We're normally a really healthy family too hmm, but I think that once you have a child at pre-school you find that they come home with every bug under the sun and spread them around.

Have a fab holiday. We'd be lost going away without a roof box since having dd. It's the first thing we've replaced from all the stuff that was lost in the fire!

Thanks CSWS. I'm still kicking myself about the teething powder. Didn't I say this would happen way back when I started, that I'd miss something? Gah!

Oh, and don't use teething powders if you are dairy free, as they are all in a lactose base!

Honeymoonmummy · 12/04/2009 20:50

Ah but to be fair CSWS that was before I even contemplated giving up dairy.

Poppy still eating. Why do they never have an early night when you want them to??

Honeymoonmummy · 12/04/2009 20:55

Right she's finished - 1hr 15 FFS!!!! I'm off to finish packing.

evening all!

lol at you talking to yourselves.
i've had a great weekend. i've been up at the allotment getting it ready for the season. my mini greenhouse and windowsills are groaning with seedlings. kennedy has loved it, we found worms and frogs that she has been fascinated by. going back up tomorrow to finish off digging beds and plant some spuds.

but i had some bad news, my mums uncle (who is like a dad to her) had a major stroke last week, he then had a second minor stroke a few days later. the drs scanned his brain and found a tumor on his pitutitary gland. he's been ok the last 2 days, but the family are really worried. i pray that he will be ok.

alex had a roast lamb dinner today! he sucked the lamb dry, and ate 3 roast spuds! greedy pig. he's 26 weeks on thursday so it's ok

jenwa · 12/04/2009 21:24

Hi all
I have been busy, 4 egg hunts this weekend, a social day and evening, my sister been here and had a day at inlaws today brunch and bbq so shattered. Hoping to be in garden tomorrow for a bit.

loulou DD1 seems to have stopped the night terrors DH thinks it may have been playgroup causing it as she had been upset about going recently and they stopped last weekend when playgroup stopped or it is just a coincidence . I know they say they can just stop so hoing htey do, willknow for sure when she goes back to playgroup if they happen again!!!

Welcome back firsttimer08 glad all ok

csws sorry DS been poorly, hope he is ok now. Did you make it back to worcester then?

heather sorry to hear about your mums uncle, how sad

HM hope you enjoy your holiday and it gets you to have a nice chill out time with DD and DH

When you say about giving babies rice crackers which ones do you mean? Baby ones? I cant find any!

pepperrabbit · 12/04/2009 21:51

evening all,
glad everyone seems to be enjoying Easter, and that your DS is finally a bit better CSWS - such a pity everyone else seems to get it as well though. March was like that for us, it really gets you down after a while.
We've been busy too, it was DS2's 3rd birthday yesterday! can't believe he's so grown up! All he wanted was Power Rangers bless him - he's never even seen it, just thinks it's "cool" I bought him a Power Ranger poster and it's up next to his Noddy poster. It's like viewing a step change in your child growing up, in just one wall .
DD is very perky... she rolled over yesterday! I missed it of course - came back in the room and she was stuck on her tummy - which is odd as she's been able to roll, tummy to back for ages . So that's a whole new world of excitement. Bet DS2 won't think she's so cute when she eats his new Power Ranger.....Not that I'm going to let her eat anything till next Friday when she's 26 weeks!

Pistachio - I was just admiring your photos on fb, you all looked lovely! And such a fantastic day - it's rained here most of the weekend and been miserable/grey if not actually raining.

I'm being a golf widow tonight - DH glued to Masters - not really stalking everyone of MN & FB!

pepperrabbit · 12/04/2009 22:46

I've added a whole 2 photos to my profile - I know it was cruel to put DD in bunny ears, but I couldn't help myself....

ronshar · 12/04/2009 22:55

Heather that is sad news. I hope your mums uncle isnt too uncomfortable.

