Jamlet helped us wash the car this afternoon. She thought it was great fun Then later she was abbbling on, obviously wanting something, so I said "what do you want?" "Da" was the reply. "What's da?" So she pointed at DH and then at his coffee maker - she wanted him to make her some foamed milk like he often does at weekends! Very cute she was too when he gave it to her with a spoon

LackaDAISYcal · 19/04/2009 19:36

lol jamlet at your car washing photos and the jamlet's "bambinochino".

We had a lovely day today and walked cross country for about 4 miles....was really nice and sunny. DS1 was on his bike and did fantastically well. Can't wait to get him a big and proper bike now as he does look a wee bit silly on his little kiddies bike!

Jammy or Fairy, have you got a sunshade for your P&T? Poor bumble spent the day hiding behind a carefully draped sweater to keep the sun off him. We've ordered a "protect-a-bub" shade for the rear seat, but wondered whether to get a baby burqa shade for the front or whether the protect-a-bub can be cunningly put into service on the front.

No Daisy, I've not got a sunshade for the P&T . I thought the P&T shade looked a bit severe. Felt pretty guilty though when we have been out on a sunny day - am wondering if I should get one, but it seems a bit late now?

Yes, Jamlet loves her "Babychino"

LackaDAISYcal · 19/04/2009 19:52

ikwym, the P&T one looks like you are ashamed of your children or something!!

FrazzledFairyFay · 19/04/2009 19:53

We don't have a sunshade either

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 19/04/2009 19:54

BTW the reason the car got washed today is that it's going for some repairs tomorrow (having falied MOT on Friday ) and they said they would wash it too, but DH was too to take it in in the state it was in.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 19/04/2009 19:55

I thought the P&T one looked like you didn't think your child deserved to see a nice sunny day

HellHathNoFury · 19/04/2009 20:05

Having a few days at home with DS has been interesting.

He was always quite chatty but now he hardly shuts up talking to me about cooking and ingredients and stuff, funny what a bit of 1-1 will do.

I'm a bit annoyed though that I bought a set of size 3-4 jammies from Sainsburys and they only just fit, next week he'll be too big

Bumperlicioso · 19/04/2009 20:43

Can anyone give me any advice

Bumperlicioso · 19/04/2009 20:53

Nice that you've had a bit of bonding with DS Fury.

Sorry you aren't feeling well Norty.

vaRIAtyisthespiceoflife · 19/04/2009 22:27

no advice from me bumper, sorry. she hasn't got an infection has she?

am very very bored. and expecting a text from DH to say he has to stay over after all.

Ohforfoxsake · 19/04/2009 22:38

Natty The British School of Osteopathy is in Southwark so fairly accessible for you I think (Train to London Bridge?) They train students so its a bit cheaper, but they are still very good. They do ante-natal and post, as well as cranial osteopathy on babies.

I went a couple of times and they did a fantastic job. You will have to stand up in your knickers and bra so make sure they are clean on that day

TheNatty · 19/04/2009 23:42

oh thanks foxy that sounds good.
you know i have never suffered from bad backs in pregnancy before, my body has always just adjusted.

this pregnancy is soo much harder, my mum said her third put her off having any more just for the fact she couldnt face nine months of chronic pain.
my back hurts, my hips hurt, my cervix (i think thats whats hurting) hurts, my ribs hurt. im shattered all the time, i have to wear tenna lady everyday and DH has taken to calling me "preg-zilla" as i am so fed up and angry all the time.

feeling sorry for myself, promise to snap out of it by morning

willing these 13 weeks to fly by, have a feeling they wont. anyone want to babysit my bump for ooh lets say another 88 days?

HellHathNoFury · 20/04/2009 08:47

Off to have scan today
DH can't come DS is still sick so he has to stay home and perform parenting duties.

Going to find out the sex as well.

vaRIAtyisthespiceoflife · 20/04/2009 08:54

good luck fury, poor DS (&DH)

DH has just taken a reluctant DS2 to school (he said he had tummy ache and a sore throat again, hoping he was trying it on, we've only just finished the last lot of ABs)

DS1 has a training day. I would very much like to have a duvet day with baggins, but he has his coat on and the back door keys in his hand, so it ain't gonna happen.

hope you are feeling better today norty.

LittleMissNorty · 20/04/2009 09:09

Good luck Fury....

Feeling like shite again so doing as little as possible. DH gone to work with double buggy anyway and my glasses....so I can't drive even if I wanted to and am having trouble seeing the keyboard

Pics of DD washing your car Jammy are lovely, but at washing it before they do ....its like cleaning the house before the cleaner comes round . Personally I don't do washing cars, I get some nice Polish person to do either of ours in our local Sainsbury's car-park for a fiver - they do a much better job than I would!

HellHathNoFury · 20/04/2009 10:00

Jammy I can't believe you washed the car before it was washed by someone else!
Not sure if it's bizarre or admirable

vaRIAtyisthespiceoflife · 20/04/2009 10:18

just rung the surgery to make an appointment - no routine appointments until next Thursday

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 20/04/2009 12:15

Good luck with scan Fury.
And Natty, hope you get something sorted for your back.
That's pants about docs appointment Ria.

DH wanted to wash the car, but I offered to help. I knew (well hoped) that if we all did it it would be fun family activity. Kind of worked - Jamlet loved it, but DH was embaressed in case anyone saw me washing the car rather than him , and he got upset when Jamlet put her hand in her mouth before we got a chance to wash it after she's had her hands in the bucket of soapy/dirty water. I however, took the attitude that while I wouldn't want her drinking a lot of it, a few mlligrams of dirt and soap licked offf her hand were unlikely to be a major problem.

Ooops, the 1st time I pressed Post it came up with an error saying it couldn't process it, so I went back and pressed post again - it obviously lied!

vaRIAtyisthespiceoflife · 20/04/2009 14:22

gah, bored again. Haven't got the renewed enthusiasm for housework I was expecting when they went back to school.

LittleMissNorty · 20/04/2009 14:55

I'm bored as well Ria. Why don't you have one of the emergency appointments?

My DD has drunk a lot worse than dirty water Jammy - and so has Daisy's ....so I wouldn't worry too much. It never fails to amaze me how resilient they are.

Think DD may be complaining about sleeping in a cot - arse! The last few days she has been screaming the place down at nap time and bed time and has needed lots of cuddles / attention / sleeping in our bed etc. I put it down to a variety of things, not being tired / attention seeking etc, but today, after already bringing her downstairs once this morning and then finding her asleep in her highchair, I tried again - she screamed the place down. I put her in the single bed in her room and she slept for 2 hours. What a PITA. Will try her in the bed tonight.

HellHathNoFury · 20/04/2009 14:58

Jammy, we routinely find DS licking his shoes, eating out of the dog bowl and drinking water from the tumble dryer condenser. I think you're safe.

Norty, DS has been in a bed for a while now, the transition was dead easy but we definately found that a bed guard helped.

vaRIAtyisthespiceoflife · 20/04/2009 15:00

It's not an emergency norty. I don't want to go at all, but Ill have to. I have an inflamed skin tag (?) on the inside of my thigh and my trousers rub on it making it uncomfortable. Am hoping they can do something about it before it gets so big I can't walk! (sorry if TMI)

baggins is napping on the sofa. we got his cot bed but haven't put it up get. there's fecking playmobil all over the room. I don't think I will ever get it tidy enough.

DH is out overnight tonight. I really can't face it tonight, hope it's just PMT but am really yuk
