Just had DS up for an hour, not a happy bunny . Need to take him to doc tomorrow as he has developed about 20 blistery spots in a line down the side of his torso and one arm. They're not bothering him but definitely spreading. The nurse on nhs direct said if he wasn't so young she'd swear he had shingles.

Ria, you don't have to be an NCT member to sell at or go to an NCT sale

FrazzledFairyFay · 29/03/2009 22:55

Holly, Dh and I rarely spend the night in the same bed these days for exactly that reason. Since moving, DD conducts compulsory guided tours of our house for anyone who comes round and has, on several occasions, shown them the spare room saying "this is Daddy's room" .

Riallytoofattoflounce · 29/03/2009 22:55

Roverandom DS1 loved it

Riallytoofattoflounce · 29/03/2009 22:57

I like that fairy wish we had a spare room.
Poor DS though, hope he is OK and you get some sleep tonight.

FrazzledFairyFay · 29/03/2009 23:01

Thanks. He has had Calpol and is asleep now, so fingers crossed. He's been absolutely fine all day so am hoping the wake-up is coincidental. Better go to bed now though, just in case. Good night

TheNatty · 29/03/2009 23:33

what baby clothes did u leave behind daisy? id happily pay for some of them if they are babygrows and the like, i assume boys stuff yes?
same goes for nappies, both you and hollys

LittleMissNorty · 30/03/2009 08:45

Morning

Hope DS is OK Fairy and your night wasn't too bad.

Oh I love that film Little Voice....will definitely come to Yorkshire next year for my hols...long way for a week though so might have to make it a fortnight holiday destination.....certainly looks like there is plenty to see. DH has fond memories of a railway museum - is that in York? He went as a child.

£100 is pretty good going Daisy....can you put the pram on e-bay? We had 5 items on e-bay last week and made £66 which was pretty good going. Got bags and bags of pink things to get rid of though. Going to do it as big bundles.

Gave DH nightnurse last night and it completely zonked him out....he was still showing the effects this morning I think....mind you, at least I didn't have a night of him sniffing and sighing and saying how shit he felt .....just the usual feeding, puking and changing clothes and bedding from the other man in my life!

Riallytoofattoflounce · 30/03/2009 08:52

small mercies norty! The railway museum is in York, we have been at least once a year since DS1 was 4/5 so not massively fond memories here, of course now we he has moved on to the Air Museum and Eden Camp...

DS2 (who doesn't like trains that much) is at home with a cough today, though since I gave him some tixtlix and said he could stay home I don't think he's coughed once

DH should be home soon. hope he has some news today.

Riallytoofattoflounce · 30/03/2009 08:55

are you wanting blue things natty? when is it you're due? depending when I get the car booting stuff out of the loft I can see what I have left, though I gave daisy all the best stuff my favourites I think

DS2 is playing in the playpen so baggins doesn't harrass him

LittleMissNorty · 30/03/2009 09:10

Railway museum doesn't sound all that exciting to me either....or the air museum for that matter....but after the museum of Scottish football and the British Golf Museum I can cope with anything .

TheNatty · 30/03/2009 09:36

ria i am indeed, not due till mid july, so ages yet, just keeping an eye out as i havent got anything left of toms cos we werent going to have another one till kids were both at school so we charity shopped it all. (me? caught the broody bug? never )
any and all offers welcome, happy with cream/white unisex stuff too, just trying to save a few pennies with DH finishing work next week and the money is going to be really tight over the summer as its the longest stretch betweem student loan payments the summer hols.

well its sunny here, but bitterly cold, the weather is mean atm, u wake up thinking "oh what a nice day" then u put the rubbish out and come in thinking "awwwww its cold "

Riallytoofattoflounce · 30/03/2009 10:43

arse. DHs new proper job has been put back as there isn't time to do the refurb before Easter so looks like they'll do it over May and aim for Whit opening He still has his P/T temp contract with them so all is not that bad, but it's not brilliant. DS1s b'day in 2 weeks. best get the free school dinners applied for again

TheNatty · 30/03/2009 10:47

aw ria thats shitty

life loves to give u lemons eh? god knows whats happening to us when DH stops work, ive got a load of money hidden in the house lmao incase all the benefits go tits up, but i darnt put it into savings incase they say we arnt entitled to the money if we have savings.

