IMO most insurance companies are dodgy! I have to confess to being "qualified" to see home and car insurance, I did my exams on my birthday when I worked for a certain company (I only wanted a bloody admin job but they made me learn to do quotes and stuff). It is not an experience I will EVER repeat.

Norty, have a bloody big piece of virtual chocolate!

My lovely DS2 (has been home for lunch today, that was the deal for him going to school) told me "you're not that fat mummy, it's just these bits"
and he was telling me about his teachers lunch, so I askedif he had been eavesdropping. He said "no, but they were talking, and I couldn't cober me ears could I?" sometimes I nearly like them!

we had to have a picnic on a blanket in the living room to get baggins to eat lunch. had better get hoovering

Thank-you for the tea and cake ladies . Since my last post DS has had two more outfits on (and has been sick down the one he is currently wearing but as he's not crying, he can stay in it for a while and I slung 5mls calpol down DDs clean top .....I have a huge 4 sided rotary line and its full and I've already got enough for another load, despite doing 2 this morning.

Glad you're feeling better Daisy...must be good ABs....DD dressed yet?

Blimey, looks like we all having troublesome toddlers.....not getting dressed, paddling in shit, picnics to encourage eating....bloody hell!!

Two questions for you all

Do you fib at the chemist to get Medised / Calpol night and still give it to your LOs or do you obey the rules and not give it any more?

Which is best for online slimming - slimming world or weightwatchers?

HellHathNoFury · 01/04/2009 13:33

I lie to get meds.

SW and WW both work, it's just what plan suits you most - ie I hated SW but some people hate WW.

WW online is cheaper from memory.

LackaDAISYcal · 01/04/2009 13:40

She was Norty. I said we were going in the garden so she needed to get dressed....boy did she move quickly to get her clothes on

But, we are back in now and she is currently running around in the nude....except for her froggy wellies

disposable paper clothes Norty...that's what you need

so it is 6 then? I have it in my cupboard with the old dosing on, and would still give it. Don't quite know how I'll manage when all the packaging is changed to 6+ . One of the ladies in our local chemist doesn't even ask TBH, but she has 8 GCs. When I bought the last lot of medised it was for baggins and DS2, who was 5 then so it was still OK.

sorry, what a lot of waffle. I am being very vague and befuddled today

Re diets - I HATE them all! SW is good cos if you go to 1 meeting and get all your books, then register for the website, you can join the SW thread on here and get the password, so getting the benefit of the website without having to go to every meeting. It is good for the unlimited food stuff too, and at first glance the new plan looks good for meals but not for snacking. WW is good cos I'm a lazy arse when it comes to food, but I never properly joined so haven't used the website. I am doing Rosemary Conley GI Jeans (again) as needed a break from SW. I am currently surviving day 2 of the starvation and no booze kick start plan.

FrazzledFairyFay · 01/04/2009 14:06

and Norty, that does not sound like fun. I hope things get better soon.

I don't lie for Medised, in that I say I'm buying it for DD, who's 3.6. I do mostly use it for her but do occasionally give it to DS, if needed. I was giving it to him occasionally before it was banned so I can't see why I shouldn't continue. I don't give it to him very often though - only if he's very congested, etc. Nurofen always seems to work better for him than paracetamol.

Riallytoofattoflounce · 01/04/2009 14:06

I used to calorie count when DS1 was little, but I suppose then I had all day to add up what I was eating and work out how to allow for a sneaky something

baggins is in the garden - I will have to find an outside job to avoid the coming in tantrum. Am going to clean my hauck and reassemble, ready for ordering the part to mend it.

FrazzledFairyFay · 01/04/2009 14:06

Is it 6 for medised now? I thought it was 3

FrazzledFairyFay · 01/04/2009 14:07

Just checked the website, and it's age 2+

Ohforfoxsake · 01/04/2009 14:15

WW for me. SW 'you can eat as much pasta as you like' is bollocks to me. I don't want pasta. I want chocolate and cake.

Go on Fury, FB me the link then! Go on, go on, go on

Ohforfoxsake · 01/04/2009 14:21

I just googled fury by her old name (still didn't find your blog though!) and it turned up an old thread for July 07. Ahhh, seems like such a long time ago.

Odd to think than anyone could read it though. I always forget how public this is!

LackaDAISYcal · 01/04/2009 14:37

they have changed it again fairy....there are loads of threads on it on here.

apparently any cold remedy with either a cough suppressant, or antihistamine or expectorant in are being changed to 6+. More to do with them not being proved effective than unsafe. Anything off the shelf at the minute will still say 2+ as they don't have to recall current stock, but new stock will say 6+. I'll still give it to my under twos though if I think they need a good night's sleep to help them get over a cold.

I'll try and find a link

one of the more recent threads. There are links to the latest news about it.

Thanks Daisy. It is very confusing when teh website still says for the over 2's, and there's just a very small statement about change in guidelines

FrazzledFairyFay · 01/04/2009 14:53

Tbh, I think I'll still give it as well, when needed.

LittleMissNorty · 01/04/2009 15:55

I'm not a very good liar....think I'll send DH to chemist....no-one asked me about the efficacy of medised when they done their research saying it wasn't effective. I think its bloody marvellous at drying up a very runny nose and allowing the said child to sleep. I have only ever used it in these circumstances for one or two nights until she starts to improve. Can't see a problem with that.

Its a bit naughty the packaging still says 3+ months....the pharmacist got really shitty with me....

LackaDAISYcal · 01/04/2009 16:21

I tried to buy some daktarin active at the chemist for bumble's nappy thrush and my nipples and they wouldn't sell me it because those conditions weren't listed on the information leaflet . I told them I had a prescription that had run out and I was just replacing it myself rather than going back to the doctors and they still wouldn't sell me it and told me that I must have been mistaken and they had never heard of it used on nipples or bums. I appreciate that they need to make sure that they are selling the right drug for the right problem from an insurance point of view, but FGS is it too much to ask that they give me the credit with being intelligent enough to know what medicine my doctor had prescribed and also that they have the grace to accept that they don't know everything

lol I'm a bit ranty today.

Any news from Natty?

I'm bored, and tired of the "shide" tantrum (baggins asking to go outside) Doesn't look like DH will be home til bedtome (mine, not the kids). suppose I can go to bed early so I don't eat anything!

LackaDAISYcal · 01/04/2009 16:25

oh, and norty, the pharmacist probaby got shirty with you as they are selling old stock if it still says 3mo+ on the box!!! When it was changed to 2+ years last February they were meant to clear all the 3mo+ stuff off the shelves. The bottles I've bought since then have definately said 2 years plus.

LittleMissNorty · 01/04/2009 16:33

Interesting....I shall just lie - or get DH to - I think....bloody nightmare!

Ria - have a look at the pic on my profile - its a crap pic cos it was taken through the windscreen in my car on my phone (and car is filthy)....but there I was parked up yesterday to go to the osteopath and there was a B&B which made me think of you , so much so that I took a pic .....couldn't stand in the street to take a decent pic, everyone would have thought I was a nutter!!

LittleMissNorty · 01/04/2009 16:33

not very big - will try a bigger one!

LittleMissNorty · 01/04/2009 16:35

Still crap! Oh well, put a new one up of DS while I was there!

LackaDAISYcal · 01/04/2009 17:10
