Marthasmama · 13/04/2009 13:08

That's DHs feet not me Heather!

aubergenie · 13/04/2009 17:29

Hello again ladies. We're back from a lovely weekend in Leeds. I've only red the last page. Will catch up in a min. DS has been showered with attention and thoroughly enjoyed himself. He's still rejecting all solids since he was ill last week and consequently is very hungry for milk and feeding every two hours, for ages at a time, day and night. I'm constantly ravenous. I keep going all shaky if I haven?t eaten. DP?s mum gave ds a Thornton?s egg with his name on. She said maybe we could put it in the freezer until he?s old enough to eat it but it?s now sitting very comfortably in my tummy.

So sorry to hear about your Mum?s uncle, Heather.

Pepper ? I love those bunny ears!

Myjob ? I went to Butlins in Minehead with the school when I was about 11. Had a great time. Send it my love, won?t you. I hope N is better for your trip.

Anyway I'm off to catch up with the rest of your news.

aubergenie · 13/04/2009 17:38

Oh and a quick question about baby baths.

Ds was in one of these, but we can?t squeeze his ample bottom into it any more, so someone gave me one of these but he hates it. Although he?s pretty good at sitting now, he slipped down and got his shoulder wedged under the top part and it was really difficult to get him out and it?s also quite difficult to wash his bits.

What are other people using these days?

star6 · 13/04/2009 19:54

this aubergenie.
it folds away really small when not in use or can just put it on top of bath easily. It goes to toddler. Half of the bottom part comes up a bit for a baby who can't yet sit unaided... we've used it since birth and has always fully supported Q. he LOVES it!! Now we have it all flat (as shown in the photo on amazon in that weblink) and he sits in it. When he was learning to sit on his own, he would lean against the sides a bit. I can't rate this highly enough!!! BEST purchase we've made by far. Elimiates having to fill a whole bath full of water (waste) and perfect size for storage and for baby/toddler! You can also fill it as high or low as you want. LOVE IT!!

pepperrabbit · 13/04/2009 20:11

MM LOL! you'll be a noddy-no-mates...
We just dunk DD in the bath with the boys but thta's prob not much help - the photo wouldn't open for me on your link star - stupid computer.
Been gardening today and doing ridiculous amounts of laundry as it was sunny - I now have 2 rotary driers in my garden - it's like a little orchard of rotary driers, only we're growing pants and socks not fruit . Suspect the neighbours are worried things are so tight in the pepper household that I'm taking in washing! 10 days to new tumble drier.
DD has somehow dropped the equivalent of a bottle a day in the last week, at least 8oz less than she used to drink which means she's having max 24oz per 24 hours which I don't think is enough? Seems fine in herself but am tempted to try some apple puree or something (4 days early!)
She had 7oz@8am, 8oz@1pm, refused her 5pm bottle and 7oz just now. It's not enough??

CantSleepWontSleep · 13/04/2009 20:12

We recently started using this aubergenie. It's suitable once they can sit up unaided, which ds seems to have got much better at since he got better from his illness. He loves leaning forward and looking at the pictures of the ducks!

Marthasmama · 13/04/2009 20:14

We use this but it is quite expensive and difficult to control.

CantSleepWontSleep · 13/04/2009 20:18

lol lol lol - I wondered what that was going to be!

OP posts:
pepperrabbit · 13/04/2009 20:24

Doh - MM - I've got 2 of those - why didn't I think of that

jenwa · 13/04/2009 20:30

I was thinking about bath seats too. I have what you have aubergenie and also the next stage on but DD not sitting unaided yet although my friend never realised this when she sat her the other day and let go
Cant justify buying anything at mo as need to try her in the other one first. She is trying to launce herself out of the white seat and rolling, she splashes soooo much to, she loves bath time but we all get soaked!
I think I may be going in to hybernation as feel like I could eat and eat and eat, am thinking I am just due on though!

Have had a lovely weekend here and such a good day today, cleaning and chilling and even made a roast

jenwa · 13/04/2009 20:30

myjob DD1 is 4 in Oct

jenwa · 13/04/2009 20:42

Just read back on the old threads as could not remember my scan date but it was 9th April. Funny though as reading what we were saying then and myjob you had different name choices then and you were only having 2 children so no changing your mind now
Just makes me chuckle and also sad at all the people no longer on the threads!

Marthasmama · 13/04/2009 20:48

But I'm here now and I wasn't back then Jenwa. So it's not all bad !!! Is myjob changing her mind then? Must have missed that!

On that subject, I have added a new discussion to our FB group.

M is sitting up on her own a lot more and seems to understand the words 'milk' and 'food'.

star6 · 13/04/2009 20:58

Well, I still think my bath is the best . You can adjust it for unaided sitting or for totally newborn or anywhere in between. It's really worth it! AND it's easy to store away and take back out again and to clean!! I'm all for anything easy to clean
Hey, look at me! I'm the foldaway bath poster girl!

CantSleepWontSleep · 13/04/2009 21:08

Ah, but your bath no good when you have more than 1 dc who bathe together star .

OP posts:
CantSleepWontSleep · 13/04/2009 21:09

I don't even know how to get into my fb groups since they changed fb around.

OP posts:
Marthasmama · 13/04/2009 21:11

CSWS - At the bottom of the screen on the left, there is a bit that says applications and has some icons next to it. The one the with the blue heads is your groups list.

CantSleepWontSleep · 13/04/2009 21:13

Aha - can't believe I've never noticed that! Thank you.

OP posts:
star6 · 13/04/2009 21:18

Yeah, true CSWS! So my bath is only for those with a pfb and no others

aubergenie · 13/04/2009 21:35

Thanks for the bath suggestions. Yours sounds great Star, but MM'sis very cute .

Ekka · 13/04/2009 22:14

Wow, you've all been chatty! We went to my parents for the weekend, then on to visit some of our friends today. The weather was lovely, and we had a great time.

I hope Q is feeling better Star? CSWS, I'm glad to hear that D is a bit brighter.

Heather, really sorry to hear about your Mum's uncle.

We went to see some friends today, who have 2 boys. They were trying for another as she wanted a girl, but according to him they are 20+ weeks pg with another boy (they think). She didn't announce the pg, I think she is disappointed and also they are going through a rough patch at the moment, so things were a bit tense. But the news about the pg made me all broody again

Marthasmama · 13/04/2009 22:18

Oh Ekka, me too!!! I am surrounded by babies in RL at the moment and dd is so much fun that I just want another one. I'm sure when your friend holds her new baby boy she won't care that he's not a girl. I can't understand what has happened to me since dd was born. I'm a woman obsessed with babies!

Marthasmama · 13/04/2009 22:19

I forgot to add; Aubergenie - you can borrow my bath support anytime. I was thinking of putting it on eBay as it has been very irritating over the Easter break.

jenwa · 14/04/2009 08:22

Sorry, no I never meant myjob had cahnged her mind but she just said recently something about 'if' but it made me chuckle as there was a definate stop at 2 on ante natel thread

ekka Its sucuh a shame when people pregnant and trying for the other sex, I think it is hard as you always know it might not happen, all the boys will get on well together though. Would they keep trying for a girl??? Shame they having hard time too, that cant be easy. Also such a shame they not enjoying pregnancy

Well off to face anouther day, ... [whispers ] DD2 is still asleep and has been in bed since 6:30 pm tiptoes away.........
