Daisy,
I have had blood poisoning, I can't believe I didn't spot the similarity - you poor thing!

Sky+ will help

ooh my blog has been hit on, a company accusing me of being defamatory, I have gone from 10-20 hits a day to almost 100, hahahahahahahahaha

HellHathNoFury · 31/03/2009 20:07

natty I have had nose bleeds all throughout this PG, unless they are big gushing ones it's nothing to worry about

LackaDAISYcal · 31/03/2009 20:22

could be iron levels natty, or low blood pressure. I'd call the MW just to reassure yourself.

ah well fury, you are still here so I'll try not to wory too much

LackaDAISYcal · 31/03/2009 20:23

OP posts:
TheNatty · 31/03/2009 20:25

i was thinking maybe iron. got my scan tomorrow, so will get them to check my blood pressure while im there.

wish me luck i am cacking myself

HellHathNoFury · 31/03/2009 20:27

Daisy I was only a kid, I got septacemia (spelling). I nearly died from it but there were other complications as well, so not straightforward. I was only about 4 and have a very vague memory but yes still here! I developed raynauds phenomenon as a result though, very weird.

DH however got it while I was PG with DS, he got very sick, we were in and out of hospital every couple of days, he was wretched.
Yes you will be ok but YOU MUST LOOK AFTER YOURSELF as it can be very dangerous otherwise!

HellHathNoFury · 31/03/2009 20:28

good luck Natty, sure it will be fine and hope your water levels are normal

LackaDAISYcal · 31/03/2009 20:48

tell that to my waking three times in the night DS2, my feisty DD (who actually said No and stuck her fingers in her ears earlier when I asked was she listening to me and who told her big brother that she was going to "kick him in the privates" ) and my quick to temper DS1 who is fast turning into the most objectionable child in the world.

Oh and a DH who thinks it's just a bit of flu and that I'm being a bit meoldramatic.

I remember your DH being ill. and ouch at you as a kid, that must have been really scary for your parents.

OP posts:
LackaDAISYcal · 31/03/2009 20:49

Oh natty good luck for tomorrow. Fingers crossed all is well and it was just a wee blip.

HellHathNoFury · 31/03/2009 20:51

Yes I don't remember it very well but I do remember the dr telling mum and dad to 'prepare themselves'. I was off school for 4 months. I remember laying on the couch watching all these sad faced relatives and neighbours staring at me, and I remember wondering why did they all look so morbid?!

But I'm still here!

Your DD sounds like a feisty little sod. If her and DS got together it would be like War of the Worlds.

LackaDAISYcal · 31/03/2009 21:04

she is fury.....we call her hurricane baby. I had hoped for a nice girly girl who would let me dress her in lovely clothes and put slides and bobbles in her hair. Fat chance. she lives in jeans these days (bring out a skirt and all she says is "no like it") and a scruffy blue t-shirt that used to be her big brothers and likes the look of slides but screams if they come anywhere near her. She took two action men to the GPs this afternoon

I blame the utter reverance in which she holds DS1!!

OP posts:
HellHathNoFury · 31/03/2009 21:10

DS climbs and stands on his car, uses like a scooter, waits til he has some speed then leaps off shouting 'boing'. He has no fear.

We think he is going to be a stunt man.

LackaDAISYcal · 31/03/2009 21:22

she isn't quite that gung ho....but we rigged up a rope swing for DS1 so he didn't feel left out of things with the toddler swing I got on sunday and she'd rather play on that.

how she hasn't broken anything or taken her teeth out yet I don't know.

right I'm off to sleep this damned fug off. My head feels very fuzzy and confused; like a hangover.

OP posts:
Riallytoofattoflounce · 31/03/2009 21:23

my DS1 obviously got your DDs femininity He had started a liquorice torpedo racket at school, but I think he is feeling guilty at the 5p he added on for himself (delivery charge) LOL at war of the worlds.

Poor DS2 is poorly, his teacher even said he'd been "quiet" today, which must be bad. I will have to try and get him to school tomorrow though or people will think I can't get him there when DH isn't here.

Good luck natty.

Riallytoofattoflounce · 31/03/2009 21:25

baggins got stuck on the high windowsill today, he had climbed up the armchair and on to the sill to shout "bye bye miaow" to the cat.

LittleMissNorty · 01/04/2009 09:53

I think I want to go back to work.....

