Pepper - I don't know how I'm still awake. I'm knackered too.

DH has put some Queen thing on. Freddie was amazing wasn't he? I'm not a big Queen fan but you've gotta love Freddie. He had an amazing voice.

ronshar · 03/04/2009 22:16

I meant Pepper not Purple

CSWS we didnt mean to upset you. Can I offer a Netmum style hug in an awkward southern england pat on the shoulder as a form of apology

Marthasmama · 03/04/2009 22:17

Is it a Southern thing then Ronshar? Are they all huggy up North?

ronshar · 03/04/2009 22:20

Not sure I dont get to go up north very often.

Marthasmama · 03/04/2009 22:21

I don't either. I hardly ever go to Watford.

MamaG · 03/04/2009 22:23

lololol at op

cough cord wrapped 4 times around neck. And hte emCS was under a general

MamaG · 03/04/2009 22:25

What news have I...

um - he's had a cough and a cold and gunky eyes
He's got dry skin so has diprobase and the bath stuff
He's VERY interested in food, so starting to consider weaning (but he's 21 weeks so wobbling a bit)
Was 24lb 5oz on Thursday ()

Marthasmama · 03/04/2009 22:30

Baby G is a BIG boy. Nice work Mama G's norks! My friend's baby was 24lbs at 18 weeks but she is FF. She was 5oz heavier than M when she was born and at 18 weeks was 9lbs heavier! Bless her.

ronshar · 03/04/2009 22:32

I am amazed that you have not had to feed him before MamaG. 24 pounds. Thats fantastic.
You are def the winner for dramatic birth story

Off to bed i have a feeling it is going to be a long one

CantSleepWontSleep · 03/04/2009 22:34

You should go to Watford more often mm. I can do meet ups there. Then I could poke you in the eye in person .

Right, ds stirring and wine all gone so time to bid you all goodnight.

OP posts:
CantSleepWontSleep · 03/04/2009 22:35

I should take ds to be weighed some time soonish I suppose, just for interest, as it's been months I think. Clinic is 2nd and 4th Tues of month, so someone remind me then.

OP posts:
CantSleepWontSleep · 03/04/2009 22:36

Ah won't be around for next one, so remind me on (or just before) 28th.

MamaG - 24lb 5oz!!! Can we have some of those spare lbs over here? Just posted some photos of Matthew on facebook, he does look skinny at the moment poor lad, compared to the chubby pics we have of him in earlier photos...

I can really sympathise on the dry skin... Just make sure you slap on loads of diprobase as often as you can to stop it getting any worse, because eczema's no fun for them. Matthew's skin was really improving with all the steroid creams, but last night his nappy leaked all up his back and it his back is all red, lumpy and itchy so he's been a bit grumpy again today. But the rest of his body is feeling much nicer! He's still asleep though (went to bed at 7.30), so I should maybe go to bed as well to make the most of it

Night all!

Marthasmama · 03/04/2009 22:42

Hey! I'm definately not going oop North to Watford if you're going to poke me in the eye. Wahhhh!

I'm going up now too. Nighty night ladies.

Oh God I nearly put a kiss! I did show DH Netmums and he asked is it Mumsnet for chavs? Hee hee! (Disclaimer -chav is not an insult. Many people are of the opinion that chav is a hideous insult but as someone from the area in which chavs were birthed, I can tell you it is only like calling someone a goth or a grunger. I however, would lamp anyone who called me a chav as clearly I am not. Oh and one of my good friends is on Netmums.)

Marthasmama · 03/04/2009 22:47

Awww Ekka - Just had a look on FB. He looks very happy. His eczema doesn't look too bad on his face bless him, which is a relief for you I expect. It's too easy for them to scratch their faces. Has he invented a way to scratch his legs if they're bad? DS had a scratching dance, he thought he was SO clever...

CherryChoc · 03/04/2009 22:50

Hi all - I slipped off the last thread a bit. Must try harder!

