spend any time alone with him for a long time have you, so its really good that you now have someoen reliable who you can trust to help out.

Sho - have a fab hol!!

monkeysmama · 26/07/2009 20:37

Very quick post from me just to wish HM lots of love & luck & strength for Wednesday. We'll all be thinking of you and little Haribo too. Take care and enjoy every second of it.

Love MM

Niknak21 · 27/07/2009 07:15

I second that. Good luck, and think of all the shopping you can do! x

fuzzypeach · 28/07/2009 20:41

HM - just a quick one to wish you the best of luck tomorrow, I bet you are so excited to meet your little lady!! Hope you have a wonderful birth and the little one is fine and dandy! xxxx

baiyu · 29/07/2009 00:06

Wow HM, here she comes! Can't wait to see pictures!

Sorry to have been off the radar for a bit, I had a massive deadline for a play last fri so that took all my energy and free moments. We've then been away having a lovely muddy festival weekend, DS is not impressed to be back to just me and no musicians, acrobats etc!

So much sad news reading back the last few pages, niknak so glad your friend is alright. Macaco I am so sorry for your cousins loss.

MM It's all been said but I am totally astounded by your sister! She is not deserving of all your love and consideration. Humph.

HM Sorry, have been totally useless, I do know the books you mean. I'll send you a FB message so you can order some if/when you ever have the time but I guess it won't be top of the list!!!

fuzzy Just seen your sleep angst, hope she's now sleeping peacefully.

Ah yes, other news, wedding day is set - 1st October. Need to get making invites, designed them this eve. It'll be a very low key relaxed affair on a serious budget but very excited! Wedding planning has been totally stress-free so far, hope this lasts!

Right, away to bed. thinking of you HM and nearly happy birthday Haribos baby sister!

luckymummy74 · 30/07/2009 22:08

Just to let you all know I got a text from HM and her DD arrived safely at 8:45am Weds am. No name yet. About 6lbs 5oz I think???

Had a good weekend with Denny including a big family picnic and then all the men babysat and the mummies went out for dinner! My poor DH got the raw deal as he had our kids and denny's 3 kids.....(7, 3 and 1) as Mr Denny (The original Denny!!) couldn't come for the weekend.

Felt a bit with DH today as he's going on my BIL to be's stag do tomorrow and they have to dress up....as wrestlers....he's going as 'Big Daddy' as he's the oldest and the only actual Daddy. He's known for months and for the last few weeks I have been reminding him he has to sort his costume out....and being a typical bloke he left it to TODAY to sort out (they leave at 6am tomorrow morning . So, our last day together before he goes off and we were trapsing around town for 3 hours looking for sparkly top hats and white shorts and union jack flags.........I was not amused. He did buy me some lovely sunflowers to say sorry.......

Cerys has her MMR tomorrow but she's full of (TMI alert) thick green snot....do you think they will still do it?

Got a friend coming tomorrow am whose little girl was my bridesmaid at the age of 4. They moved to Singapore for a few years and have just got back, her twins are 11 now!!! Can't wait to see them all grown up!! (plus, said friend owes me lots of babysitting from when they were little!!!!!)

My sis has moved in with us until the wedding which is just 4 weeks away. They completed on their house but don't wanna live together til they get married (ahhhh!) so she's with us for all of August which is lovely. Also, off to superbro's next week for a week. Having the lounge plastered while we are away....it's all go.....life just gets busier and busier!!!

Sorry for waffling, just nice to have time to write for a change!

Glad you all liked the shoes on ebay tip!!!

monkeysmama · 31/07/2009 09:44

Nice to have a long post from you LM and thanks for update on HM - she'll have to name change again.

Didn't want to say til HM had her LO but my sister's son was born last Sunday after a 46hr labour. He stopped breathing so's been in icu since birth but should be out today. She had a minor heartattack during labour but is ok now. I haven't seen her yet but pretty traumatic I think.

Off to Italy at 2am!? Can't wait.

Hope everyone's well - congrats to Baiyu on wedding plans & a big welcome to baby HM & well done.

MM

luckymummy74 · 31/07/2009 15:14

MM at your poor sister.....46 hr labour? No wonder her heart protested...poor thing, I hope they are both well soon.

Hi,

Just a quick post from me...

Imogen Grace was born on Wednesday .

we are home today and all doing well. Haribo taking it all in his stride and loving all the attention. Poor DH tired from running around after all of us!!!

Thanks LM for posting. Hope you enjoy having your sis to stay and also enjoy seeing SBro.

MM - Massive hugs to your sis and her LO. I hope they are both OK.

Baiyu - No problems! Hope the wedding plans are going well.

HI to everyone else. Probably won't be on here much for a little while, but I'll put some photos on FB soon.

Love, HM x

macaco · 01/08/2009 08:37

CONGRATULATIONS HM! What a lovely name! Hope you're feeling OK and not too tired.
xx

Mitchell81 · 01/08/2009 10:53

Congratulations Haribo and family. Imogen is such a beautiful name. She is gorgeous by the way. I am sure DS will make a wonderful big brother. Hope you are recovering alright after your CS, remember to take it easy the first few days as it makes the recovery quicker.

baiyu · 06/08/2009 00:31

Congrats HariboandImobosmummy!, more pictures please, she is beautiful! I want one of those!

MM How scary about your sister, hope she is better very soon.

LM We're not in Cheltenham yet, still in Edinburgh til security checks finished. Just hoping they don't want him to start in October because I'm planning to be on my honeymoon! I think we're going to Provence

Hope everyone is doing well.

Harimosmummy · 07/08/2009 08:52

Hey,

Just a really quickie.... Here's my new name (Geddit??? )

It's the best I could think of!!

HM x

luckymummy74 · 09/08/2009 10:26

Great name HM, I see what you did there!!

Where is everyone??

I'm at superbro's having a nice relaxing time, well, apart from DD2 being into everything ans wrecking the joint!! Ha ha!!

Went to the beach on Friday, managed 2 hours which I thought was good going with two little monkeys in tow....sand everywhere, nappy changetime was fun (at least she didn't do a poo!!) Both the girls went right in the sea (with DH). It wasn't relaxing as such but they had a good time.....

What has been lovely, not being at home and having all the housework, washing, etc to do once they are in bed, so once they are in bed we just sit on SB's balcony with a glass of wine until about 11pm. It's so nice.

Not a lot else to report....

Hope you are all OK, HM, how are you getting on with two?? Thinking of you lots,

LM xxx

Uh oh, DS just fell out his cot head first! Ok now but what a fright we both got. Do I need to get a bed guard now do you think and put him in a single bed?! Seems a bit wee for that and he's still not a great sleeper.
The sides of our cot don't budge - cheapy ikea one. Any ideas?

LM74 Sounds wonderful, enjoy!

monkeysmama · 10/08/2009 07:59

harimosmummy Big congratulations!! Lovely name. Hope you're enjoying every second of it. Baby girls are great

Just back from Italy so loads to do but will check in again later.

MM

luckymummy74 · 10/08/2009 13:10

baiyu DS seems a bit young for a single bed and if he can get over the top of the cot sides he would get over the top of a flimsy bed guard??

Is your cot at it's lowest level? Ours has 3 levels, really high for when they are newborn, then halfway down then just a few inches from the floor. I would be amazed if any one year old could get over the top of those rails, as when DD2 stands in the cot the top of the rail is neck level (unless you DS is a budding gymnast/contortionist??!!)

Not sure what else to suggest but I would say a bit young for a bed. What does everyone else think?