DD has a cold and can't go to nursery today (so I'm spending £40 to look after her myself ) and I've had to cancel DSs HV check and first set of jabs (and our afternoon trip out)....nurse not trained to do jabs, so when I asked to make another appointment for him I'm told.....errr we'll let you know when he can come in so who knows when and if my child will get his vaccinations!

so there I was changing two beds....one with snot all over it and one with puke all over it......so I came downstairs cos the pukey one was screaming having puked all over his nice clean outfit (having already had a bath at 7am cos he'd puked and pooed all over his bed!) and was soaking again.....to be handed a nappy by the snotty one (who'd had her trousers taken off because she dropped weetabix all over them), when I realised, the nappy - and her legs, arms, hands and bum, were full of shit. (she had previously been constipated and hadn't done one for 48 hours!) So began a cleaning operation without getting it everywhere - while snot was dripping down her face. Meanwhile the other one was screaming and screaming because he's puked again. Finally took a naked DD upstairs and put her in her 2nd outfit of the day, and changed DS into his third!! Also need to change my bed and DS puked over my pillow cases but I just turned them over and went back to sleep .

I now have enough washing to sink a ship!

Good fun this mothering lark.....

Sorry....needed that rant...what a fucking day and its not even 10am!!

Daisy....hope you're feeling better x

Ria...hope your lot are feeling better too x

Natty - good luck x

LackaDAISYcal · 01/04/2009 10:09

Oh Norty....

OP posts:
Ohforfoxsake · 01/04/2009 10:18

Can't believe you got this far with 3 kids and no Sky+ Daisy

Good luck today Natty, my fingers are firmly crossed for you

That's shite Norty, but tis the way it is. That's the payback for those moments of unconditional love when their little faces light up when we walk into the room.

You know when I mean, when they are between 42 and 43 weeks old.

LackaDAISYcal · 01/04/2009 10:59

We wanted to upgrade to the Virgin equivalent but they were going to charge us £150

Sky have installed everything, including new phone line as we don't have a BT line in the house at all, and are giving us a £20 monthly saving....all for £80.

And I fecking hate the lack of customer loyalty in this bloody country. I got my car insurance renewal through..£350 . So went onto gocompare and one of the quotes was for £285, with added no claims pretoection...WITH MY OWN FECKING INSURER . Called them up (and spoke to someone in the customer loyalty department ) and got it reduced to £300 as I reduced the policy excess that the computer threw up. But FFS . If I hadn't bothered to question it....they slope off with £50 extra....and think about all the other customers who might just renew without querying it; that's a lot of 50 pounds. Makes me mad. If they can do it for £300 why are they charging me £350. Really I should have changed to someone else on principal, but couldn't be arsed.
oops rant over.

Ohforfoxsake · 01/04/2009 11:02

I know, its shocking. I've just got my mobile down to £20 a month and a new handset by phoning up my provider and telling them I'm leaving. I'm going to call Sky too and tell them I'm going to downgrade and see what they offer.

There is no value on customer loyalty, you have to threaten them with leaving before they do anything for you.

LittleMissNorty · 01/04/2009 11:08

I don't know how you managed without Sky+ either Daisy.....we don't watch anything live....it can take all evening to watch an episode of Eastenders sometimes .....on the odd occasion when we do watch something live, we're there trying to fast forward through all the crap...

Customer service is dreadful as well these days....Sky are particularly useless and also have a fair amount of discretion....when I moaned at their £65 repair fee when my box had just gone out of warranty (I think I said something like, do you make these boxes to only last 12 months then - its happened 3 times to me!!), they waived the fee when I questioned that it was a real money-spinner! I also get 4 of the film channels (we only subscribe to sport, not movies) for £1 a month!

Kids both asleep and I need to move away from the computer!!

HellHathNoFury · 01/04/2009 11:10

as long as you never use M&S or HSBC it'll be fine

Ohforfoxsake · 01/04/2009 11:11

oooh, now I'm going to say "I know someone who gets 4 film channels for £1, can I have the same deal?" when I call Thanks Norty

Bet you never have time to watch anything on them though!

Ohforfoxsake · 01/04/2009 11:12

go on, Fury, link your blog again!

HellHathNoFury · 01/04/2009 12:32

Hey Foxy

My dealings were not with M&S or HSBC. I am not going to link my blog on here as it can be traced back to me and I'd rather maintain a small degree of anon

I have been dealing with a small advetising company and published some of the correspondance. Has caused some minor uproar with the company in question but we have been emailing and it's all calmed down now.

I would not recommend using M&S or HSBC car insurance as they charge you to wipe your own arse. AFTER you have taken out the policy.