Organix have a few different finger foods. All very handy. Ella's Kitchen pouches are fab. Perfect size and not too messy

Wow to all the digging and vegetable growing. I would love to be that organised, but mostly too idle

Hmm, have a fabulous holiday. Hope it stops raining.

CSWS, you need to set up a decontamination unit at your front door, get rid of the nasty pre-school germs.

Am I the winner??? DD1 is 10 in Novemeber

ronshar · 12/04/2009 22:58

Pepper your babies are so beautiful. Loving the ears.
Is it school for your eldest in September?? My DD2 starts then. Not sure if I am ready for it yet!

heather1980 · 12/04/2009 23:29

dd starts preschool in sept as well. she's 3 in october. it's awful, i don't want her to go
dh and i talked about having another baby today. he wants to start trying later this year, i want to wait till alex is 2 so that when the baby comes he'll be ready for preschool. it was awful being sick and then fat when dd was so young, i feel that i missed out on quite a lot.

alex doesn't do so well eating baby rice cakes, i think the rice puffs are too small and they get stick in his throat, he eats adult ones snapped in half much better.

Marthasmama · 12/04/2009 23:46

Wow chat chat chat you lot!! I'm not going to be able to reply to you all.

Ronshar - I thought I had the oldest baby, but my ds is only 6 in July so yes, you do win. You must have been a mere child when you had her. We have some Ella's kitchen and Plum purees as a quick option if we really need them. M is obsessed with rice cakes. She had two yesterday, eating about half of each. When they'd gone she started banging her tray and shouting!

CSWS - I listened to you re: the teething powders because I remember thinking 'there's not warning on Ashton & Parsons powders'. And I told my friend who's dd is allergic to dairy to stop using them as they had lactose in them. DO I win a prize?

Pepper - DS is exactly the same with liking Power Rangers but having never seen an episode. He went on and on about Ben 10 but he only watches telly at the weekend and normally only a film so for ages hadn't watched it. Then we felt bad that we were making him really uncool so we let him watch it.

Hmm - Aw bless you re: the powders. There's always something isn't there? When I was giving up wheat after I had been wheat-free for about two weeks I thought, I know I can have Bran Flakes for breaskfast. So I had a bowl and got so bloated and ill. I didn't twig for a couple of days that bran flakes are wheat bran ! Ashton and Parsons don't really have a warning on them that they contain lactose which I think it pretty bad. Have a lovely holiday and hope you can get on MN while you're away.

Heather - Sorry to hear about your mum's uncle. Hope he's comfortable and not suffering.

Myjob - M's eyes tend to get gunky when she is snotty too. Yuck! She probably has poked her eye. Poor N.

M had some duck today. She loved it! She also had a fair bit of carrot. I was always planning to BLW but she isn't giving us a choice as she has been trying to feed herself when we do give her a little bit of puree. She has been able to roll for a little while now, but seems to really hate being on her front so she puts her legs out to steady herself! She has terrible eczema on her leg at the mo. Has anyone tried Aveeno? I've heard it's good.

Marthasmama · 12/04/2009 23:49

Heather - it must be the day for talking about number three!!! We were chatting about when we want to think about having another one (if we can etc). We're thinking in about 12/15 months. But there are three conditions, 1) I need to be at a good weight. I've been heavier than normal both times I've got pg before which hasn't helped my cause when putting on weight! 2) I need to learn to drive and 3) we're going to see how much of a nightmare dd is before we finally decide.

heather1980 · 12/04/2009 23:51

i use aveeno on me as i have dry skin. it's the best one that i've tried so far and i've had a few over the years.
it's about £6-7 a tube though so not cheap.

Marthasmama · 13/04/2009 00:10

I might try some on the eczema then. Diprobase doesn;t seem to work and I don't want to use steriod cream. SO I need something to sort it out before it gets too bad.

Marthasmama · 13/04/2009 00:16

Oh I see. I come to shat and you all go away!

Marthasmama · 13/04/2009 08:11

Ooops! I meant chat! No wonder you ran away!