My news - even though Ryan isn't 6 months until Sunday we started doing BLW about 2 weeks ago when he grabbed my toast and sucked it, and I found seed husks in his nappy the next day I decided it was pointless to wait any longer. He seems to be swallowing much more this week. Favourite foods so far are banana, toast and I gave him a little strip of steak tonight which he absolutely gummed to death - it was weird, who would have thought a toothless 6 month old baby could eat steak?? DP took lots of photos! Also he has really started laughing in the last few days, which is nice - I've been waiting for that laughter for months

Does anyone else's LO find pets entertaining? We have got a kitten and every time he comes into the room Ryan squeals with joy and he seems to cheer him up when he is upset as well. Luckily the kitten doesn't mind being manhandled!!

heather1980 · 03/04/2009 22:55

evening all.
i had a call from the hv today re my dd 24 month check up, she had it in jan but they didn't update her records so they called her back again and i forgot. the hv called. i got a lecture from her about not taking alex to clinic, dd still having a bottle at bedtime and 'advice' about fussy eating. stupid woman as if i don't know not to give her crisps instead of dinner!

alex had a rice cake with hummous today and wolfed the thing down, it was very messy but fun. he's still not sleeping arggg, just one night that's all i ask!

lol marthasmama! i don't think we're huggy up north! more shake hands kind of people, unless we're drunk then we profess undying love to all and sundry

Marthasmama · 03/04/2009 22:58

Hello heather - I laughed at your comment on the EE thread earlier. Must go to bed now. My eyes hurt!

MamaG · 03/04/2009 23:07

Ekka my DS1 was (and is!) a skinny. Looking back at his baby pics its shocking to compare him to DS2!

DS1 is just a thin boy, full of energy and fun, but thin

I'm blathering on the diprobase at every nappy change(!) as HV told me it can ward of eczema developing - is she right?

jenwa · 03/04/2009 23:20

Hi
Just a quick post to say I am here you have all been chatty. I have been watching a wierd film.

not heard of netmums and got all confussed when trying to read this thread. So going to bed now as tired and will see you all tomorrow maybe! Thought Mama G was annoucing another birth then and realised she was talking about her info on stats!!!

need sleep so night all

heather1980 · 03/04/2009 23:29

lol, mm comic timing!

shhh i sometimes use netmums but NEVER the forums, i use it to look for days out and stuff for dd, it's quite good for that i think.

star6 · 04/04/2009 07:47

omg that took me 40 minutes to catch up on last thread and this one! Now don't have time to write much! I use netmums for nearly new listings in my area. Beats the NCT sale hands down.
I'm still rofl about pepper's trip to asda... as we've had a similar experience I do online shop from sainsburys, though... Grocery stores (other than waitrose, of course ) are always full of all sorts of interesting things... and people...

MamaG, I just looked in dd's red book and she was 24lb when she was 18 months old

The diprobase keeps the skin moisturised and is supposed to help it getting worse, we use it every nappy change as well, unfortunately we also have to use steroid creams to try and control the flare up he seems to be having...

MM, his face wasn't too bad, and in fact his skin was all doing better, but yesterday I wore a jumper which had viscose/nylon mix and where his face & head touched it is red and itchy . I think it must be related to the jumper as I can't think of anything else that would just have set off those areas (the rest of him is fine). Typical as we have a photo session on Monday for him! He does scratch his legs every nappy change - its quite tricky getting clean nappies on him before his legs are covered in scratches....

Lovely weather today, we're going out in the garden so i'd better be on sun cream duty as dh will never remember

loulou33 · 04/04/2009 15:13

you've all been really chatty and i realised i haven't posted for a week. Joe is stil having problems pooing depsite the gp giving him glycerin suppositories . Cue dh and i creased with laughter trying to work out how to stick it up his bum as its just a piece of jelly really (kept wobbling all over the place) Joe just lay there cooing and laughing. he did poo several times after and we thought it was all better but he's bunged up again today. Off to see paed on weds so i will mention it to him. Also now giving Joe dairy and so far the sickness has not got worse. I think i may now be allowed to eat cheese again .

Joe still loving his food but not so keen on bfing particularly at bedtime where we end up fighting - me trying to get him to suck and him trying to crane his head around to look at stuff - grrrrr. BF necklace no longer interests him and i fear my supply is dwindling along with his interest....he has a few minutes feed in the morning, mid-afternoon and bedtime but i don't think he's taking enough milk really, hence why i have added dairy to his diet.
