I used to love getting those magic painting books for christmas Tbelle

LittleMissNorty · 06/04/2009 22:42

there you go Tallulah, you're not showing your age, Ria is really young - well compared to us anyway . BTW, I used to love those books as well. Its reminded me that I bought DD some aquadraw for Xmas in the Woolies closing down sale....so I'll have to get them out for her

TALLULAHBELLE · 06/04/2009 22:46

Well am off to bed on a good note then - am clearly not quite as ancient as I feel . Night all & thanks for keeping me company tonight.

LackaDAISYcal · 06/04/2009 22:47

like that tallulah....but reuseable I've just ordered some ITNG ones for DD's birthday

you still get those books, but the colours are really wishy washy.

wow, that's pretty cool.

dragged the boys 4.5miles over the moors today (no rain - yippee!but a bit misty so view crap) and then another mile here the boys got an easter egg each for doing the family trail (I think they should have only got 1, but I think the lady felt a bit guilty for me having to queue so long to get the trail as two worthy-member-types queue-jumped. *We are members too, but not self-important queue jumpers - I always feel a bit unworthy and not quite dressed right!) It was very Darcy-esque - one of the temples was set for dinner.

I have really cold feet tonight

DH found last night (being at home for once insted of his in lovely peaceful hotel room) far too unrestful, sleeping with DS2&3 - they fight in their sleep! and the grown-up has to sleep cross-ways along the bottom of the bed while they sleep fairly normally in the normal-ish position. Suppose it's my turn tonight. Pah. (and no doubt my fault they do it)

DS1 was telling me how his PE teacher is a "facker". When do they learn to distinguish what is OK to talk to your parents about, and what is likely to get you into trouble? Bless him. I will be a "cool" parent

off to bed in the boxing ring (I'm sure I heard DS2 get up and stomp through earlier)

night all

LackaDAISYcal · 07/04/2009 08:17

your walk looks lovely Ria. I've never been to Rievaulx, but DH has and says it's fab.

Would love to join the NT, but can't justify the £60 at the minute. Well, I could but DH couldn't!!

Yu have inspired me though to get booted up and take them all up the MEanwood Valley Trail. It starts near where we live, and eventually joins up with the Dales Way; you can walk all the way to Windermere if it takes your fancy. We won't go that far today though

That place looks lovely Ria

quiet day here today......TV and housework....and I'll get the aquadraw out for DD later!

Day one of new nap regime today (one short nap after lunch).....wonder how long I will last. She's already stood at the bottom of the stairs at 8am asking to go back up .

LackaDAISYcal · 07/04/2009 08:38

God norty, i would love DD to have a nap in the morning. It takes all my resolve to get her in bed for an hour in the afternoon.....it's such a battle. We have to barricade her bedroom door as she can reach the door handles now

bumble is rolling over every time now, clever boy.

OP posts:
LittleMissNorty · 07/04/2009 08:47

Ahhh he'll be rolling all over the place soon....I remember that with DD. Is he feeling better today?

My DD can reach door handles as well now....and the kitchen surfaces (well the first few inches anyway) and the traditional places where things are put to be "out of reach"

That's one of the reasons I'm in no rush to get her out of the cot!

Riallytoofattoflounce · 07/04/2009 08:48

morning

we have this book, and one the same for the Dales. your walk sounds nice daisy. I think I can get to the Cleveland Way and the Wolds Way here, but expect they aren't that pushchair friendly (also the Cleveland way is a bit cliffy!) DH joined the NT when he was happily in his last job. Couldn't justify it now, but we are going to as many places as possible so it has been worthwhile. I would like to go to Rievaulx Abbey, but it's an English Heritage site. Am saving up to go in December when they have a candlelit carol service.

boring housework today. no-one except me ready for a nap!

LittleMissNorty · 07/04/2009 08:49

morning naps makes for ratty little shitbags later on in the day.....hence the new regime here!

Riallytoofattoflounce · 07/04/2009 08:49

for daisy

LittleMissNorty · 07/04/2009 08:50

That's a fab idea those books....wonder if they do one for Kent

LittleMissNorty · 07/04/2009 08:52

mmmmm obviously Kent isn't very interesting for walking....

Riallytoofattoflounce · 07/04/2009 08:55

that's a surprise norty.

Riallytoofattoflounce · 07/04/2009 08:57

here norty. I think DH said our book has a website in it, but I think the book is still in the car and I'm in my PJs, but I'll have a look later.

LackaDAISYcal · 07/04/2009 08:59

Thanks Ria . We have the Dales one and one for the Lake District too.

I've just ordered it, on DHs card which is on my saved cards in amazon from me ordering my mother's day pressie

Riallytoofattoflounce · 07/04/2009 09:02

nice one daisy.

I really must get off the PC and into RL, for a bit...

LittleMissNorty · 07/04/2009 09:02

Thanks Ria ....there are some good ones there!

I also have a shopping basket in Amazon now

Daisy....unfortunately Amazon had my account cached!

This is all your fault Ria - getting us spending our money.....

LackaDAISYcal · 07/04/2009 09:09

DS1 has just reminded me that I promised I'd take him to Toys'R'Us to spend the rest of his Christmas money and that our friend is coming over this afternoon.....ah well, maybe not today for the traipse across country and tomorrow is Easter crafts at the Children's centre. Dd is distraught; she wants to go on a "nitpick"

PILs are coming for DS1 tomorrow...but not DD . IT's not like she's any trouble but for some reason they never take them both together. DS1's cousin will be with them probably.