looks like we will all be cutting out coupons and hunting in charity shops this year! luckly i did both tom and ellens birthday pressies already, they are in the shed (plastic house, slide and swing) and they are having a joint party at the end of april between the birthdays.

im so glAD my kids are to young to notice lack of money, it must be hard for those of u with bigger ones

LackaDAISYcal · 30/03/2009 10:49

Morning.....I didn't take any of the babygros and stuff natty and was going to advertise on here or ebay......I need to sort through it all and see what's what with the little stuff as we were leant a lot from a friend. Are you having another boy?

I can certainly pass on the stuff that Ria passed on to me as well

Re nappies.....I've just done THIS. Obviously I will do you a discount

OP posts:
TheNatty · 30/03/2009 10:55

yeah i am having a boy, but like i said happy with anything cept pink lol!

which of the nappies did you find reliable daisy? ive got BTP nappies, but have been informed they wont fit for about 2 months so im trying to bridge the gap a bit

Sputnik · 30/03/2009 10:57

Natty, I have some small size nappies I'll send you for postage. About 8 I think and 3 or 4 wraps. I'll bring them to UK with me for easter and post from there.
I'm happy for them to go to a good home.

Sputnik · 30/03/2009 10:59

LOL, I hadn't read you last post when I wrote that. Problem solved!
There are a couple of tots bot, a couple of hemp ones and er... mind goes blank.

LittleMissNorty · 30/03/2009 10:59

Would it be cruel do you think to attach DSs dummy to an elastic band to keep it in his gob?

congrats on a boy Natty....everything I'm getting rid of is pink and frilly I'm afraid.....and I've just donated all my neutral newborn size stuff to the hospital (as I borrowed so many of theirs when I was in due to having a puker!)

Ria...what a PITA about the job....it sounded like you had your suspicions yesterday...

Rigth, the housework isn't getting done sitting on here is it?!

TheNatty · 30/03/2009 11:04

sputnik yes please, freebies are ALWAYS welcome in the natty household lol

LackaDAISYcal · 30/03/2009 11:29

I thought the tots nappies were fab natty. In fact I've bought some more in size 2. The diddy diapers are nice too, lovely and soft with a t-shirt material inner that is lovely against a newborn bottom.
I find that when they are so little and pooing all the time, the nappies never actually get to the point where they are sopping wet. the tots are pretty absorbent though and have even been doing well for us recently (if a bit on the nippy side!!)

the ellas house ones are good for nightime and very slim fitting for the absorbency. they need stripping regularly though as the hemp tends to hang onto smells more than cotton or bamboo.

LackaDAISYcal · 30/03/2009 11:44

oops ria, meant to say bugger about the job not being ready till june . At least he is doing something at the minute though.

OP posts:
TheNatty · 30/03/2009 11:58

ok daisy, wont have funds till end of next month tho, having checked the bank we are poor again lol..
if they sell before then, then they do xx

FrazzledFairyFay · 30/03/2009 12:22

{sad] about Dh's job Ria. what a pain in the arse.

Thankfully DS slept well after his 10pm episode. In fact I had to wake them both at 7:30 to get ready for pre-school . Have taken DS to doc and she thinks he has Impetigo. As the cream hasn't worked she's given him oral antibiotics. That'll be fun - he's had the first dose and grimaced and tried to spit it out. He's got to have it 4 times a day for a week - so only another 27 doses to go ......... I think bribery with smarties may be the only answer. I a relieved though as when it spread so drastically yesterday I as getting really worried.

Sputnik · 30/03/2009 12:30

Poor thing Fairy. Good luck with the ABs, I use a syringe, though haven't had to give them for ages, luckily.

TheNatty · 30/03/2009 12:43

second the syringe!
my two have been taking this stuff the chemist recommended for their constant tummy issues, and their diareeh has pretty much stopped, and tom hasnt complained his stomach hurts all day.
i wonder what it is tho? docs are baffled, but as they are both affected keep telling me its a bug.
hmm where are these bugs lurking in my spic and span house?
