It's called Mumsnet October 08 Babies, you'll need to request to join. It will show on your profile but you can delete the line if you want. There is a way to do a secret group but I don't know how to do it.

RachieW · 27/04/2009 18:49

Thanks HMM I'll go on and request now

Honeymoonmummy · 27/04/2009 18:53

Jenwa is the administrator so you'll have to wait for her to come online! It'll be nice to put a face to a name

Honeymoonmummy · 27/04/2009 18:55

Oh and she has done front to back once or twice but not every time.

RachieW · 27/04/2009 18:56

Yes for you too

Jojay · 27/04/2009 19:46

Hey Jenwa I've requested to join the fb group - so don't reject me!

CantSleepWontSleep · 27/04/2009 20:14

God I'm fed up of dd. Last night she only slept 9-5:30. She was in a horrible mood all morning. She went to school for the afternoon, fell asleep on the way home, and we left her for about 45 mins. She was still hysterical with tiredness when we got her up, and she claimed that she wanted to go to bed before ds because she was so tired. We made her wait anyway (because ds had had less than an hour of naps all day), but she still refused to go to sleep and created hell at bedtime. We think she might just have gone off now (dh left her a couple of mins ago allegedly to get the potty (she didn't need it, just wanted it up there) and said she was nearly off).
Amongst all this commotion with her, I've had to settle ds 3 times.
Aaaaaaarrrrrggggghhhh!

Where is everyone? Did my whinging scare you all off?

Honeymoonmummy · 27/04/2009 21:10

I'm here! Well I'm one-third here, one-third on the weaning topic and one-third watching the Hells Kitchen final. Multi-tasking eh?

I forgot to say earlier, sorry you're having such a hard time CSWS, altho it doesn't surprise me you have ulcers as it's a sign of stress!!

jenwa · 27/04/2009 21:13

I have added you Rachie

to you HM haha! I actaully just saw my post and there were rather afew grins there, must be my excitement with DH going away!

Actually HM I LOL just as was reading the threads and you saying that "jenwa is the administrator" then directly below "oh and she has done frot to back once or twice" I though then realised you were talking about Poppy not me haha!

csws what a nightmare. We have a reward chart for DD and it is ...touch wood...working like a dream. Its from ELC and is a magnetic one with different tasks. There is one on there for going to bed on time. She is so much better and I only have to tell her if she is naughty that I will remove a reward off her chart for bad behaviour and she does as she is told she gets to choose a treat at the end of the week when she gets a certain amount of rewards on there. She asked for playtime in the garden with "mummy and Daddy" and got it this weekend just gone and now has asked for a trip to the park next time so she gets a treat and we get a pleasant 3.5 yr not a stroppy 3.5 going on 15

rachie I have the chicco one too and its fab, DD seems fine in it anyway.

You're going to know sooooo much theory about weaning before Poppy tastes her first morsel HMM! I hope that the reality isn't a let down after all this planning. Have you decided what her first taste will be?

Jenwa - I don't think that a reward chart will work for dd, but maybe we could try more carrot and less stick, which is what we've been doing lately (threatening no scooter, no Dora, no boo-boo etc). Thanks.

Anyone watching BNTM btw?

CantSleepWontSleep · 27/04/2009 21:30

Sorry pistachio! Dd was more co-operative about bedtime before ds arrived, so as your dd doesn't have such issues with her sibling, maybe nursery will work for you.

Why stir fry not suitable? Ds has had stir fry (veggies, rice, prawns) a couple of times and been fine with it.

Awww Jenwa, that's so sweet re "playtime in the garden with mummy and daddy"! I just told it to DH too and he got a soppy grin on his face too. (we are speaking again BTW!!)

You know me CSWS, I have to research to the Nth degree before I do anything!! Do you know the answer re my question about allergy tests BTW? I will do baby rice on the first day then probably apple or pear puree on the second.

Honeymoonmummy · 27/04/2009 21:53

Oh and Jenwa, no rolling onto your back for you if DH going away!!!

Honeymoonmummy · 27/04/2009 21:53

Oh and Jenwa, no rolling onto your back for you if DH going away!!!

Honeymoonmummy · 27/04/2009 21:53

Doh!

jenwa · 27/04/2009 21:58

HM glad you are talking again, the joys of being with a man hey! Baby comes along and they suddenly dont get any attention, its like bringing up 3 children here not 2 !

Sorry I dont know about allergy tessting but I did baby rice for about 2 weeks (ish) just to get DD used to spoon and something different in her system but then she was 4 months, to be honest with the BLW they get something different all the time anyway.
Good luck with the weaning and have fun with it

RachieW · 27/04/2009 21:59

Jenwa- It's good to know you're still happy with the chicco highchair. Ds really wants to sit up but can't so being in it made him very happy. Thanks for adding me on fb too, will have a look in a mo

HMM- Totally missed the bit about Poppy rolling back. Clever girl! I really hope Jack finds out he can do it soon. I've spent weeks willing him to roll and now he can I spend my whole time flipping him back

Pistachio- After your earlier weaning post I gave him a bit of potato to try tonight, not blended. He seemed quite insulted and coughed a little bit.. I'll keep trying.

Ds went 7 hours today between bottles, he did have apple puree in between and some water but refused the milk. Will he be going 7 hours tonight between bottles?? I very much doubt it.

Honeymoonmummy · 27/04/2009 22:07

CSWS, have you seen this?

Honeymoonmummy · 27/04/2009 22:09
aubergenie · 27/04/2009 22:11

Just logging in quickly, as I really need to go to bed. DS only just gone to sleep ? his teeth are really playing him up, poor fella. I?ve given him some Calpol and I?m hoping that he might sleep for a while now as he was absolutely knackered.

I?ve been very make-do-and-mend this evening. I cut up our old shower curtain and hemmed the edges so that I?ve now got four washable mats to put under the high chair to catch all the food splodges.

Pepper ? I?d forgotten that your house had the pox a few weeks ago. Yes, it definitely sounds like they get it mildly at this age, so hopefully it won?t be too bad, if he does get it.

CSWS ? Sounds like your DD is hard work at the moment. Jenwa?s idea of a reward chart sounds like a good one. I LOVE that FB video of D eating his dinner. Does he eat 3 meals a day now? DS had hummus on toast for the first time today. Loved it. In fact since we started the BLW he hasn?t turned anything down.

Honeymoonmummy · 27/04/2009 22:14

Ooh Aubergenie that's a great idea re shower curtain!

CantSleepWontSleep · 27/04/2009 22:14

No hmm, unlikely to come up on allergy test. Intolerances rarely do.

Yes, seen the arsenic thing before. Think it's a lot of scaremongering about not a lot tbh.

CantSleepWontSleep · 27/04/2009 22:15

Yes, 3 meals a day aubergenie .
