DH opened the kettle, for those of you that missed the exciting conclusion! I knew you had to push the button to open it, but it was jammed with all the crap I stuffed the kettle with.

Thanks for posting that link Ria, I thought maybe they had a video, but then I thought, nah, don't be daft. I too love Lakeland, must've caught that from my Mum.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 16/04/2009 20:48

I love Lakeland too.

I've done my work for tonight Working on getting some papers published. What with ML and all I've not had anything published for ages, but now have 3 papers and a report in the pipeline, all on completely different topics

TheNatty · 16/04/2009 20:52

any tips on easing rib pain and heartburn?

LackaDAISYcal · 16/04/2009 21:05

sorry, no natty....tis the curse of the short pregnant person

We had a great day. We went to the park and stopped off at KFC for a takeout on the way and sat at the picnic benches with our fast food . DS1 has finally "got" that he can ride a bike without stabilisers (it's taken two years of periodic tantrums from him whenever we have suggested taking the stabilisers off ), so he had his bike with him and di really well. Not only cycling, but off road as well. And it solves our dilemma of what to get him for his birthday without cluttering the house with more plastic tat.........it's just DH's garage getting cluttered instead

FrazzledFairyFay · 16/04/2009 21:11

Sorry Natty, can't help there, other than swigging Gaviscon or similar. I'm 5ft 11 and I suffered from hartburn and rib pain with both pregnancies.

TheNatty · 16/04/2009 21:30

great!
im dying!!!

cant i just say, i really really love my hubby atm.

i want to treat him, any ideas girls (oh and sex or anything to do with it a big fat NO!! )

vaRIAtyisthespiceoflife · 16/04/2009 21:53

tis definitely the curse of the big fat pregnant person too!

DHs shouldn't be rewarded for good behaviour - they should just do it for the love of their DW poached eggs on toast for breakfast in bed for my DH

sounds impressive jammy, good luck.

well done to ds1 daisy

feck it, last nights Monarch of the Glen did not record and the new DVD player is buggered. why do ITV3&4 run decent re-runs at really stupid times (jeeves & Wooster was on this morning at cbeebiesstupid o'clock.)

TheNatty · 16/04/2009 22:15

lol ria, things i wanna watch always clash with cebeebies lmao!

vaRIAtyisthespiceoflife · 16/04/2009 22:34

I hve just registered for a short maths course with the OU

and we are watching Ladies in Lavendar (I got bored before the end last time). My choice was Shirley Valentine.

TheNatty · 16/04/2009 22:35

randomness ria lol..

good for you with the maths, i find it scaary

vaRIAtyisthespiceoflife · 16/04/2009 22:57

I find maths scary too, that's why I'm doing it

tis very odd having DH here. he is even sat next to me just now

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 17/04/2009 07:39

Careful Ria - isn't that how babies are made, sitting next to each other?

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 17/04/2009 09:17

The skirt I am wearing today is far too big for me It's good inspiration after a couple of days of eating too many unhealthy things . If I continue eating like that I will fill this skirt back up again, sure as (Easter) eggs are eggs, but if I go back to being healthy I can have many more "feeling skinny" days like today

vaRIAtyisthespiceoflife · 17/04/2009 09:49

well done jammy!

lol, 'tis OK we weren't sitting that close.

have just had to cut a knot out of baggins hair

vaRIAtyisthespiceoflife · 17/04/2009 09:56

the boys are having friends over today. It is DS2s first proper playdate and he has dressed himself in his best trousers and a smart shirt!

I know it's mean but I wish they weren't coming and right now I'llbe glad when the holidays are over This week has been much harder work than last week. I suppose it's the weather...

LackaDAISYcal · 17/04/2009 10:02

Ria I'm with you on this week being harder.....holidayitis has a cumulative effect on me!

DD has emptied two huge tubs of toys all over the floor; I am literally pinned in the corner with toys. We have too much stuff and am going to start being ruthless and getting rid of it. We also have a bedroom full of stuff and then more in the attic. Would I be unreasonable to unearth it and use it for future birthday pressies for the littlies? the thought of More Stuff coming in this house is making me very anxious.

vaRIAtyisthespiceoflife · 17/04/2009 10:50

that's what I've been doing daisy. DS1 asked why he'd been getting expensive presents recently (DS last but 1 xmas, Wii last xmas and his laptop), erm it's because I would rather put all the cash together and buy one thing that doesn't take up much space, than buy 20 sets of lego. I suppose I should be ruthless and refuse stuff from other peoples clear-outs, but DS2 adores the playmobil. baggins birthday is a worry to me though.

HellHathNoFury · 17/04/2009 12:10

Fuck life
Fuck Chickenpox
Fuck the In Laws
Fuck managers

Fuck.
Going now.

vaRIAtyisthespiceoflife · 17/04/2009 12:19

fury, not a good day then?
tepid baths with bicarb in are meant to be good for chicken pox, or antihistamine.
cannot help with managers, has never been my strong point (or power-mad pseudo managers).
or in0laws - are they here?

HellHathNoFury · 17/04/2009 12:23

Chickenpox is on the mend but still wearing me out.
In laws booked the wrong flights here that I am paying for. They meant well but called me at 4am to check, I emailed them the details at 4am, I went back to bed, they couldn't work the site so called an agent and paid £1000 more. With my cc details.
Manager has denied my request for domestic leave to care for DS.
The house that I am buying - the vendors bank lost the deeds. So the tenants we had moving in can't. Leaving us with no tenants and an empty house - and AUS$330p/h legal fees if we want to sue... so not an option really.

Oh yes, and I am incontinent.

Fuck the lot of it.

vaRIAtyisthespiceoflife · 17/04/2009 12:28

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 17/04/2009 12:53

Fury

FrazzledFairyFay · 17/04/2009 14:42

Fury, what a terrible day

Who was saying the other day about their lo refusing to nap? My DS has refused the past 2 days. I've put him down around 1:30 and he's still awake an hour later. Aghhhhhh, he CANNOT drop his naps, he's not even 2 yet ffs . Any tips? I was just going to keep putting him down an leaving him for an hour or so (he doesn't cry, just talks to himself, sings, etc). What do you think?

FrazzledFairyFay · 17/04/2009 14:44

I meant to say - keep up the good work Jammy, you sound like you are doing really well

HellHathNoFury · 17/04/2009 15:26

Fairy, DS is JUST the same. We put him in at noon and leave him there. For ages. he will sing and play with counting etc and then after an hour or so, he'll grizzle, then sleep.

We basically leave him there until he sleeps, it can take AGES.

But we figure he seems perfectly happy and so probably needed the time out anyway.
